I had such a great experience yesterday with my hairstylist, Pelumi. I had been hesitant about returning to a salon after past experiences that left me feeling uncomfortable—something I realize stemmed from the non-existing diversity at other salons. But from the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and completely at ease with Pelumi and the rest of the staff. I’ll definitely be keeping her and the salon in mind for any future hair needs.

Alexis I had an amazing experience with Alexis! From the moment I sat down, she listened to me as I explained my hair history, including a past bad experience that made me hesitant to see a hairdresser again. I mentioned I really wanted to keep my hair long, and Alexis checked in throughout the cut, making sure I was happy with how things were progressing. The result? Exactly the haircut I was looking for! On top of that, Alexis was helpful when I asked for product recommendations to make my hair easier to manage day to day. I can’t recommend her enough.

I recently had highlights done by Raul, and I couldn't be happier with the results! He took the time to listen to what I wanted and delivered exactly that. My hair looks stunning! I also got a haircut from Marilyn, who was equally fantastic. Both of them provided excellent service and made me feel truly pampered. Highly recommend this salon!

I’ve been coming to Butterfly Studio for years and love it. Sinead has been doing my color and I love it. She takes care to recommend the appropriate color for my complexion and the results are beautiful. It’s a relaxing, almost spa like environment and the staff is friendly (bonus: you can get a glass of wine while you’re getting your hair cut or colored)! Highly recommend!

You would think that a place that charges super premium prices, would provide customer service inline with its prices. I have been a client for few years and for the first time today i was 15 minutes to my appointment , so they have a new policy to charge a late fee. They charged my credit card with out my consent $86.00 late fee. On top of that they didn't accept me and didn't offer a time slot for today. This year alone they have been raising prices every single time i had a cut. My advise is not to allow them to keep your credit card information on their computer, and don't be late if you don't want to be charged a late fee.

Dominique! Is amazing. I know she is still training but wow. My sister and I were truly blown away by her work, the style and cut “chefs kiss”. She did an incredible job. This woman deserves her flowers for how amazing of a job she did. However I was not fond of how short and rude the “head teacher” was she unpleasant and bothered. I know it’s a lot to be there helping your client while also helping a student but her blatant rudeness was seen and she shouldn’t be the one people should learn from. She had orange like straight hair and glasses. Other than that Dominique is amazing and she is the only reason why I would return. Her customer service skills and her patience are outstanding.

I found Butterfly Studio through a search for L'Oreal Professional Salons in NYC. The staff is top notch. Each client is greeted by name and made to feel welcome and comfortable. Joanna Gonzalez is an accomplished artist with INOA. My hair is vibrant and healthy thanks to her mad skills. Angie has given me a long, layered cut with incredible movement and the bottleneck bangs I've always dreamed of. Her blowouts last a week without the need for additional hot tools. I am a Butterly Salon devotee! No other salon compares.

See Dana for the best cut / blowout in the game - and pura luxe treatment if you're looking for a smooth treatment! I'd been searching for a smoothing treatment for over ten years that's clean, works on highlighted hair, and doesn't reduce volume and finally found it. Could not recommend more highly, thank you so much Dana!!

It was my second time here and got a haircut by Stacey - who is the highest priced stylist along with another one. She is very talented but as I read in other reviews the time for each haircut is not enough and she appears to be in a hurry / rude. I commented once that the layers were not enough and she responded that she won’t do this back and forth and that she will dry my hair first. When it was dry I pointed again that I want more layers - she did the layers while my hair was dry and she didn’t do them very diligently as there were big gaps between them and looked harsh. I pointed that I believe they need to be more smooth vs have steps and she fixed it again in a hurry. She didn’t do the blow out but asked someone else to do that. I read many reviews and seems Dana is better so I’ll go with her next time

Cortney Crace is the only person in the world I let touch my head. She is the real deal…she always knows exactly how much hair to cut and cuts it in the perfect shape every time. She does a killer blow dry. She has impeccable taste in all things. And she is a pleasure to spend time with. I always leave my time with her looking and feeling like a million bucks.

I have been a long time patron of Butterfly Studio. All the women and men are quite talented. My colorist, Joanna Gonzalez, is extremely skilled with Red hair color. She has colored my hair every shade of Red with the utmost creativity and thoughtfulness. I have received COUNTLESS compliments through the years. If you are interested in going Red, look no further as she is truly masterful! My stylist, Marilyn Fonseca, is just as masterful with a pair of scissors and hot tools! I love a lot of volume and texture in my hair and she never disappoints. Her blowouts and styling create such an effortless and fashionable style that last for days. Both women are artists in their own right and there is honestly no one else I would rather have touch my hair! The salon staff is so courteous and friendly! It's always like visiting a group of friends, as everyone is always SO welcoming. I truly can't imagine ever going anywhere else!

I have been going to the Butterfly Salon Studio for about a year. It is the best salon I have ever gone to. What great luck to have found the fabulous, fun and outstandingly brilliant Sinead. She is, without a doubt the best colorist I have ever seen. She does a great job of with my overall hair color so that is incredibly natural and she paints on my highlights so that they sparkle! I always I walk out feeling confident that I look my best. But Sinead is only 1/2 of my Butterfly dynamic duo! Anderson, is my hair stylist extraordinaire, when he was cutting my hair for the first time he noted that my hair was curly, I just thought that my hair was frizzy, but suddenly after I don't want to say how many years-I am fully me with a full head of curls - that are slightly wild - that truly is the best me I have ever been! I found the Butterfly Studio Salon by reading reviews on Google, and if you're smart and looking for a great salon with the cream of the crop stylists you'll give them a try, I know the best when I see it and you won't be sorry !

I have been seeing Joanna Gonzalez for my color for over 8 years. She is a perfectionist, professional and extremely pleasant. My grays come in monthly so I see her a lot…and Butterfly Studio has provided wonderful service throughout. I've been going to Faye for my single process color for more than 10 years and would NEVER trust my locks to anyone else. Her attention to detail is unparalleled. Her deep knowledge of how hair responds to color has served me so well. And she is one of the kindest people I know so sitting in her chair every four weeks to get my roots done is a pleasure! I've never written a Google review before, and this one is long overdue, but I've gone to Stacey for 10+ years for haircuts and straightening, and there is no one better! I have curly but fine hair, and I've spent most of my life trying to find someone to make it look good: enter Stacey. Now I don't let anyone else touch my hair. I have even had her do my sister's hair, which is much more complicated. If being excellent at her job isn't enough, Stacey is warm and funny and gives great advice on all things haircare (like convincing me not to get bangs, which was the absolute right decision) and otherwise. I recently had a son, and as a mom of boys herself, Stacey just gets it, "it" being your hair growing in thick, falling out, changing texture, etc. but also life things, like not having enough time in your day to do anything. She even came in recently on a day off to accommodate me. She is worth every penny and more!

I’ve been a client of Faye C’s for a couple years, I found her leading up to my wedding as I was looking for someone who was excellent with brunette to blonde highlights and who I could trust to make my hair look incredible for my big day. Faye exceeded my expectations and beyond!! And that is coming from someone who is very particular and notices every detail. I’ve been seeing her ever since and my color is the best it’s ever been. I get complimented all the time on it, and every time I see her I leave so happy. Not to mention, she is just an overall wonderful person, such a warm personality and she’s become a friend. I always look forward to coming to the salon and catching up with her. Also, she gets my blonde so perfect every time and my highlights SO close to my roots in a way no one else has or takes the time to do (she definitely puts in the extra time and effort to go the extra mile to make sure she is giving me the best service and results possible and it shows, she gets all the baby hairs too). I also used to have so much more breakage after getting highlights but whatever she does has helped me be able to go very blonde to the level I want but without destroying my hair, so that’s a big win for me because I’ve struggled with that in the past! I couldn’t have more positive things to say about Faye, and highly recommend for anyone looking for amazing color and such an enjoyable experience. I feel SO lucky to have found her!!!

I’ve been coming to butterfly consistently since 2021 once a week! Cortney is my go to and she’s the only person I would let cut my hair / style it in general. She’s the best!!! I also see Sinead for color. Can’t recommend them enough. The front desk has always been accommodating to me and the whole team is great. Can’t recommend this salon enough.

I’ve been going to Butterfly Studio for the last several years. My hair has never looked better. I get Balyage with Reluca, haircut with Anderson and Dana does my Pura Luxe treatment. It’s the first time in years I’m doing all this and don’t have breakage or damage. It’s very relaxing here with a great vibe. Highly recommended!

Joanna is the best hair colorist! She is amazing! Joanna is kind and very professional. I have several years doing my highlights with Joanna, and she always makes me happy with her work. She understands my hair and knows how to get the perfect highlights color if is either to a honey or a sun kiss or any other lighter tones which is not easy to do with black curly hair. She is also very good in keeping my hair healthy with treatments after coloring. Joanna is the coloring queen, specially for people that have to lighten their hair from black. She gets it!! Julianna is the best hairstylist! She is very professional and focused on her work once you sits on her chair. She has been cutting my hair for several years now, and I have no complaints about my cuts with her. She does magic to your haircuts. I always like a fresh on trend haircut, and she achieves that! She keeps my hair long and healthy after any haircuts, and does very beautiful soft beach waves which I love. She also gives you great recommendations to keep your hair healthy. My haircuts with Julianna are always the hottest, perfect. Both Joanna and Julianna are amazing! And I really recommend them. They are my favorites!

Wow! I cannot say enough great things about Cortney at Butterfly. She is truly an artist and helped me to understand what hairstyle actually works for my face. I was impressed by her professionalism and also the way she made me feel comfortable and relaxed during my appointment. The whole staff at the salon made me feel comfortable and treated me like a guest in their home. I can't wait to come back and would highly recommend anyone to book with Cortney and Butterfly.

This place is criminal do not come here. Manager is arrogant and disrespectful and couldn’t take accountability for the horrible damage done to the hair. I’ve been dying my hair for 15 years and she tried to gaslight me by saying TOTAL breakage and underdeveloped dye is normal. And then lied and said the owner is “on leave”. It’s been a year and I’m still trying to repair my hair. She argued with me about a refund and upon going to another salon to help me fix it they also agreed that the hair was COMPLETELY BOTCHED and were scared to even do anything. I despise this salon and no one seems to know what they’re doing. Save yourself months of damage repair and hundreds of thousands in treatments and botched hair repair. I hope your salon gets its licensing revoked and that a formal investigation happens. Take a look at all of the negative reviews and see that I’m not the only one who has encountered horrible fraudulent service, but then are gaslit and disrespected after the fact. I really can’t say worse things about this place. This is not a hair salon. This place is a scam and your staff and manager are truly the worst and inexperienced and genuinely ruining the quality of people’s hair and scalp and then lie to your face all while charging hundreds of dollars and then arguing that you’re not owed a refund. At least I got my refund because if I didn’t I would’ve sued. This place is a mess and the manager should be ashamed of their behavior.
