I got a wash, condition, trim, and natural hair twist. I'm very happy with how it turned out, and the speed at which my hair was done! I was out of there 1.5 hours earlier than I'd estimated (been to many other salons so I know what's up lol) I'll be back 😎

I had my 1st appointment at Bohemian Soul today and it was amazing. The aesthetic of the salon is vibrant and welcoming.The price of the services are also very reasonable. My services included a wash, treatment, trim and medium two strand twist. Deitra gave me a friendly and warm welcome to her salon. Her energy made me feel completely at ease and I instantly knew I would be in good hands. Dietra was gentle and precise which resulted in my beyond satisfaction of the finished style. I was nervous I would leave with much of my hair chopped off but Dietra trimmed my hair which left me with length retention. I would gladly recommend Bohemian Soul.

It was an amazing experience. I’ve been researching natural hair salons for a while, trying to find one that is affordable and caring. Deitra did a great job and was really helpful. I look forward to coming back!

This review is not so much about the silk press I received in 2016 on Nostrand Ave, but rather about the customer service. An african lady did my silk press and she did a great job. I paid a lot for the service. But the problem I had was when I was trying to call a cab by the waiting area (pre-pandemic). A black lady by the receptionist desk did not want me in the waiting room at all and repeatedly and rudely told me to go outside. This is in January 2016 in the freezing cold. I politely asked the black lady if they knew a cab service that I can call. She physically pushed me to the door outside and said "youre a pretty girl, figure it out" and slammed the door in my face. I was embarassed. I was 19. I paid a lot of money for my hair and I wanted basic help. Some black businesses have the worst customer service.

I came for a mini twist deluxe with Deitra. I loved the environment, the music, and the style. She was very knowledgeable about natural hair and answered all my questions. She made my hair come back to life. The deep conditioning, wash, trim, and style were wonderful. Thank you and I’ll be back again!

I had the signature mini twists styled last week. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment was scheduled to start and Deitra actually started my appointment early! She was super pleasant and professional, made me feel relaxed since this was the first time I was getting this style. She was super efficient, used our time together wisely and gave me good instructions on how to maintain my style. I definitely plan to go back to this salon to try other styles. My stylist Solomon is the greatest. He has bought my hair back to life and made it grow again. He really knows how to cut and style short hair. He is also very kind and professional. The owner Dietra is also very friendly and warm. I love this place the ambiance and the atmosphere. They really know natural hair. They also sell hair products and beautiful hair ornaments including headbands and hair jewelry.

I asked my stylist for a TRIM to even out my bob and ended up with a full blown rounded out CUT that I truly hated. I said I just wanted both sides of my hair to match, explaining it 2 or 3 times so I feel my stylist wasn't listening/my goal was not taken into consideration and it ended up being a disaster. I cried the whole walk home and when I got there I immediately took out my twists, showered and was so upset I ended up cutting off most of my hair just to try and achieve what I wanted which meant I needed a professional cut again. I reached out to my stylist and he tried to explain saying you can't just cut straight across but I wish he would have told me he wasn't comfortable doing that before cutting my hair. I asked for help and he offered to fix it but the trust was non existent and I and ended up going somewhere else. You may have a better experience if you take in a photo of what you want your hair to look like, which may have saved me and made this a better experience. *cries*

This is such a wonderful hair salon. I searched for a great natural hair salon for years and finally stumbled upon this gem about one year ago!!!! At Bohemian Soul I can easily book my appointment online and like magic, when I arrive at the salon my stylist Solomon is there to greet me...on time and with a smile ☺️. The service is exceptional, the atmosphere is delightful and their prices are reasonable. If you’ve been on the hunt for all these amenities look no further. Book your appointment today and you will not be disappointed. I saw some very old negative reviews for a previous stylist who no longer works there. Look, I’ve been getting my hair done at Bohemian for about a year and I have never had one issue come up. #Facts
