Got a lovely blowout from Eleni! In and out in 30 minutes. Did not have any issues checking in and experienced none of the awkwardness mentioned in other reviews. This is not the most luxurious spot but that’s not really what I needed. Will be back!

I had sent my wife to get her hair blown out for her birthday and she was styled by a girl named Gina. She was very patient and understanding to what my wife wanted , even when she wasn’t sure ,she will definitely be back. Thank you Blow Bar

Wanted to get my hair done for a black tie wedding in NYC and booked an appointment here. My “stylist” asked me what I wanted; I came prepared with a bunch of inspo pictures, she then proceeded to watch a YouTube video in front of me for 20 minutes and said she’s trying to “get inspired.” Mind you she didn’t even ask me why I was getting my hair done or anything. My hair turned out completely different than what I asked for and fell out after an hour. NOT worth $100 or the time.

Eleni is the absolute best! Love this location! I prefer to Drybar as the hairstylists are much more knowledgeable. AND they do express makeup - which is perfect if you have an event or meeting.

I had a mid experience. From the very beginning i felt awkward from the moment i came in. The receptionist and stylist was talking when i was clearly just standing there in front of them. I felt like i was intruding. Look, you don’t have to stop your convo but at least acknowledge me and say please give us a moment. That stylist (Gina) ended up being the person to do my hair. She washed my hair super fast. I have a lot of hair and i like a good scrub and was disappointed with the wash. The blow out was very disappointing as well. She just took chucks of my hair and blew it so fast. i was thinking maybe she’s doing this bc she’s going to flat iron its But when she used the flat iron it was on a few strands. When she grabbed the finishing spray i asked her if she can go over my hair with the flat iron again but this time section it and go from bottom to top. Thankfully she did without any problem which i appreciate. But the whole time my hand was shaking from how anxious i felt just watching her do my hair. When i do my hair i do it to treat myself after a long day but i left feeling sad.I think i would try going again but with a different stylist and if i do i hope my 2 star rating will turn to a five star. ⭐️

I made an appointment to get a blow out for my wedding day. I’ve included photos of the inspo picture I showed the stylist. I told them I wanted as much volume as possible and I was after the big ‘old Hollywood glam’ look. I voiced that the reason I was getting it done professionally was because I wanted to make sure it lasted me the whole day. The stylist was very lovely and kind. They seemed confident about working with short hair. My appointment was at 7am and was supposed to be a 45 minute appointment. I planned my morning around this as we had an early photoshoot. I did not like that they had me turned away from the mirror for the entire length of the appointment as I couldn’t see what they were doing. But I tried to not overthink it and just trust the process. As I saw the reveal I was really disappointed with the lack of volume as I had given myself better blowouts with my $20 blowdry brush. My left side was completely flat (I woke up with more volume.) I asked them to back comb it for some more volume which they did. I did not have the time, nor trust that they could fix it beyond this. It was already 8:10 at this point and I wanted to rush to the hotel so that I could fix it myself. I’m less upset about wasting $75 and more upset about wasting nearly 75 minutes on my wedding morning where my time was SO valuable. I regretted my decision to come here so much. I wish that I had saved myself all the stress and time. By the time I made the 5 minute walk back to my hotel room my hair was completely flat. I’ve included photos of the inspo pic, a photo with time stamp of what my hair looked like immediately after the appointment and after doing my make up. There is a photo from when I was done fixing it myself, and finally a photo from when I did my own hair a week prior. THANK GOD I brought my curling iron, I was able to somewhat salvage it. As a result of me having to fix it and delaying my make up, we were 30 minutes late to our wedding photoshoot. Overall a very disappointing experience and added immense stress to my wedding day. As others have noted, the place could also use a renovation.

Stylist Khadija was great, apart from that the whole place needs a clean and spruce. The floorboards are peeling, seats looked dirty. The whole place needs a lot more care and attention especially with the prices they're charging

I've been a regular at Blo for my blowouts, always satisfied with the service until I visited the FiDi location. While the stylists did an excellent job, the discriminatory policies and unfair charges left me utterly disappointed. Despite booking the standard $59 blowout, I was charged an extra $74 for going over 45 minutes—once for being 46 minutes and another time for 43 minutes. When questioned, the front desk attributed this to my hair texture, flagging me in the system for an additional fee, a policy I've never encountered at other locations. Claiming my appointment was only shorter than 45 minutes because the stylist "rushed" makes no sense. The excuse I was given is that the manager (who has never been in the store while I’m there) decided my hair needs extra time - based on camera footage, which is not only dubious but also raises privacy concerns. This treatment is discriminatory, especially since it's inconsistent with my experiences at other Blo locations. Despite my protests, I was only able to avoid the extra charge after a lengthy debate and insisting that the manager be called. However, I was informed that I would still be flagged in the system for future appointments to be charged the $74 no matter how short or long my appointment is, continuing to face this unjust treatment. It's disheartening to encounter such blatant racism in a place that should be focused on providing quality service to all customers. I urge Blo's management to review and eliminate these discriminatory practices immediately.

Pagean took excellent care of me. She was gentle, listened to my needs and styled my hair exactly the way I requested for a special wedding. Try her out. You won’t regret it. Also, pricing is very reasonable.

I had Debbie do my hair on Friday afternoon when I arrived in NY from london and I loved it. She is very professional, did the job quickly and knew exactly how I wanted a curly blow dry! I get blow dries every weekend and sometimes you aren’t sure with going somewhere new but she was great. Thank you for doing my hair so well.

A few weeks ago, I made appointments for a blowout and full face makeup on the afternoon of Sep 30 (was attending a wedding that day). The appointments were 1pm-1:45pm for the hair and 1:45-2:30pm for the makeup. Around noon they called to inform me they were running 15 min late. I arrived around 1pm anyway just in case they had perhaps made up the time but was prepared not to start until 1:15pm. I was concerned from the start though because it was clear upon arrival that the prior client was more than 15 min away from being done. At 1:20pm I inquired with the front desk about how much longer it would take; both they and the stylist (Nae?) told me 10 more minutes. I asked if we would still finish on time (2:30–2:40pm) and was told yes. They finally started on my shampoo at 1:40pm. Around 2:20pm she was about wrapping up my blow dry (though hadn't started any of the styling) and remarked "we'll definitely still finish on time". This seemed inconceivable to me because there was no way it would be possible to do the hair styling and a full face of makeup in 25 minutes. I said that I would have to skip the makeup and do it myself back at home because doing it here would take too long. At that point it became clear that my stylist had no idea I had booked a makeup service at all; finishing on time to her had meant just finishing the blowout / hair styling. She said "oh we won't make you pay for that" as though it was a real goodwill gesture for me not to be expected to pay for a service I did not receive due to an error on their end regarding scheduling forecasting / planning. I did like the blowout quality and got a number of compliments on it from fellow wedding guests, but that did not compensate for the stress caused from having to do my own makeup on late notice (I am not local and did not bring all the right supplies on this trip, since I had expected to be outsourcing my makeup). Additionally there was a pattern of comments that may have been meant with helpful intent but felt fairly naggy and in my opinion are things that a stylist should be able to read the room and roll with the punches / not mention. For example: commenting multiple times that my hair was dry, admonishing me for touching my bangs because my oily hands would get on the bangs, needing to sit up straight so it would be easier for her to do her job, keeping my neck when she was combing out my hair. Lastly I noticed a few misc. hygiene issues like used hair clips and brushes that gave me pause. Overall I would not recommend this place, especially if you are under any sort of time constraint before an event.

It was an ok blow out experience but the curls didn't last at all as promised. I asked if the stylist was experienced with Chinese hair and she said she is and told me that Chinese hair actually holds curls really well.. so I trusted her. Now it's only been a few hours and my hair just looks wavy. I didn't want my hair to be brushed out (so it can last longer, which I always do) and hoped that the curls would last at least a day or two 🥲 maybe it was because it was closing time but the one who did my hair suddenly rushed out of the door after she was done with my hair which left me a bit confused lol When I curl my own hair, it lasts for days and I don't even use hairspray or anything. I hoped for more volume as well because after the first time she was done with me I told her that I wanted the curls starting from above instead of mid-under, then she said my hair is heavy but proceeded anyways. I also asked for a head massage but she was really vague about it :( So in overall I think it's a bit overpriced for what you get.

This place is my go-to! The salon is fabulous and everyone js so sweet. I’ve had blow outs done by most of the girls and they’re all great. Eleni is my absolutely favorite. She does a fantastic job and she’s also so fast I feel like I am in and out of there in no time. Not to mention she’s a pleasure to talk to. I highly recommend booking an appointment.

This place is my staple! Everyone is so nice and personable. With a busy work schedule its not always easy and they are always super understanding and accommodating. Every visit for my blowdry is a like a mini break for my body and mind. Every single stylist is so talented; I have uplifting great hair days after a visit here. ELENI is one of the most senior stylists and the manager there and my favorite person. She is so personable with her team as well as her Clients. She is fast and efficient too. She has given me the THE MOST flattering blow out for my face EVER! Styles I could have never imagined for myself, she always make me feel like a million bucks. Stop by here and get your hair done for a special day or just to make any day special!
