Basically just a painful hair washing and blow dry. They used extremely hot water on my hair and a very hot blow dryer. There were no heat protectant products. My hair feels damaged, my scalp is itching, and when they showed me my scalp on the camera after I could see lots of redness from irritation. There was a major language barrier so I couldn’t communicate anything about temperature preferences or get any information about what products were being used. 2 stars because they got me in on short notice and treated me right away.

One of the best scalp messages. It was so calming and relaxing. They used the best products and the best massage techniques. It’s such an amazing spot here in greenpoint and I would definitely want to come again and recommend it to all my friends. They also have many other packages and treatments that one can check out. The staff is extremely friendly and professional.

Shout out to Andy and Steven! They were amazing!! Scalp felt so clean afterwards and the neck and shoulder blade massage was the best. The space was clean and relaxing and all of the staff were super nice! We’re going to make this a monthly thing!

HORRRIBLE customer service !!!! Had an appointment at 12:45, at 1:05 I was told I would have to wait another 15 minutes and then I was asked to wait another 15minutes and shorten my service! They took plenty of people in before me, never again will I go here to be treated like dirt when I have been before. If they dont have the staff they shouldn’t take the appointments. Horrible way to treat people!!

I asked for the promotion so they charged me 58 instead of 78. My hair felt so clean and I felt so relax. They place did feel and seem clean and staffs were really nice. If you never tried it, try the scalp massage at least once

I called place before going to ask for price. The front desk wasn’t totally honest about pricing. It was $20 more expensive than what I was told on the phone. I think this place takes advantage of customers. Rude treatment from receptionist did not improve my experience

I had a very good experience. Definitely great place to get all the gunk and buildup out of your hair follicles. I thought it would be a little bit more gentle, but other than that very clean and very pleasant people. Next time I’m hoping my person will be more gentle so I can relax a bit more. My hair feels amazing though. An unexpected blow dry at the end 🤭🥰

I had the best massage and scalp treatment today with Mia. She knew exactly what my body needed- the perfect pressure, time in each section, technique, etc. I came in feeing so overwhelmed and stressed today that I cried after my session because of the relief I felt. I’m so grateful. Thank you, Mia. 🙏 Plus the place is super clean, everyone is very nice, and you can’t beat the prices. Will definitely be returning soon!

The videos I’ve seen for this place doesn’t live up to the hype! I walked in here thinking it was just going to be a scalpel treatment and it came with a massage and pressure point therapy and had my hair smelling GREAT as I left out of Blissful spa feeling like a million bucks! I could definitely see myself coming back! You just made yourself a customer!

I decided to treat my mom to a facial and scalp treatment for her birthday. Let me tell you, you will not regret it! The neighborhood is a little sketchy, like I thought we got lost but once you step into their establishment, it’s like a whole another world. It smells amazing, so clean, so organized, honestly just beautiful. They brought us to our room where we changed to robes and they kept us warm with blankets and pillows. It was all very comfortable and perfect to take a nap. They work out all the knots on your neck, head, arms, and hands. They clean and wash your hair like there is no tomorrow. The facial is a whole another experience where they work on all your face muscles and leave you feeling brand new. Overall amazing customer service, wonderful staff, very attentive to detail, exceptionally clean and well organized, and best place ever. Definitely coming back!

I understand that not all spas are experienced with different hair textures. However, I felt disappointed at the end of my session. Multiple staff members stood watching while my hair was being dried. One was trying to help but two of the staff gawked at me like a spectacle and object of curiosity. That's not how a paying customer wants to feel. They also skipped some of the scalp treatments, presumably due to unfamiliarity with my hair type, and I was still charged full-price. I booked a 3 hour package with body massage, facial, and head spa combo. Everything was great until the last 10 minutes when they were clearly uncomfortable with my hair, didn't communicate with me, and then rushed me out. I asked to go to the restroom before leaving to try and make myself look presentable and when I came out was rudely ushered to the front by a woman who'd been angrily glaring at me while I was sitting in the chair. I still tipped normally because everything was fine up until the end portion. I just wouldn't want another person with textured hair to go there with no warning and leave feeling the way that I felt. They have so many videos of content creators with textured hair getting treatments here that I thought it'd be fine and unfortunately it wasn't.

I’d been hearing about Japanese head spas for a while, and as a Black woman with 4C hair, I was both curious and hesitant to try it. I wasn’t sure if they’d know how to properly handle my hair texture compared to their usual clients. On January 20th, I decided to give Blissful HeadSpa a try and opted for the signature herbal treatment. I had just taken out braids, so my scalp and hair needed some serious TLC. I was pleasantly surprised by the care Mia provided during the wash. She used just the right amount of pressure and thoroughly cleansed my hair, shampooing three times and applying conditioner and treatment. My scalp felt amazing afterward! The staff was also very pleasant throughout the experience. However, the drying process was a letdown. I mentioned that they needed a different dryer for hair like mine, but it seemed to go over their heads. Toward the end, when they started drying my hair, they were clearly confused about how to handle it, which was frustrating, to say the least. They use Dyson hair dryers, which, in my experience, aren’t effective for 4C hair. I ended up leaving with my hair in a bun because that was the only option. Here are a few additional things to note: • There is a language barrier; the service workers don’t speak English. • I brought my own brushes and combs because they seem to use the same hair tools on everyone. Overall, the experience was decent, and the price point wasn’t bad. They did the best they could with the tools they had, but there is definitely room for improvement if they want to continue catering to Black clientele. Please consider these details if you have 4C hair.
