I cannot emphasize enough how much I enjoyed my experience with Miriam! Not only did she listen to my vision, but she also gave great advice on how to mesh my hair goals with my budget and the amount of time I would like to space between appointments. I felt so relaxed and comfortable in her chair and would recommend her to anyone looking for a great cut, color, and style!

Miriam at Bristles is amazing! She always can see my vision and take my hair to the next level! I keep going back because each haircut I get from her I leave thinking “okay THIS is my favorite haircut I’ve ever had”. I think this is because over the past 2 years she’s gotten to know me better and my hair as well. I always recommend her to anyone looking for a haircut. If you want great hair, ask for Miriam!!

I'm someone who is super picky about who I let cut my hair, and usually I attempt to do it myself. But I've taken the time to find someone I wholeheartedly trust! Miriam is so amazing and absolutely slays every funky hair cut idea I bring to her! I can't thank her enough for the hardwork and effort she puts in to make sure I'm happy with my haircut! Whether you're looking for something neutral or something funky and colorful I highly recommend Miriam! She'll work with you to make touch ups or little trims that make a big difference🩷💅🏻

Miriam is an absolute angel. I’m really bad about keeping up with haircuts AND I like to experiment with more vivid colors. Miriam is game for any idea I throw her way, and gives me a beautiful cut every time. She’s incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and I can’t recommend her enough

I cannot say enough good things about Vanessa. For the last 15 years I have avoided going to the hair salon and just cut my own hair because I felt like I always left a hair salon dissatisfied and having just paid a lot for a haircut I didn't even like. Well...not anymore. Vanessa listened and then advised, and gave me the best haircut I've ever had- I was SO excited then, and weeks later I still love it. I will only go to Vanessa from now on. AND it was reasonably prices AND fast! I've spent wayy more for a crappy haircut, being guilted in to buying beauty products I didn't want and will never use, and it took twice as long. Literally Vanessa is a genius. 15/10 would recommend.

Omg, FINALLY found someone who truly knows how to color hair. My hair has been steadily bleached out for over 5 years. I finally found Courtney!! She fixed my hair with beautiful highlights… I had died it at home because every time I had it done it was getting worse. It looks so good now, the color and highlights are perfect. Just wish I’d found her a long time ago! I finally feel pretty.

Ceecee did such a fabulous job on my mother in law's hair with color, cut and styling. After living in VA for 3 yrs and not being able to find a stylist, she has found her spot. Everyone is so pleasant, professional and friendly. The best part was my father in law loved how my mother in law's hair came out. Allisson also did a great job cutting and styling my father in law's hair. In 62 years, other then his wife, no one else has cut his hair, until Allisson. Thank you Ceecee and Allison for the great job and thank you Bristles for the professionalism.

Nicci was spot on with my haircut. After a botched hair color appointment at a nearby salon, I was really disheartened with my hair in general. I can’t color it for a while but I wanted to atleast get a cut to give it some life again. She knew exactly what I wanted and needed from the minute I sat in the chair. She was wonderful and I’ll be coming back in the fall to see her again for a cut and color. So glad I found my stylist in Charlottesville!

Sarah Foster is the only stylist I will allow to touch my hair. She has worked overtime the last year and a half to repair my blonde hair from consistent hair damage/breakage from a former stylist in Radford VA. I am so excited for my highlight appointment this upcoming Wednesday :)

I had a red balayage service with Miriam and she was AMAZING. Had tried with 8 hairstylist before and I was never able to get what I wanted done on my hair. Was so nervous since I had a bad experience with another hairstylist when I wanted to get may hair red but with Miriam was a really good experience. She gave me ideas, showed me shades of colors, she did an amazing layer cut on my hair. Is just like she picked my brain and did exactly what I wanted to get done. I will definitely book with her next time!

I have waited 3 months for this appointment just for venessa to tell me that she’s not willing to touch my hair. They wasted my time , I could have booked another salon. She was busy and she had another client waiting after me. The minute she saw me she acted like she’s never seen a hair before. Disappointed!!

Was in town visiting family for the holidays and needed a haircut. Don't understand the raves. The place is a dump and the prices way to much for a place of this low caliber.
