Solid blowout for curly hair. Lasted me a whole week.

This was the best roller set I’ve ever gotten. My roots were smooth and straight, and I didn’t even opt to get a full blow dry after the rollers were taken out. The stylist was very gentle and made sure to adjust the heat on the hooded dryer when I said it was too hot. The salon is small, so I imagine they can’t take on too many clients at once, but I definitely recommend coming here for a wash and set if you have natural hair!

This salon doesn’t cater to women of color. And they make up different prices every time I come in. I’m not sure the name of the lady who did my hair but nonetheless she was very aggressively handling my hair and when i asked her that she blow my hair out instead of sitting under the dryer causing more heat to my already relaxed hair, she had an attitude and told me verbatim “that’s going to take too long”. If im paying for a service it shouldn’t matter how long it’s going to take. You’re a stylist and there to provide services no matter how long it may take. Fast forward, she had an attitude & was blowing out my hair too rough. Let me make it known that I also had track extensions in my hair. So the pulling was causing my tracks to become loose. I came in for relaxer at the very front of my hair only where the leave out was and deep condition. In the end she charged me 130$. And stated that the condition was 10$ and the rest was for the relaxer and blow out. Which doesn’t make sense because last time I came in for a relaxer it was 80$. The next month I came in for relaxer again a different stylist tried charging me 90$ and I let her know the last time I came in it was 80$. She says “oh yea, you’re right”. I used to come here as a 5 years ago but when management changed the services had gone downhill. It’s disappointing to see.

Love this place! The ladies here are so kind and do an amazing job. I’ve tried so many salons and this is by far my favorite. They take great care of my 4C hair. They accept walk ins, and are really good about trying to fit you in. Would definitely recommend!

Awesome salon and the hair stylists are great at their craft. Definitely a place to become a regular to get a good wash, rollers, and blow dry as well as hair relaxers, colors, highlights, cuts, etc. Preference that you pay and tip in cash. Credit cards are also accepted. No appointment needed - walk-ins accepted. If coming in the later part of the day, try to come by 4pm so that you can finish before their closing hours.

It is a small place but makes you feel at home! It was a last minute emergency, I came in asking for french braids for the hot sunny weather & looked amazing. Great staff as well.

I’ve experimented with countless Dominican salons in both Queens and Brooklyn when I moved back to New York until I finally found this one! I feel the same experience and skill that I know and remember from being a little girl in a Dominican hair salon. I’ve gotten my hair washed and blown by everyone in the salon and they all did an amazing job each time (no flat ironing needed afterwards like some places that cannot blow dry do). Not to mention, they are quick, efficient, and funny, kindhearted women. Thank you!

No vayan! Fui a este sitio porque estuve mirando los reviews al ver que eran personas latinas me sentí en confianza de ir hacia allá, le dije a la señora que quería un color platinado en mi cabello, ya lo tenía decolorado solo quería intensificar mi color y quería unificar mi color, el color de abajo me quedo espectacular se paso un poco de tono y quedo con una tonalidad azul pero esta bien no tuve problema con eso, arriba me lo dejo amarillo con tono naranja, me dijo que era que porque abajo ya lo tenía decolorado y arriba no, que eso iba a tomar tiempo para que me quedara del color que quería, y como tú trabajando con cabello, vas a dejar que alguien se vaya así? Ella tuvo que habérmelo tapado o dicho que no se podía, al finalizar le pague, y le dije que aún así había quedado muy insatisfecha, que no pensaba volver para allá, y simplemente me grito que yo tenía problemas, no vayan!! A veces es mejor gastar un poco más pero ir a un sitio en donde sepan, y te den el trato que te mereces como cliente, la dueña sabe mucho, pero una de las empleadas no sabe absolutamente nada! Me hubiese quedado mejor el cabello si me lo pintaba yo misma, viendo un video de YouTube 😉

Judith and her squad are the best!! She has been taking care of my natural hair for several years now and she is amazing. Her technique promotes hair growth and good health. She uses an extremely deep conditioning product in my hair called Botox that helps my hair to absorb moisture. My hair is very moisture resistant and this product opens up my hair follicle to absorb moisture but at the same time wraps the broken strands of my hair with protein to help rebuild strength. She's very gentle and doesn't break your hair off while making sure your hair is completely detangled. Big difference when using a detangling comb versus a rat tail comb on black hair. She doesn't take appointments, just walk ins, they always have a line, they know everybody by name, and they are the best hair salon in Brooklyn.

Very bad experience , they damaged my hair by using too much heat and hair spray and my hair setting didnt last even for few hours. Charges are also very high .don't recommend anyone

As an African American woman, I highly don’t recommend. I walked into the salon and said hello and the two women doing hair looked at me and continued doing hair. The salon is very small so this very awkward. One of the females getting her hair done looked at me and shaked her head as if she felt empathy for me. I stood there for a good five minutes and no one asked me what I was interested in or anything. Not sure if it was because it was Memorial Day and they wanted to leave early and not do my hair or if it was because I’m African American and they didn’t want to deal with my hair. Felt very insulted and don’t recommend.

Okay my experience was amazing they listened to what I wanted and did exactly that! The place is small but they do excellent work. They cater to all hair types. If you need your hair done go to them, it was/is money well spent. I have 4c hair type and I had a wash blowout deep conditioning and a trim it cost me $65.. see pictures for end result.

ThI went with my Spanish girlfriend who had more work done for the same style but I was charged 15 dollars more because I had natural mixed hair instead of straight Spanish hair. That's what I was told.

La empleada mayor es mucho más dócil que la otra empleada. El día que fui, fui con mis hijos y una de las empleadas me dio una mirada y puso una cara de tragedia. Pero en fin, mis hijos se comportaron de maravilla. Realmente dudo mucho que vuelva los precios son un poco elevados, por eso me tarde casi un año en volver.

Excellent service. The staff is very helpful. I am disabled and use an electric scooter. They helped me off my scooter and into the salon and into the chair and helped me chain my scooter outside and kept an eye out for me from the window. My beautician was efficient and did an excellent job coloring my hair. I was very pleased with the results. I will go there again.

When I first explained to my mother that I needed a new hair salon, she told me to go across the street because there was always a line at Bonita Beauty Salon. From my first visit there I knew that I would never leave this salon. It's been several years now, at least 6 and I will not go anywhere else to get my hair done in this world. I'm a flight attendant who works out of Chicago but I live in Italy. I call Judith the owner of this Salon in advance to make sure she will do my hair and I'm never disappointed. Over the last 2 years she has helped me out grow my relaxer and my natural hair which is curly has never been in better condition. She knows how to cut or trim hair beautifully and she takes her time with you. She also introduced me to this technique called BOTOX for the hair which is an extreme hair conditioner that leaves my hair so silky smooth and moisturized I haven't lost barely any hair in general shedding and or brushing in the last 2 years. My hair is thick, healthy and now that it's natural I'm completely satisfied with the overall transformation which can be problematic when you transition from relaxed to natural hair. Bonita beauty salon is the best salon I've ever had my hair done at and I have been to at least 20 different places over the last 25 years. She always has a line so you are best to go in when they first open because they don't take appointments, you can just walk in. The prices are reasonable, affordable and fair and Judith is the best stylist ever but she also hires those who know what they're doing and are extremely talented. When I was featured on House Hunters International, I made sure we visited "Judith's" Bonita Beauty Salon as one of my favorite places in Brooklyn and when I left the salon on film my hair was gorgeous.
