I had such an amazing experience with Claudia! I booked an appointment last minute and I’m very happy with the blowout I received. She even put my hair in a shower cap to preserve the blowout which to me is extraordinary service! When I come back to New York I will definitely be back just to get a blowout. 10/10 highly recommend to anyone.

This is my second time at the salon with scarlet. She has been cutting my hair and my daughter’s hair already twice and I only have amazing things to say. Scarlet is super professional and you can see and feel she does things with love which have great results. My daughter’s hair was like stuck and it didn’t want to grow much so I decided to take her here and her hair has grown so much! I like that they take the time to ask you what would like to get done and they give you a breakdown of prices which I found to be so considerate with the client due that sometimes you just don’t have a lot of money available so like that you get a sense of what you can afford and what you can’t at that moment. Everybody at the salon is extremely attentive and nice, the aura is very calm and nice. I truly recommended it. I have not even one negative thing to say! Btw they disinfect brushes, gowns and even the chair after each client’s use!

This was one of the best salon experiences I’ve had. Ana did a fantastic job listening to both my goals and lifestyle restraints to create a look that fits me perfectly! The entire staff is incredibly kind, warm, and incredibly talented. This is the kind of place you return to again and again for both the fantastic work AND the family-like atmosphere.

She also has amazing movie recommendations! As someone who has struggled with finding the right styling products, I appreciated her advice. She recommended specific products tailored to my needs and emphasized the importance of using a heat protectant when styling with hot tools. She even showed me a quick video that demonstrated the difference it makes—such a game-changer! And, of course, I’m absolutely in love with my layers. I had been on the hunt for a full-service hair salon with flexible scheduling and expertise in cutting and coloring Asian hair when I discovered Calo in my neighborhood about a year ago. I've been getting a foilage and long-layered haircut with angles from Patricia for my past few appointments and each time she improves my style and I leave feeling more confident than ever. My hair is naturally long, thick and frizzy and, by the time I came in for my latest appointment, was also damaged and dry from overheating and the color from my prior foliage had gotten brassy. I knew I was presenting Patricia with a challenge but also trusted that if anyone can fix it, it's her. Long story short, Patricia exceeded my expectations in every way! The color blend is natural and vibrant and the cut frames my face perfectly. Patricia took the time to listen to what I wanted (which involved creating a customized color that she mixed perfectly) and gave me helpful suggestions to enhance the final look. I tend to get nervous before hair appointments especially when it comes to making noticeable changes, but I felt completely at ease in Patricia's chair. She is kind, warm, friendly and patient. She took the time to check in with me before cutting my layers to make sure I was happy with the varying lengths. I've gotten so many compliments already! The salon itself is cute, welcoming and easy to get to from all transit stations. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-tier coloring and styling at reasonable prices for the area. I booked an appointment with Viviana after going a whole year without getting a haircut due to a previous stylist at another salon totally ruining my hair. She could tell I was nervous, and she was extremely patient and kind. I had the absolute best experience with Carlos as my stylist! I came in asking for long layers and he completely nailed it, giving me the volume and the glam ‘mob wife’ vibes I’ve always dreamed of. I visited Scarlett to get a curly cut + color and could not be happier with the result! As a curly girl, having anyone touch my hair is terrifying but Scarlett knew exactly what she was doing and really listened to the issues I’ve been having with my curls. Scarlett has been my go to for every cut I've had over the last year and a half - she's extremely talented and always delivers whichever aesthetic and style you're going for! I've gone from having long to short to medium length hair, and whichever cut I ask for she absolutely kills it.

What a gem of a salon! Found them on Google Maps and went as a walk-in. Clearly they have loyal and repeat clientele because everyone that entered and left was hugging their stylist. I didn't have a lot of time and Pablo was not only happy to make sure I was on time, he didn't make me feel bad about looking at my watch, and at the same time he made sure my hair looked its best in the time he was given. I will make a point of returning and suggest if you need a pick-me-up hair care experience to go give Calo in Hell's Kitchen a try! Super easy access from midtown and a lovely break in the day!
