I went here for about a year, upon recommendation by my best friend. The atmosphere is nice. The aesthetic is clean and minimal. The people who work here seem great. My problem was mostly communication based. My last appointment went horribly wrong. I asked for a haircut, 1-2" off the shoulder and I basically got a pixie cut that barely reaches the bottom of my earlobe. I asked for a cotton candy pink and it came out incredibly uneven and splotchy. Prior to this we had been doing silver so it was already a very light base for a pastel color. It was incredibly upsetting since it cost me hundreds of dollars, and I was even told I was charged extra because it took 4 bottles of dye? I barely had any hair left! I was able to fully and evenly re-dye it myself a few days later with less than 1 full 8oz bottle of Arctic Fox, so I definitely feel scammed there. Before this, it wasn't really a problem. (There was one time when I went in for my silver fresh-up and she said to just get overtone on Amazon to get the silver color I wanted..? I did but like why was I paying you for it then?) When I tried to communicate my unhappiness (in a very polite and respectful way) I was pretty much blown off and told the fault was my own and to go to another stylist. No offer to fix or reimburse any amount. I was definitely shocked and disappointed, but at the end of the day it is her business, and she has the right to run it however she sees fit. I included pictures of the day before my last appointment, and the day after for reference.

This place is both professional and fabulously fun. Sam has been doing my hair for years, she specializes in blondes, I always walk out feeling like I look EXPENSIVE, which is exactly what I want! The other stylist here are also talented and welcoming and collaborative. Environment/ Vibe is perfect. Sam cares about the hair that she l puts out into the world and if you have any issues (doubtful) she will fix them on principle alone! Love this place, highly recommend!!!!!!!

I've trusted Sam with my hair for many years. This space is a sanctuary in the city; beautifully designed, relaxed, and you can count on them to always have good tunes playing. I'm also grateful for their commitment to the environment.

I’ve been going to Sam for a few years and she is great! She’s been patient with me as I’ve gone from deep brown to fully blond. Her studio is super cute too with good vibes.

Toni is amazing! I am new to the Portland area and couldn’t have gotten more lucky with finding Toni! She was such a pleasure to talk to, I felt so comfortable. She actually listened to what I wanted and I can honestly say I’ve never been happier with my hair. Thank you Toni!

Toni is the best stylist I’ve ever had! She works magic. She educated me about my color and cut choices. She went the extra mile (or five) to make sure my hair looked it’s best, that I enjoyed my visit, and understood what it will take to maintain it. I’ll never go to anyone else! You will be happy you went to her as well. The salon is very modern and comfortable. The other staff is kind. 10 out of 10! And Toni, THANK YOU!
