Impressed by Bloom Hair Salon From the moment I walked in, Bloom Hair Salon impressed me with its sleek, high-tech space and high-end products. The staff was welcoming, and manager Frank ensured everything ran smoothly. I’ve followed my stylist, Jorge Sanchez, for six years—his expertise is unmatched. Strangers have even stopped me to compliment his work! As a tough client, I’m always thrilled with the results. Highly recommend Bloom, especially Jorge Sanchez⭐️

I LOVED it! I was so nervous to get my hair cut— I normally do it myself because I’m scared someone will cut it all off lol. Shayla was so attentive and communicative. We had to cut a bit more than I initially expected because of the dead ends, but I left with such lively, voluminous hair and it was so worth it. I’ll only be trusting her with my hair! The atmosphere is amazing, the staff is so kind, and I was so comfortable there! It’s pricey but, considering good haircuts are normally pricey, I think this is the best pick. Thank you Shayla!

EDIT: I had a previous experience that was decent in November. However; Clarissa reached out to me, and did everything she could within her power to make sure I have an enjoyable experience. Even with my very delayed responses, Clarissa still made her best efforts to communicate with me within a timely manner; all while being empathetic towards me. I was accommodated with a color and style service although my original service was in November. It provided by Frank and Ronquet. Frank explained to me in detail how the color lifts, and how my color should last longer this go around. Ronquet shampoo’d my hair thoroughly, with a hair mask as well. This was to ensure my hair was hydrated after a chemical service. She styled my hair and blow dried/diffused it to get rid of the crunch/shrinkage. You know when you take your braids out and you have that tiny broccoli afro? She made my fro look full, defined and hydrated. They both spoke to me, made sure I was comfortable at all times. I was recommend a hair care line to help my hair. I’m grateful for this second experience I had, and as someone who struggles to find a stylist, I think my hair just found a new home.

I went to Bloom for my first curly cut after scouring the internet for a good salon in NYC. A lot of people raved about Bloom on Reddit, the booking process online was really easy, the location is easy to get to, and the salon itself is immaculate. The service upon arrival is very good and all the staff are so kind. I didn't really know what to expect and must not have communicated my needs correctly because once I stated that it was my first time getting a curly cut, my stylist launched into two hours of education. She was a bit rough and pulled out two earrings as she was working through my hair. I wanted to maintain length and she stated she would only cut off two inches while adding layers and shaping my hair but, in the end, cut off 8 inches at the lengths and more in other areas that needed layers. I’m also not familiar with how curly cuts should look but she cut my hair wet and it’s uneven/asymmetrical. I burst into tears when I left the building. My husband and I eloped last year and were planning a reception this spring but I couldn't stop crying when I got home and was dreading the idea of having a reception with short hair so we ended up canceling it altogether. All in all, I would someday consider going back to a different stylist when my hair has grown to a length that I'm comfortable cutting again. I used to get my hair cut every 12 weeks but if they're cutting off 8+ inches every time, I literally can't grow hair that quickly. I would HIGHLY DISCOURAGE anyone who is going to get a haircut here for the first time before some kind of event.

First time getting a dedicated curly cut - absolutely LOVED Lynette!! She gave me one of the best cuts and curly styling I’ve ever had. I immediately bought the products she used to style my hair, and I’m looking forward to trying them out myself to try to replicate what she did. I usually don’t like how my hair has been styled after a cut, but Lynette / Bloom Beauty really knows what they’re doing. Def found my new go-to spot in the city!

I have been to Bloom twice now and could not recommend it more! Frank (the absolute best colorist) did a super natural balayage with the best tone, and Drew gave me an incredible cut! They both took the time to discuss my vision before starting and gave me really helpful input/advise. The service is also incredible - I’ll definitely be back!!

Had a fantastic experience at Bloom Beauty Lounge with Jill as my stylist. I have extremely dry hair and a dry scalp so I got a deep conditioning treatment along with my cut and style. Many times in the past when I’ve left salons my scalp feels even more dry from too much scrubbing and bad products but I left feeling like my hair and scalp were actually healthy and hydrated. And Jill was just lovely. We chatted basically the whole time and I really enjoyed her company, in addition to her fabulous hair skills. I love my cut and my hair feels healthy again.

SHAYLA STARKS is AMAZING! She takes her time with your color, is super professional, and just a fabulous person. She cares about the attention and details. I get so many compliments on my color and I love it! Having curly hair and getting the right color match is an art! Book her because she’s worth it!

I used the apprentice hairstylist option because it was more affordable for me, and though I was nervous ahead of time (I usually only go to my hairstylist outside of the city when I can), Bentley did a great job. I described what I wanted and she took extra time and care to make sure it was perfect. Would definitely go to Bentley again!

I was looking for a place to get my hair cut for a donation, and Bloom Beauty Lounge was everything I was looking for and more! I felt immediately welcomed and comfortable from the second I walked through the door, all the way through to when I left again. Drew and the reception staff were amazing! They were also extremely accommodating of my request to have my hair cut for a donation: they helped me measure and ensured that the ponytails for donation would be neat and the right length. My actual haircut was quick, professional, and exactly what I wanted—it only took 1hr20min to get my hair cut, washed, dried, and straightened. Bentley was incredible: she has great conversation and is so careful with her work, and clearly loves it. Everyone there was so positive: every time another stylist walked past our chair, they would compliment my hair and Bentley's work, which made it feel even better. My experience modeling a haircut was truly amazing, so much so that I asked to be put on the model list again. Really positive staff, really beautiful space, and really incredible hair care—I will absolutely be back.

This review is long overdue - Shayla is an AMAZING curly stylist who understands mixed hair textures, and is the only person I really trust to do my hair now! At the start of the summer, I got a cut and the way she styled it held up for a whole week, saving me time for my anniversary, college commencement ceremony, and early birthday party! And three months in, it’s grown in a way that doesn’t look awkward. She’s has foresight lol. Highly recommend!!

This was my first time at this salon and I was very impressed. Highly recommend for curly and wavy hair! I have an allergic reaction to many hair products and asked for a low maintenance haircut. Honestly, now I just wake up, brush my hair and go. My hair looks amazing! I made an appointment with Drew and I will definitely be back.

Beautiful and lively salon where the team kindly tends to your needs. I received a balayage service and curly cut on type 4 hair by Shayla. She absolutely slayed! Her skills, thoroughness, and care were so appreciated. She also gave me feasible tips to continue to care for and style my hair. I will be going back for sure.

I got my haircut here in February and unfortunately, it was a terrible experience for me. I decided I would splurge and try a new place - the reviews looked great, ultimately the vibe was great, and my stylist sounded confident and seemed like she understood what I was asking for. I had reference photos, and she even verbalized what the goal was, and I thought I had just found my new go-to salon. And to be fair, there were a lot of things that she did right - the color was arguably the best I've ever gotten. And the bangs were also more or less totally perfect. What I still don't understand to this day is why she chopped off 6 inches of my length, basically a year's worth of growth. When I say I was devastated, you have no idea; it takes me FOREVER to grow my hair. I have been trying to achieve long hair for years, and this just broke me. I still see it sometimes when I think back and I wish I had spoken up right there and then, but because she had previously used the phrase 'long shag' to describe what she was going to do, I thought that I was wrong, maybe it wasn't as bad as it looked. I don't have any pictures (besides a mental one), but I just hated it so much at the end and I genuinely wanted to cry as I was leaving. I still tipped her generously (I think this was the most expensive haircut I've ever had), and I appreciate that she stayed late to help me out, but it was just heartbreaking to be honest. It's been 4.5 months and despite me doing weekly hair growth masks, scalp massages, etc., my hair still makes me look like a curly-headed Lord Farquad some days. I will say that everyone else loves it, which doesn't really help. But I wanted to write about this experience because it truly upsets me to this day that this happened. If you're like me and you want to retain as much length as possible, just be very clear about how much to take off.

Slava slays is our family motto! Slava is absolutely exceptional with the curls... i love all my haircuts with her! I have been going to Slava for over a year, and my daughter for even longer... its been such a beautiful experience for us. We leave feeling rejuvenated and thrilled... with the freshest hair ever! I cannot recommend Slava enough... The salon decor is charming and welcoming... i am loving the new space! It's chic and cute and comfortable all in one. Everyone in their staff has always been so kind and it gives off a vibe like everyone is happy to be there!

I saw Shasta Spicer for a curly hair cut. She was very nice during the visit but realized once I came home she cut my hair very unevenly and had to get another haircut to fix it. Would not recommend. Would try a different specialist.

I've been to Bloom Beauty twice now and absolutely LOVE it!!! Shayla was my stylist both times and I cannot stress enough how absolutely wonderful she is. She's super friendly, warm, and makes you feel right at home, and she's truly an expert at her craft; she worked with me to create a style that is perfect for my fine, curly hair, and gave me recommendations about how best to style and care for it. I'm already looking forward to my next appointment; my hair has never looked or felt better!

Shayla was amazing! I was a little nervous since a year ago I went to a stylist that unfortunately didn’t give me a curly cut, more of a trim. The whole Bloom Beauty team really has a great energy and chic vibe, you can tell everyone working there loves their job. The cut was affordable (esp with city pricing) and Shayla really took her time in getting my hair to perfection. 10/10, will definitely be back!

I’m a man with curly hair and had a fantastic haircut with Slava. My hair was cut to the length I wanted it, the curls are bouncy, and I received some new styling tips.
