First time coming here and it was great! Christina was so fun and sweet. She made sure I got exactly what I wanted and asked questions to make sure the style and volume was perfect. Definitely will not be my last time coming!

Had a great experience with Mikayla in the West Loop location. She asked me all the right questions on how I like my hair down to the details of how much conditioner to use and how much product I want in my hair. Her vibe was so chill and she gave a great scalp massage, I almost fell asleep lol. The weather was brutal when I left so I did end up touching up my hair a little when I got home, but I left the salon with my hair smelling amazing and feeling refreshed. Will definitely be back. :)

Very disappointed with this location. I booked an appointment for festival braids, which is advertised on their Instagram. I called ahead to confirm the stylist I booked with was able to braid feed-in colored extensions for festival braids and I was told yes. And I was informed of the additional price, which I agreed to. When I arrived, the stylist had no idea I wanted festival braids, even though that’s what I booked and confirmed day of. She was then unsure if they even had the festival braid colored extensions at the salon. The stylist found some (at least so I thought) and braided my hair but not in festival braids. I left with two braids with two pieces of clipped in extensions… not even remotely close to the service booked. I asked to not pay for this, but was still charged anyway. If you cannot complete the service booked that you advertise, it’s not that difficult to tell me you can’t do it rather than waste my time and money. First picture is the advertised arrive. Second is what I left the salon with.

Christina is the best! Very gentle with my hair and did the waves EXACTLY how I wanted it! My hair doesn't hold curls/waves very well so she made sure she used enough products to keep the waves all night and through the next day! Will definitely be back!

First of all when I booked the appointment, I ask for the last person who did my blow out which was the name Keisha? Once I arrive they told me Keisha didn’t work there. I told them when I scheduled the appointment they informed me it would be with the same person so anyway I let someone else do my hair. The owner Nicole came in there looking like she need a meal offered her white clients beverages and just bypassed me like I wasn’t sitting there 😒 never again. I go where I’m celebrated not where I’m tolerated

I received a french braid job that was terrible. The braids itself were fine, but the stylist used some sort of product that left my hair sticky and made it look soaking wet. She did not tell me she was going to use any hair product like this. I had to take it down immediately. It took 3 hair washes to get this substance out of my hair. They have been giving me the run around regarding a refund. I was told to email Nicole and it’s been 2 weeks and I have not gotten a response. I called the salon and another stylist told me she would contact Nicole and I still have heard nothing. Very unprofessional. I do not recommend services here based on my experience.

I went here for an updo for a friends wedding. First of all, they put me with a different stylist than who I booked with. I intentionally didn’t book with that stylist because she had a lot of availability which made me worried of her skill level. I showed her some pictures of what I was interested. The back somewhat looked like it, the front did not at all. It looked sloppy and undone. I asked her to fix specific things multiple times but it kept looking the same, I asked for a braid, she asked if a twist was ok, I got neither. It was falling out within two hours of wearing it. I couldn’t stay long enough to get it fixed and just had to eat $100 for a hair style I honestly could have done better myself. Super disappointing experience.

I have been a loyal client of Blowoutjunkie for two years now, and I thoroughly enjoy every visit. I always book my appointments with Jasmine because she is the best stylist I have ever had. She truly understands my hair and how I like it. The stylist I choose is very important to me, and I take great pride in having Jasmine as my stylist. Overall, Blowoutjunkie has given me a lot of confidence and happiness.

I like the stylists this isn’t about them at all… I keep getting random unauthorized charges on my card. I’ve reached out multiple times and have been told the owner is not available and I’d get a call back from her. No one has ever called me back. Something is up with the owner and very deceptive business practices. I read other reviews and see this is a more common theme. Will be cancelling my membership here. Owner- If you’re reading this, I have emails with you copied and you never responded. I know my account is on high alert because I saw it on the computer screen at the checkout desk. You’re still unable to address or contact me back which blows my mind.

I went there about a week ago for hair and makeup. The stylist who did my hair at first pretty much did whatver she wanted. I asked for beach waves and....I didn't get them. She didn't even ask me how I part my hair or do any sort of parting of my hair. She left it all crooked. She left the chair as soon as she finished. I wanted to ask to fix the crooked line but she was gone. i went on to makeup and asked them if we can fix my part and she said after my makeup is done. She was super nice and professional. Loved my makeup! She told another stylist I asked for a quick retouch because some parts of my hair were straight some wavy. It looked weird. The stylist, Luz, asked me what i had asked for and I said beach waves. She was nice enough to redo it and I loved the way it came out! She was attentive and had a good attitude. I would go back to her but not the first girl.

Listen, the girl who provided my service was pleasant but my blowout was trash. I have naturally curly hair (2a) and my hair was super frizzy when I left. I asked her to use a boar brush and told her to pull. You need tension to straighten curls! The girl didn’t know how to style curtain bangs either. I asked her to re-wet my hair and I literally took the brush and gave her a tutorial. Even so, I went home and took a flat iron to my hair to make it look better. The prices are reasonable but unless you have naturally STRAIGHT hair, I would not recommend for curly clients.

Unprofessional. Booked a 1:15pm appt and arrived 5 min early as requested. The girl I was assigned to didn’t seem to know about my appt and they kept saying it would be 10 more min. I asked them if I would be able to be out by a certain time, as I had an event I still needed to get ready for. She danced around the question and didn’t say yes, but didn’t tell me no either. Finally, I asked how much longer it would take to get seated as it had been 30 minutes past my appt time now and I didn’t want to be late to my event. She gave me attitude and never apologized for the delay, and that is when I decided to leave. Complete disregard for people’s time! I wouldn’t have minded as much nor left a negative review if they were honest and apologetic. I have never had a blowout or style here but doubt I will be back !!

Booked 2 blowout services for my friend and I and they cancelled the appointment without even telling us. Super unprofessional. The stylist was Ryla. I had my friend drive out 2 hours and spent over an hour trying to sort it out. Really unprofessional do not book your appointments here

Booked my appointment and arrived at 11:25 because they ask you to arrive 5 minutes early. Both my email confirmation and phone call/voicemail stated my appointment was at 11:30, but when I arrived, they insisted my appointment wasn’t until 11:45 which at first wasn’t a big deal, but then they were late getting to me after waiting more than 20 minutes. When I told the girl doing my hair what I wanted, she didn’t understand what a half ponytail was even after I demonstrated to her what I wanted. Rather than trying to understand, she made several suggestions until I finally agreed to one which ended up being a braid, which was a $10 up- charge, because I didn’t want to keep trying to explain what I wanted and at this point, I didn’t have the time. I ended up leaving with a braid I did not like and took out as soon as I got home. When I booked the appointment, I put that I wanted a bun or ponytail and she didn’t even mention that when I sat down, she asked why I was there like she hadn’t even looked at my appointment. Very disappointed.

Everyone at Blowout Junkie is amazing. As a photographer I often am asked for recommendations on hair + makeup artist and everyone at Blowout Junkie always blows me away me not only with their talents but also their professionalism. I have to give a special shout out to Kiley, because her makeup abilities are seriously out of this world. From my getting my own makeup done, to clients on weddings and boudoir shoots, everyone walks away not only loving the experience but also by Kiley's amazing and warm personality. On top of that I feel I have to mention, they kept everything so safe during Covid that made both me and my clients comfortable. Blowout Junkie, you rock!! Thank you for making both me and my clients feel amazing and SO confident.

I asked for a style straight off the menu and even showed an example photo. My hair looked nothing like the photo but I'm not confrontational so I just let it be. I could feel the other stylist's looks but was so uncomfortable I had to leave. Upon payment they didn't even ask how things went. I followed up via email with photos to share my discontent and never heard back. I even sent another email to check if they had received it. Perhaps they just don't care about bad service.

Shaquitta Booker omg!!! . My hair never looked healthier, fresh and clean. I had my appointment with her early this morning she will literally makes you look like a star. She is the the most talented stylists at blowout out junkie. She gave me two wash , style my hair with blow-dryer and hot tools. Ask for her you won't regret. Thank you Shaquitta.
