Alex is by far the best hair stylist I've been to. I've been to at least 10 different hair stylists in the past 3 or so years and have maybe left only one of those appointments satisfied with my hair color. I have thick, black, Asian hair and I get very bright blonde highlights done, which is why it's super hard for me to find stylists who satisfy my expectations. He does my hair very quickly (about 2 hours which usually takes other stylists 4-6 hours), and the color is always exactly what I want. Alex is phenomenal at what he does.

Alex is amazing blonde hair coloring specialist. He’s saved my hair as I had so many things done to my hair trying to get the right color blonde and every time I go to him he nails it every time I never have to worry. Got my hair cut today and the stylist barely glanced at the reference photo, by the end of the haircut it was a complete different cut, I’m very upset. I showed the photo before the cut started and tried to show different angles but he shrugged it off, it’s not what I asked for at all it’s a completely different cut. NORMALIZE SAYING NO IF YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO DO THE CUT!!!!

I’ve been here twice now to touch up my blonde/brownish hair and they are fantastic every time. So personable and sweet. Vicky is a superstar and same with the other woman who did my hair the 1st time who’s name has slipped my mind unfortunately. Only place I’ll go to do my hair❤️‍🔥

Virginia did an amazing job with my hair! It was my first time getting a keratin treatment and she walked me through the process and aftercare for it. She is so sweet and my hair turned out amazing! I will definitely be coming back to this salon.

Virginia is the sweetest and she is an amazingly talented hair stylist. She corrected a botched blonde for me. She also gave the most gentle haircut. I was scared of losing legnth and she went through and trimmed just the spilt ends. Best hair experience ever!!!!

Employees aren’t required to mask up. I canceled my appointment as soon as I walked in. Edit: that is a lie from the salon. Legally they are required to mask indoors even if vaccinated.

I highly recommend Santa Barbara Salon. I go to Virginia who is extremely kind and listens. Most importantly, she does the best color and haircut. My hair is the healthiest it has been in a long time. Furthermore, Alex is very friendly and addresses people by name even if you are not his client. The place is clean and the only place I will go to get my hair done.

Ashley did an amazing job with brightening up my post-quarantine hair/roots. My balayage looks so natural and blonde! It was hard for me to branch out and trust another salon after going to the same place for over 5 years but both Ashley and Alex were very professional and made me feel more comfortable by taking their time to examine my hair and talk to me about the look that I was going for. Will definitely schedule again.

Cant praise Alex’s Salon enough for the miracle they performed on my hair. Ashleigh did a full head of highlights and she exceeded my expectations! Even though I hadn’t gotten my hair done in years, it looked super natural. The salon was beautiful and relaxing, a place I definitely look forward to returning to!

so I had arrived at this salon with a major hair crisis. I had told the receptionist that I had cut my own hair myself thinking I would have cute bangs. It turned out horrible. To much of my desperation for a stylist to help me, the receptionist at Alex salon was indeed rude. She had told me exactly like this “why would you cut your own bangs.” Kinda of like making fun of me. I felt very uncomfortable and she made me look ashamed. I felt very unwelcome and never came back and just left. This salon has always had a weird snotty vibe to be honest. I work at Paseo and pass by. I really hope you guys are able to train for better customer service and maybe learn about proper behavior. Thank you! 😊

Virginia gave me a perfectly shaped bob haircut yesterday. She was meticulous in her snipping and layering. Best haircut I have had in a couple of years. Very sweet too! Also appreciated the person who made the appointment letting me know that the salon was across from the cinema so I found it easily. Great job all around.

Book an appointment with Virginia! Especially if you have curly/wavy hair that other stylists might find challenging. She gave me a great cut and style, and my sister said my hair has never looked this good before. I was only visiting, but I'll definitely make time for a haircut with her next time I'm in town.

I payed more than 300 dollar for a full keratin treatments and a very simple trim....Being completely honest, my hair looks exactly the same as it did before the treatment. I’m very disappointed. The staff is really nice but I went back to let them know that I wasn’t happy with the very expensive treatment I got, and they didn’t do much to help. I’ve gotten keratin treatments before and so has the rest of my family... Iknow how’s it works, and the one from this place just doesnt!!!

If I could give NEGATIVE 1,000 stars, I would. I have no idea how this place functions as a legitimate business when in actuality, it is nothing more than a disappointing establishment that resorts to the lowest of low behavior to try to squeeze every penny they can out of innocent potential clientele. I booked a hairdo back in November, cancelled WELL IN ADVANCE of the 24-hour cancellation requirement and was still charged over $100 for a hairstyle I did not receive. Long story short, I called weekly for two months straight, asking to speak to the manager or anyone with managerial capacity to try and simply get my money refunded to me so I could go about my merry way. Instead, I kept getting shafted by receptionists who told me Alex, the manager, is the person to speak to about this and he/she will get back to me soon. I tried sending an email to a general email inbox, but NOT to my surprise, they have no such channel of communication. After two months of voicemails and calls, I never heard from Alex, so I started calling more frequently to voice my concern. One day, one unqualified receptionist said Alex would be available in 45 minutes once he/she is finished with a client. I called back in 45 minutes and was told Alex needed 15 more minutes. Gave the benefit of the doubt and gave them 20 minutes. Then I called back again and was hung up on. I called THREE times in a row after that to simply try and get some answers or speak to someone to resolve this issue, and I was hung up on. I called again and was put straight to voicemail. In the end, I decided to call it a loss. I am out over $100 for services I did NOT receive, was treated rudely by staff/receptionists and was essentially ignored by this supposed "manager" Alex. I am not out here trying to harm anyone's business, but in fact I am speaking as a concerned citizen for potential consumers and clients: please, do NOT go to this establishment. I have no patience or empathy for businesses that resort to ignoring customers in order to squeeze every penny they can out of someone. Lastly, I'll leave you with this: for any business out there, is resorting to unprofessional, lazy, and disappointing tactics like this that lead to negative reviews (note: I am not the only customer that has had this type of experience with this salon) that will inevitably harm your business worth $100? For this place, it seems to be so. Save yourself the headache and trouble and go to ANY other salon that will treat their customers and potential clientele, people that give their HARD EARNED money expecting to be treated fairly, right.
