I wish I could give her zero stars. Ana, the owner, was so disrespectful and careless. I made an appt more than a month in advance, got there and she was busy with another client. I sat and waited for almost 30 minutes until she finally came and told me it was going to take her a little longer to see me, so I waited another 30 minutes. I went and asked her if she knew when she was going to be done and she told me she didn’t know, and asked me to go home and that she would text me when she was done. Very unprofessional, didn’t apologize or show any sympathy. she texted me the next day, she said her schedule was busy and that she was going to let me know when she could see me. Never contacted me again. Definitely a person that doesn’t care for new customers, most likely already has a lot of clients, but still, you can’t just treat people like that and you can’t waste someone else’s time like that! Egocentric and rude.

Ana is so caring, helpful and knowledgable! I’ve never had someone be so on top of a hair problem I had, then go out of her way to personally call me, talk me through how she would fix it, what I need to look out for next time, etc. She’s the kind of stylist and owner you want to do business with. 15/10 would come back to her!!

Ana did a fantastic job on my cut and color and was able to accommodate my work schedule with an evening appointment! Don’t mind the dust while she remodels :) feeling barbielicious

Ana is sweet and made me feel comfortable throughout the appointment. I never quite know what I want to get done with my hair and Ana let me look through inspiration photos while at the salon and she was helpful in figuring out what style would look best. It is clear that Ana is passionate about her work and even talked me out of getting color, so she definitely takes into account customer lifestyle over her pocketbook when advising clients. Ana is very knowledgeable about hair and has flexible scheduling.

I am extremely disappointed with my service here. First, I was asked to reschedule the day of my appointment as the owner/stylist, Ana, "had a headache". No problem - I would never want someone to work when they are not feeling well. Ana offered free product/a discounted price because of my willingness to reschedule, which I thought was really nice. However, when I got to my appointment, she ends up telling me that she really wanted to change my appointment so she could meet up with friends. Great. Secondly, I booked a service for a full highlight (which is listed on her booking website as $160) because I wanted my hair lighter. When I get there, she suggests I do a root lift, instead, because "it would make my hair lighter without the damage of bleach". As we're rinsing out my hair, she tells me to stay out of the sun because the product will turn my hair orange. I told her I am in the sun a lot and asked if I now have to wear a hat every time I go outside. She then changed her tune and said, "Oh, no that's totally fine, you won't have an issue at all". OK? Turns out it really does turn your hair orange and I had to spend another $400+ to get this corrected elsewhere. Not only that, but the entire experience was extremely weird and uncomfortable. The place was a mess (hair everywhere), which I attributed to her being really busy - don't really think that's the case anymore. She did my entire service without shoes on "because she didn't have the right shoes with her". When it was time to rinse my hair, she told me to "go meet her by the bowls" and that she was going to take a "quick toke". When she came back, she did not wash her hands and they reeked of cigarettes. It also didn't appear to be an operational space. She told me (practically when my service was over) that it was due to "renovations". Above all, she told me that her mother had just died, to which she later recanted and said "that's just what she says when she's acting weird". Wth... At the end, she charged me $150 to basically do a base color on my hair, which ended up making my hair darker and inevitably orange. When I asked her about the price, because the full highlight was supposed to be $160, she said that the full highlight would have been $300+. OK? Why not list the service as $160+ or $300+? So much for a discount.... She did honor her promise of free product, which was nice, but the whole experience was sooo weird and I feel like I got totally ripped off. Everything was so unprofessional and not at all what I expected after reading the other reviews. I strongly suggest being careful before moving forward with a service here.

I am from out of town and I was looking for the best rated hair salon in Sacramento and found this place ! Ana did not disappoint, she delivered exactly what I wanted and more ! She explained to me everything she was doing and why based on the pics I showed her I wanted and my hair type. Super sweet and knowledgeable!! Highly recommend if I could give more than 5 starts I would ! Also handled my thick Latina hair so well !

I was excited to finally get my hair done only for Ana to cancel on me right as I got in my car to leave for my appointment. She said she was experiencing chest pains which I was sympathetic to and I agreed to reschedule and gave her my schedule.What I am not sympathetic to is the fact that Ana ghosted me and left me on read. It's one thing to cancel its another to just straight up ghost someone. Truely I hope shes ok but after reading her reviews of her reputation of cancelling on clients I am just thankful I got an appointment elsewhere.

If I could give less than 1 star I would, I tried to give Ana with Candibird a chance after seeing good reviews but my experience was awful. Maybe it's my pregnancy hormones but leaving the salon I could cry, I was so excited and had been waiting for this appointment. On the day of our original appointment she told me she had to reschedule and that she would throw in $100 off product to make it right, I told her no worries and she said she could get me in the next day. I cancelled my saturday plans, and I arrive to the salon to find it locked up. I texted her and she said she was on her way but was late, I waited and said it was alll good but once inside I noticed the salon was a mess not the typical salon quality I am used to but I was willing to look past it as she shared they were under construction. We get to talking about my hair and I was very clear on my vagaro request what I was looking for, partial highlights at a diagonal weave, no toner and a cut. I have been having my hair done like this for 10 years and showed her how it always turns out. She shares she won't do my hair without a full base lift and that the price which was quoted on Vagaro for $190 was going to be $350. I shared that I am fine being a dirty blonde and lets just do partial highlights and a cut, no base lift. She said she wouldn't do what I was asking for and that if I didn't like her price I could leave. So I left. I understand that I was one month past due getting partial highlights so I would have understood a price increase to say $250 for extra foils but no, it was an 84% price increase! Truly the worst customer experience I have ever had.

Read a review about Ana cancelling 20 mins before an appointment, but was sure it would be fine. Same thing happened to me! Should have listened to the other negative reviews. Clients pay a fee for canceling less than 24 hours before an appointment but it’s fine for her to regularly cancel with so little notice I was almost in my car on my way. What a bummer! Had to scramble to find another salon and appointment so my hair would be nice for my birthday trip. Thanks for nothing!

I had the pleasure of having my hair done by Ana. She started our appointment by sitting down with me and discussing what my goals are for my hair. We looked over pictures I brought in and talked about what my options were and what would work best for my hair. Even though we decided to go with a process involving bleach, I felt completely at ease because of the amount of time Ana took assessing the health of my hair and explaining what the process would be. Personally, anytime I get my hair done, I get antsy after a couple hours, but Ana was such a delight and the time went by so quick! Not only that, but it was such an enjoyable experience all around. She finished by showing me a couple products that would help keep my hair looking and feeling the way I want; things I can do at home to avoid constant upkeep. I highly suggest you book an appointment today; your hair will thank you!

I'm so glad I found Ana! Being new to the area, I was struggling to find a quality salon, until I came across Candibird. There was a scheduling mishap with my original appointment, but Ana went above and beyond to reschedule and make everything right. She truly makes cutting hair an art form and is enjoyable to talk to during the process. I will definitely become a regular client.

Love the Candibird Salon! It took so long to find the right person & place to get my hair done right and this is it! You can bring your inspiration & Pinterest photos and walk out with the best version of that for you! My hair has never looked this good and felt so healthy! I walk out with tips & tricks on how to maintain my look & protect the health of my hair. Love the vibe & decor too! So my lady booked an appointment from this place 3 weeks ago for an afternoon appointment. The day of the appointment when she was already halfway to the salon, someone reached out and said that the stylist wasn’t in today and that they weren’t available for an appointment. They had no one else who could cover or help her out. They could only accommodate to reschedule a month out and my lady was to be a bridesmaid the next day. She had to scramble to find a new salon. If this is how they treat new clients, very unprofessional, but I believe regular customers would receive a different level of service.

When I got my hair dyed here at first I didn’t like the color my hair became (bubblegum pink) . Not long after Lauren from the salon fixed my hair into the shade I asked for a reddish tone. I’m really glad that it was fixed and that I was given information on how to make the color last on my hair such as shampoo and conditioners. If I decide to dye my hair months from now I’ll really consider coming back here.

Throughout my whole life I have been to many different salons and have experienced varying hair colors and styles. Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Ana at Candibird Salon and I was impressed beyond measure. I felt as though as I was at home when I arrived at her Salon. She offered me water or tea and I was so impressed by her level of hospitality. I have never experienced this at other salons. She did a phenomenal job with my color that I am in absolute in love with. I believe she has a passion for hair and it shows greatly in her work. There are so many hairstylist in this world, but nothing comes close to Ana. I couldn’t recommend her salon more. I am already looking to book her again and excited to go back!
