I have been seeing Darcy for over 20 years. She always listens to my wants and not only gives me what I ask for, but helps me see what will look good with my face structure and tone. Her space is so pleasant, and best of all I never have to worry about looking for or paying for parking. Double plus!! Love my color. Thanks for keeping me looking young. 😊

I have been seeing Darcy for many years now. She is amazing with extensions, color, and making sure I get exactly the look I'm going for. I am one of those people who tends to change her mind quite often. She is always up for a challenge and lots of fun to be around. I would highly recommend her for any service. Having Darcy do my wedding hair is one of the best decisions I made! 5 stars is not enough!! She was super communicative throughout the process and helped me feel calm and confident going into the day. On our wedding day, she did 5 hairstyles with vastly different hair textures & lengths and they all turned out beautifully! Each of my bridesmaids commented on how beautiful they felt & how clearly she took their idea & inspiration & brought it to life. Her kindness, positive energy, and calm personality helped create the perfect vibes for getting ready and she worked some magic to get us all done ahead of schedule! My own hair was flawless and I have never felt more beautiful! I have naturally curly, thick hair & I was worried it wouldn’t cooperate for a sleek, smooth look, but Darcy made it happen. She listened to my vision, practiced and made changes based on the trial & weather conditions to create a bridal style beyond my wildest dreams. Plus, my glam waves lasted all night through a rain storm & dance party! I would hire Darcy again in a heartbeat and I recommend her wholeheartedly to any bride-to-be!

I couldn’t be happier with this experience. I have thin hair and have been at a loss on what to do with it for a while now. Darcy gave me great advice, a wonderful cut, and then showed how to style it. For the first time in a long time I really love my hair.

I don’t trust easily and especially not when it comes to my hair. I decided to trust Darcy because I could tell from her website alone that she was an artist and loved what she does. I had a very professional, friendly, welcoming experience from the very beginning! Darcy is very knowledgeable about what she is doing and lightened my hair very nicely without causing it to feel dry and damaged. Thank you for taking good care of my long hair, keeping it healthy and soft while going from brunette to blonde!

Darcy went above and beyond for myself and my bridesmaids. She was kind, communicative, professional, and very focused on making sure we had comfortable but unique and lasting styles. From the rehearsal to the official engagement, she was empathetic and solution-oriented even when I kept presenting challenges. Everyone’s hairstyle fit them perfectly, received compliments throughout the whole night and stayed in place until after the wedding. I can’t imagine a better choice than Darcy for my wedding. She brought a pleasant and calming presence to a very stressful event and am so happy to have met her.

I cannot recommend Darcy enough! She was the perfect hair stylist for me, my bridesmaids, the MOB and my flower girl on my wedding day. I really wanted to find the perfect person to work with my naturally curly hair, and she knocked it out of the park for everyone and really captured the romantic boho vibe I was going for. Her calming demeanor and attention to detail was also a huge help on my wedding day. I would 1000% recommend her for your wedding day, I’m so glad I found her! She’s also an amazing colorist and gives a great haircut. My hair usually freaks out for a couple days after a color service, but Darcy places such a high emphasis on the health of your hair during the whole service, my curls sprung back right away. She’s super talented at what she does.

Darcy has been my stylist since I moved to Portland 4 years ago. She really listens to what I want and is honest with her feedback on if it will work with my hair or not. I've gone from blonde to lavender grey, to purple and back to blonde and my hair looks and feels healthy. She's very attentive, listens, plays good music, keeps me hydrated and makes me laugh. Darcy was the bridal hair stylist of my dreams! Seriously, I'd give her 10 stars if I could. Not only did she create an epically beautiful hairstyle for my wedding, she helped me to envision my dream hairstyle beyond the limitations I was putting on myself, given my hair's length and thickness. The hair style she created on my wedding day was far beyond my highest expectations. Add to that she is such a delight, and a super-sweet human being! She is so easy to be with-my whole nervous system was able to be at ease when I was with her. Getting ready on my wedding day, her personality was exactly what I needed to feel present and grounded in my body and heart. I entered my ceremony knowing that I was feeling and looking beautiful. I ended up finding Darcy after choosing to stop working with a more corporate company that did hair and makeup, once I determined, after a trial with this company, that they would not be able to give me the look or proper customer service that I was envisioning for my wedding day. Darcy was a breath of fresh air after that experience. She is worth every penny. I HIGHLY and emphatically recommend her bridal hair artistry for any bride-to-be.

I have been seeing Darcy for over 20 years, and she is the best! I We started at Magnum Opus and now I head to her salon space in NE Portland- which is my favorite. I am willing to drive from SW Portland for my appointments with Darcy- she is worth it! Her salon is relaxing, clean, professional, and I love that parking is never an issue. Darcy has always cut and highlighted my hair based on what I want, but is willing to suggest new ideas that get me out ruts. Darcy also did my hair and most of the bridal party at my wedding, and we all loved how our hair looked- day of and in photos. I often get compliments on my hair these days, and I always refer them to Darcy!

She gives great haircuts - just the style and length I want every time. Darcy now has her own salon which is very clean, bright and airy - and it has parking! Darcy has been my hair stylist for about 20yrs, I’m fortunate to have her not only as a stylist but can easily call her a long term friend! In this timeframe, she’s donned me with easy to maintain haircuts, color and highlighting, both of which have merited dozens of unsolicited compliments from strangers over the years! Her artistry comes at a high quality value for both my confidence and wallet. I would also recommend Darcy for consulting for actual hair CARE and scalp conditions, as she is well experienced in handling various types of hair- fine to coarse. She works her magic on many of my family members and we all have very different hair types! After 30yrs of coloring, and reached the 100% gray coverage mark, Darcy helped me transition to my natural gray, helping me see that even my chunky salt and pepper highlights can be fun, spunky and interesting…versus feeling that 50+ “washed out sunsetting professional” look! Her new salon space is definitely my favorite of all! Its all her own, relaxing, no parking issues, easy access from freeways…..and our family looks forward to our “Hank fix” every time! 😁

Darcy has been my stylist for so many years, I've lost count! I cannot say enough good things about her personally and professionally. While she is an expert colorist, I seek other services from her since I have not colored my hair since starting with her. For me - she cuts, styles and provides softening treatments for my very course hair, which I am super happy with and receive compliments on often. She's a joy to be in the presence of! The bar is set so high with Darcy. Her attention to detail and thoughtfulness was so new (to me) and appreciated. My dermatologist referred me to Darcy saying she specialized in thin hair. I already had a hairdresser at that time, but when she retired after 7 yrs I took the plunge and pulled out Darcy's business card. Before our appointment, Darcy texted to confirm and asked what my hair was like (I offered some pictures). When I arrived Darcy already had a theory for a haircut that'd best suit my hair health and taste (which she so thoughtfully guessed right from my photos). I didn't have much hair at our first appointment (yo Rogaine seriously works) but Darcy made me feel like a long haired queen. Beyond the excellent haircut, she gave me new tips on how to function with thin hair that I never heard of. Also unbeknownst to me, it turns out I have naturally wavy hair, go figure! The wet hair tips for styling wavy hair were new to me and appreciated. For these conversations alone I'd pay for her time. And the cherry on top of it all was her post-haircut text asking how things were going. I don't recall anyone ever checking in once things (beauty related services) were done and paid for - I found that so considerate and caring. As for the haircut (recall I have thin hair) I've forever had the same cut + style and no one knew the difference. Whatever sorcery Darcy had done up there has invited me into the world of "I love your hair" - and me too, I've never loved my hair so much. 10 outta 10!
