What makes this place so great is not only the work that Kathy does, but how much of a gem she is. She insisted on coming in on her day off for me as I was leaving town and she just wanted to make sure I looked and felt good as I started my new career. In regards to her work, she took time to cut my hair exactly how I wanted it and didn't try to sell me on services I didn't need, something I truly appreciate. Can't recommend this place enough.

The lovely lady that cut my hair is so sincere and into her work. She is a personal friend to all of her regulars and treats everyone like family. She cared about what I had to say and did a wonderful job depicting what it is I was asking from my hair cut. They are a complete salon besides waxing and I would recommend her for hair since that was my experience. She is So So SO sweet though oh my gosh. Check her out.

I just moved close to Bohnel Salon and recently had my first pedicure there. Kathy was wonderful! Her salon is so clean and well organized. She was a delight to talk with and my toes have never looked so good!

I really enjoy going to Bohnel to see Kathy! She offers a high quality haircut experience, and her prices are very reasonable. Additionally, Kathy is such a kind, considerate and thoughtful person, and it's wonderful to interact with her. I love this place. Kathy is an excellent stylist, but more importantly to me, she's a wonderful conversationalist. I have never had a bad experience. It's impossible to return to any other stylist now. I always leave feeling more confident with my new haircut, but also completely happy from just chatting with Kathy. There is no place better in Portland to go. There is absolutely no way you don't leave with a smile on your face.

I've been coming here for a few years ever since I first moved to the neighborhood. Kathy is wonderful and cuts all haircuts for the whole family. She's also the first I've encountered to show so much passion and care in this field of business. She has a customer for life. 🙏

Just wow! I came here after getting a terrible haircut at a chain salon and needed it to be fixed fairly urgently before I went on my honeymoon. Kathy was able to schedule me with short notice and gave me truly the best haircut experience I've EVER had, for about the same price as the chain salon I'd been to previously. As soon as I came in the door she offered me a beverage and snacks, then spent a full hour making my hair absolutely perfect. At the chain salon one week prior, I had shown the stylist a reference photo of a layered cut, which she looked at for about half a second and proceeded to give me a haircut that looked nothing like the photo (flat, lifeless, drab, and uneven). When I showed Kathy the same reference photo, she took care to look at it in detail, asked me questions about it, and gave me a stunning haircut that was exactly what I was hoping for. She made certain that I was happy with the cut before I left. She is a lovely person to converse with and is incredibly knowledgeable about hair. At the end, she insisted that I take a handful of candy for my honeymoon flight later this week. All in all a wonderful experience and I will always come back here for my hair needs!

Kathy does a great job! She is flexible with her schedule, listens and gives ideas for welcome changes to hair cuts and color. I always leave very satisfied and love my latest cut! I’ve been seeing her for seven years and always happy with the outcome.

Kathy is great at what she does and is such a unique and interesting person to talk to. I always enjoy our conversations and appreciate how hard of a worker she is and how she prioritizes maintaining a relationship with each of her clients. She's been able to get me in the same day each time I've called to book an appointment which has been very convenient. I highly recommend this establishment for hair cuts.

I have been coming to Kathy for over seven years. She is an incredibly talented and kind hairstylist. No matter what I always feel at home inside of her salon. She is very knowledgeable about hair, and make sure that you know what she can or cannot do before wasting your time or money. I always leave feeling beautiful and loved! This place has nothing but 5 stars for a reason. I live in the neighborhood and have walked by many times. I was not sure if they did mens cuts, but stopped in after I read some of these reviews. Kathy is absolutely amazing. I was coming from a barber place as I go for a very short cuts/fades, and Kathy has given me some of the best cuts I’ve ever had. So happy I stopped in, I understand why people come from far and away to see her. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

I have been going to Kathy and her business Bohnel Hair Salon for my last few haircuts. She cuts it perfectly every time! She is also one of the most kind people out there. You can tell she really loves her clients and her profession. I would recommend Kathy for anyone who needs a Men’s haircut or any other beauty service. My girlfriend received a pedicure from Kathy and was very pleased. Overall, Bohnel Hair Salon is a 5 star business and is the best place for any beauty service!

I just finished an awesome hair color and haircut. Kathy is very efficient and fast, my cut is cute and contemporary. The color is perfect...not too dark so it doesn't look fake, but hides my gray hairs perfectly. Just in time for a wedding party this weekend..thanks Kathy! ( And it didn't break my pocketbook!)

Many years ago my wife, a cosmetologist herself, received a bad haircut at a nearby salon and I, in a moment of inspiration, pulled into Bohnel. Kathy understood how upset she was and assured her she would fix it and she did. And now all these years later she is still giving my wife, daughter and some of our friends great haircuts! Best of all she is one of the nicest, most kind and generous people we have ever known and has become a good friend.

So this is my second time going to this place. I found it by accident and I will tell you it was a blessing. The cost is just right and the service even better. I have already recommended this place to others because I really like how the owner makes you feel like part of a family. So if your a guy or woman looking for a cut a full on manicure/pedicure you have to try this place out. As far as a hair cut goes this is the only place I will visit.
