We didn't have any services here, but wanted to leave a shout out: this place let us shelter here during the tornado on 7/31/2 4. We tried to stop at the Buffalo wild wings next door, and their staff had the door locked and refused to let us in. The people at Boss Studios let us come in and were very kind to myself and especially my daughter who was extremely frightened. These are good people, and deserve your business!

Shala does unfair business. I took a haircut appointment with her and mentioned that I have a groupon that I would like to use. She asked me to share the groupon with her via text. She immediately redeemed the groupon (more than a week before my scheduled appointment!). When I showed up for my appointment, Shala wasn't there and stopped responding to my texts or calls. Shala cheats her customers like this and very unprofessional. Do not trust her for anything.

I have been renting space here for over a year now for Ellie Mack Beauty. I LOVE this place! The owners are hands-on and really care about the people and the property. The other businesses are friendly, professional, and do FANTASTIC work. If you are considering getting services done by someone here… DO IT!!!

Sorry to all of boss studios since this is only to shala, unfortunately she's ruining your ratings - ***do not book with her. She needs to figure out how to communicate properly and be professional. I came to the studios to see that she just started with another client. I didn't want to interrupt her so I left a text which she responded to half an hour later and said that she's behind and needs to reschedule. No apologizes either. I'm curious why she even works and promotes her "services" on a platform like Groupon.

This review is for Shala. I was leery to go to her because she said she could wash condition and cut my hair and dry it all in 30 minutes. I went anyway. I told her not to cut any length off. She cut length off and a lot of it and she also cut my hair straight across in the back which was completely different than the hairstyle I had. The back is even crooked. She took all my length off and cut my bangs so short I can't even get them in a curling iron. My hair has absolutely no shape and style now. Do not buy this Groupon and use her to do your hair. I don't think she has any talent. Then on top of it I have light blonde hair and she offered to color my hair and wanted to make it darker. I don't think she knows how to do light blonde hair or she would have just kept it like I've always had it and not tried to change me.

My 16 yr old daughter bought 2 Groupons on Black Friday to see Shala and surprised me with them. I have been trying to reach Shala since November to try and schedule an appointment for both my daughter and myself. Groupon expires on the 24th of February. I literally called her everyday from feb 1st-15th. She is not professional at all. No urgency or punctuality to call me back or even send a text msg. as I said it was okay to. I decided I wasn’t going to wait anymore as 3 months is plenty of time for her to get back to me. I requested a refund on Groupon for both on feb 15th and Shala finally called me back on the 16th. Was very unprofessional rude and hung up on me when I told her there was no longer a need to schedule an appointment as I just asked for a refund for the Groupon as it was about to expire. Would not recommend wasting your time with Shala! As for the rest of BOSS studios I couldn’t tell ya. But definitely felt like I was treated differently for using Groupon

Boss Studios is a great concept. I enjoy the small self-operated studio. Marcie has cut and colored my hair for many years at different salons. Her salon at Boss Studios is my favorite.

I bought the Groupon for Shala. Don't do it but if you do be ready for her to ghost your calls, finally text you to schedule months out and then not show up for that appointment. I messaged groupon and told them I understand their policy however they should know that this vendor makes it impossible to redeem the groupon, I sent them our texts and the number of times I called her, I directed them to the Google reviews and received a full refund. I tell you this because if you find yourself in the same position I and many others found themselves in, I want you to get your money back as well.

I made an appt with shala at boss and I drove all the way from Iowa to be there and wasted my gas. I realized she was already 10 minutes late and called her like 4 times and she then texts me back that she is sick and can’t make it. She’s extremely unprofessional and had a complete lack of consideration. Her excuse was that she had texted me earlier and had the wrong number for me which is completely a lie because she had my number in her phone as we had spoke previously when scheduling the appt. She really should not be working at all. Unfortunately boss studios is independent and there’s no management that can discipline unacceptable service conduct. So these people that work there can cancel and leave people hanging whenever they want without any punishment. I highly recommend not to work with anyone at boss studios and especially shala! Super ridiculous.

I purchased a Groupon. Called over a handful of times and left 3 voicemails. No response. Very unprofessional. I’ve had to reach out to Groupon to refund my money. Don’t do it! Big big waste of time!

I purchased a Groupon for Shala that included a haircut, style and deep conditioning treatment... I was in the chair a total of 24 minutes and left with wet half blow dried hair.. and there was no "deep conditioning"... Be careful what you pay for the.. the services weren't received.

I've seen a couple different hair stylists at Boss Studios and they always do an excellent job! Simple, no frills place that will get you the results you want. Their Groupon deals are a lifesaver!
