I love everything about Boss Hair Group! John, the owner, does my color and it is always fabulous. Both Anna and Aaron have cut my hair and they are both great. Most importantly though is the atmosphere from the time you walk in every single time. The entire staff is friendly and helpful and accommodating. John has truly created an environment that is fun and relaxing at the same time. It truly is my self-care happy place. I look forward to my monthly visits!

Anna Lee Jackson gave me the best haircut of my life. Golden scissors. I don't get haircuts often as I have long hair that I've worn up 98% of the time since about 2021, but I've worn my newly delicious hair down ever since my cut 3 weeks ago. And not just a great haircut -- she's pretty awesome all around.

Had an amazing hair cut from Anna Lee and I will now forever be going here! The ambience is so chic, the receptionist was so warm and welcoming. Even recommending me products that I ended up purchasing. I highly recommend this place and a huge plus is that they use eco friendly products!

Best hair experience in Chicago! From Mandie at the front desk with her vibrant energy & organization, to Ren with her incredible color, to Ramona with her magic scissors to cut and style & Anna who is an absolute MAGICIAN at extensions. If you’re a boss, you need to go to Boss!

Aaron David is the BEST!! My extremely curly, crazy hair is truly “my thing” and because I love it so, it was incredibly important for me to find someone in Chicago long ago that understood curly hair, what I envisioned, concerns, ect... I could not be more grateful that I met Aaron several years ago and he has been cutting my hair ever since! In fact, I’ve followed him to salons and will continue follow as long as he is working his magic with hair. Every single time I go, I sincerely have such a great experience from the moment I walk in and after my cut, I never feel pressure to do or get anything I’m not comfortable with. At the same time, I trust my hair with Aaron 100% & recommend him to ANYONE who is looking for an incredible, extremely talented person to work with / cut your hair. Go now!

Love this place! Alison always helps me decide what to do with my color and has never steered me wrong. The last time I went she color corrected me after chlorine turned my hair green on vacation :)

I recommend Alison for Coloring and Ramona for Cut. I've gone to Boss for several coloring and cut apts, even brought my mom, and always had perfect experiences. Alison is super talented and great at bringing your hair ideas to life. I recently moved and waited to visit Chi again to get her to do my hair. Unfortunately, she had a family emergency and I rescheduled with John and Rayna. I wouldn't recommend them bc 1.) John is very skilled but I did not experience the same level of execution as w/ Alison; my balayage is fresh but he missed on key things I shared (lighter for spring, esp front piece). 2.) Rayna is newer, but I had many problems with my cut (my bangs were uneven and my layers are choppy). She graciously fixed my bangs, but for $95 getting the cut right is important. Overall, this salon is high-quality (also gotten a great cut from Aaron) but you should always do your research on who you book. Look at their works on IG and provide as much context of what you want as possible. Also, try not to get your hair styled after the cut bc the styling can make the actual cut look diff.

Jon has been my colorist for over 15 years and each year keeps getting better which seems impossible because he’s been perfect from day one. I love the blonde he makes me! Romana has been blowing out my hair and her work is impeccable. I highly recommend this duo if you are looking for the best in Chicago.

Love this place! Super cute inside and feels very lively and fun when you come in, good vibes. The people are super sweet and friendly too. Reyna is UNBELIEVABLE- I am very very picky on not only who cuts my hair but how my hair is done and I always have full faith and trust that Reyna will cut my hair exactly how I want. I’ve been going to her for several years now and she’s very good at listening to what I tell her and making my vision come to life! She is a BOSS and fits perfectly at BOSS HAIR GROUP. 🙌😍

Go see Reyna! I met her 7 years ago while I was bartending and complemented her friends hair, she pointed at Reyna and said “this is my hair stylist!” Been seeing her ever since!! I’ve followed her from salon to salon, and I now love Boss Hair Group. She’s given me everything from a sleek bob to long layers down my back. Won’t let anyone else cut my hair 🩷

Ren and her assistants are consistently excellent at what they do! I’ve been coming here for balayage and glosses every 5 weeks for years. I trust Ren to do what is best for my hair. My visits are always a pleasure - everyone is so kind - and my hair has grown healthy and happy.

Boss Hair Group is the best place to go to for hair color/cut/style in Chicago. The exceptional customer service, professionalism, courtesy, and most importantly, fabulous results make me feel youthful, refreshed and so lucky to have found this place. As long as I live in Chicago - actually, as long as I live in the mid-west - I will always get my hair colored, cut, and blown out at Boss Hair Group. Just a few of my favorite people there: Blu (of course), Sergio, Angelina, & Aaron - but that's just because they've done my hair or engaged with me. Everyone here is super friendly. Again, this place is truly a gift to anyone seeking a high quality place to get their hair done.

I followed my hair stylist (Reyna) to Boss Hair Group when she left her previous salon, and I am in love with the atmosphere. The space itself is colorful and chic, but the energy here is what makes you feel so comfortable. Great music, kind and FRIENDLY people. If you’re looking for a new go-to salon, I’d absolutely recommend Boss Hair Group.

Was referred here by my stylist as they were overbooked. Unwelcoming and unaccommodating. Did not tell me about a $45 “gloss charge”. I didn’t ask for this and it felt like they were trying to sneak in a fee without even explaining before hand what they were doing. I came here because I wanted to get my hair done, I left this place in tears, and with what felt like an unfinished hair-do. I never write reviews but I felt the need to after this experience.

If you’re looking for the best master colorist in Chicago, you can stop looking. Go to Blue…he is amazing. Over the years when deciding I wanted to make a dramatic change in my hair color, I have never been nervous, because I know when I walk out it will be amazing. I highly recommend Blue. Bonus: he makes the experience so fun! This was my first time with Ramona for cut/style. I was a little nervous (not much tho, because I knew Blue wouldn’t have anyone working in his Salon that wasn’t top notch). Ramona did what lots of stylists struggle with. I have wavy/curly fine hair that I like to wear curly sometimes, wavy sometimes, and straight sometimes. To get a cut that looks good styled all three ways has often felt like a lost cause. But Ramona nailed it. I couldn’t be happier with the flexibility I now have with my hair. So if you have wavy, curly, or straight hair (or all three), Ramona is amazing! Bonus: she’s a sweetheart (though I’m still waiting for that coconut cake recipe…)
