I recently had a haircut here and absolutely loved the experience! My hair looks identical to the inspo photos I showed. Steve has been doing hair for over 40 years and is extremely professional, friendly, and talented. Prices are also very reasonable! I could not recommend this place enough!

I don’t like leaving bad reviews but considering this place has such high ratings, I want to share my experience. I got my hair done here for the first time in 2022, as I was unable to travel home to go to my usual salon. My first red flag was the salon I made my appointment at is not the one shown in the pictures in the internet, as they had a very large downsize. I just wanted a partial highlight but left with fried yellow zebra stripes on my head. The bleach was applied directly to my hair with parchment paper as strips. After it set it was washed out and dried immediately, with no toner or products. My hair was crispy, patchy, fried, and yellow. I left the salon and immediately started sobbing because my hair looked so bad. When I was leaving the salon, the owner said to me “you scratch my back, I scratch yours. leave me a good review and you’ll get a discount next time”. I take it this is where his high rating on here comes from. I called another salon and they were able to fit me in the next day. My hair was so bad I don’t have a single picture of it. I called Capelli salon and requested a refund, and after screaming at a 19 year old girl on the phone, he finally agreed. After talking to girls in my sorority, I found out three other girls had very similar experiences with this salon.

For years I have tried numerous places in many states for a nice haircut. I actually went with a picture . Never got it right. Then I was recommended to go to this hair salon and ask for James. I have been there many times. James now is my only hairdresser that did a phenomenal job. My husband is very picky and he loves my hair after James became my hairdresser

I recently had an appointment with James to color my hair. This was my first visit to this salon and I left so happy. My color looks better than ever. I'd highly recommend James if you're looking for a great cut and color.

Nice hair cut. Great customer service from Jill. However, when it came time to pay, I was charged $50 instead of $30. The advertised price for men’s haircuts were $30 flat. They told me that the price online was 30 and up and the price depends on the stylist. This is false and I didn’t choose my stylist.

I've been going to James for a haircut for 3 or 4 years now. He's always kind, talkative, and does a great job with the cut. The shop is super laid back, gives me the old barber shop vibes my father and I use to go to.

Capelli's is the only salon I trust. No matter who waits on me, I feel pampered. Everyone is friendly and professional. They do a great job with my hair, helping me decide what will work best for me. Bonnie cut my hair today and did a great job giving me some new layers and a trim. I always know my hair will look great when I leave Capelli's.

I started going to Capelli after moving to Columbia and Bonnie has crushed it every single time! Most recently, I got a balayage (2 tones), and layers, and it looks amazing. It never fails, as soon as I leave the salon, I am always bombarded with compliments on my hair, and rightfully so. Bonnie is an ARTIST!

Steve was the best haircut I’ve ever gotten! From the quality of the cut to the conversation, I could not have had a better experience. I needed a trim and clean up on my rather long hair and I was given the exact photo that I showed him for reference. Great experience!

Waw!!! Amazing Bonnie did good job !! She know what she doing and she gave me the look I want. I never let anybody touch my hair because I have below waist hair length like very long . But definitely recommended!!❤😊

AWESOME! I took a picture and it's the first time the my cut has looked exactly like the pic. I was afraid to wash and style myself BUT IT STILL LOOKED GREAT!!!!! Sooo happy! And! AND he was super fast, but that may have been my cut. Will definitely go back 😳😀

I’ve been seeing Steve Brinchi (owner) for twenty years now and have followed him through a few different locations. Steve never fails to know how to combine what I want and what he knows I’m willing (or not willing) to do in the morning! Plus he’s always on time, the salon is always clean (long before Covid), and he’s an all-around nice guy! And every one of his employees over the years has had the same level of awesomeness. He even did my (now) 16yo daughter’s first haircut as a baby, and his salon is the only one I’ve brought her to (we’re here now for her haircut!). We love Steve/Capelli! 🤗❤️💇🏻‍♀️👍🏻

Really like the appearance of the salon. Bonnie Tipton does my hair and the color is always perfect! Cuts and moisture treatments keep it healthy and looking awesome! A favorite uncle always said a woman’s hair is her crowning glory. Bonnie makes sure you feel that way when you walk out! Make sure when you call you ask for Bonnie!!!

This salon is one of the best salons I have been in Columbia. I have changed around 4-5 salons because of the quality. My hair stylist Steve, is so far the best hair stylist I have met. He is really polite and professional and understands your needs. His positive attitude and nature keeps me coming to this salon. It’s really close to USC campus and downtown. Highly recommended place!
