JuJu always takes care of me. Not sure if that's her name but I'm always Fresh to death!!! Girls won't stop leaving me alone after I get a cut 😅lollll And love this location!!! Safe and nice and there's a park and plenty of food options before or after the cut !

Genuinely the worst cut I’ve ever gotten even worse than when I would get haircuts as a kid from my dad. Showed her a picture of a number 3-4 fade and she preceded to give me a number 0 skin fade, but you can’t even call it a fade cause she didn’t even blend it. I walked out the barbershop expect to be cleaned up but instead she turned me half bald and instead of cleaning up the top of my hair she cut half it off. Don’t know how these reviews are so high she cant even look at a picture and get something even resembling it even when it is the most basic cut.

I went here after reading raging reviews but was utterly disappointed. She is nice and talks really nicely so I did appreciate that. But my haircut + blow dry experience was bad. The shampooing was extremely harsh in terms of both the shampoo used and extreme pressure applied on scalp using nails. Despite mentioning about the nails, she didn’t understand. Haircut was fine. She does it quickly and looked precise. The lowest point was the blow out. When she started drying, I specifically asked her that I want curly ends to the layers. She nodded and proceeded with a straight hair blowout! After she was done, I was in shock and just wanted to leave. But she also asked my partner about the look and he exclaimed that I had asked for curls at the ends. She said it would not have looked nice for my thick hair and my hair had grease!! I don’t understand how she could make that decision for me! My natural hair is wavy and has natural curls. Also, she had shampooed my hair(very harshly as I mentioned) to remove the oiliness. Lastly, I also went here because it’s supposedly affordable but $65 seemed like a rip-off for the quality of products and service I received. Needless to say, not going back here or recommending this place

I have straight, thick, asian hair that usually poses a challenge to barbers. I came to Juju and showed her a picture of a low taper fade and she gave me exactly what I wanted. Haircut took about 15 minutes. She was very accomodating and sweet! Will 100% be back and I highly recommend her, especially if you have thick and straight hair like I do!

An amazing haircut at a price more affordable than other salons in Centre City, done by a woman with a heart of gold. I’ve heard many great things about Juju and am so glad to have crossed paths with her. Quick yet methodical, Juju engages in small banter with you while still focusing on your haircut and ensuring you look presentable. Her blades will never leave your hair even as she’s catching up with you. I have hair on the thicker, wavier side and Juju knows exactly what to do with it. We also bonded over our Southeast Asian roots which made for a lovely afternoon with her. Because she prices her cuts a little on the lower end, please tip her accordingly! An honest business like hers should continue to stay in business. Call in advance to check her availability or get a quote. Honestly, Juju gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve had in Philly and I will definitely be back to see her again.

Small place, the owner is a lovely woman who always remembers me, even though I've only been a few times. My men's cut is fairly simple, but she does a great cut every time. With over 30 years of experience, she knows how to manage different types of hair. Mine's coarse and wavy, with little alopecia spots to cover... but she knows just how to do it . Good prices, and usually almost no wait time. Just go there!

I moved out of town, but just today my wife asked, "Who was that lady you used to see in the city?" Many years later and just thinking of JuJu has brightened my entire day. I can't quite describe what it is about her, but she's got a soul that enriches your own in the (only few needed) minutes you spend in her chair. Great cuts, but even greater human. Still making me smile after all these years. Bless you JuJu! I'm gonna bring the kids by sometime soon to meet you!

It’s been a decade, and I have yet to find a barber as friendly, welcoming and professional as Juju. (I even added her to our Christmas card list!) To say that she goes above and beyond would be an understatement. In one instance when I was in town briefly, she was literally set to attend an event with Joe Biden and offered to cancel, just to cut my hair. I declined (and will never understand that) but hope that others can see how much work and love she has put into building this business. I can wholeheartedly say that there is no one else in Center City Philadelphia that deserves your business more than Juju. Be patient; you won’t be sorry.

Although Juju was all that everyone reviewed my only issues are: • price increase noted i($40.00) in review posted 7 months ago however in the newest post from 3 months ago a client is gushing over the price ($20.00) which leads to me to wonder how and who are being up-charged to the new non universal "fee"...I was a brand new client (as was the ($20 post) and had a DRY hair cut - no wash - shampoo or conditioner and I left with my hair wet and no product used at all. It feels as though the sliding scale appears to be based on how a person "looks" rather than one fee for all. I made & own the mistake of not inquiring service fees PRIOR to sitting in the chair however I based this on the most recently posted review...sadly I didn't scroll down to read further. In the end it troubles me that people think they can look at a person to know what they can afford rather than keeping one price to all customers . Appearances in most cases are always deceiving! Note to self do not wear items that give the impression I am made of money! In this economy only the rich got richer....buyer beware, ASK FIRST for pricing to ensure you are being treated equitably!!! Juju was very nice but it's a most unpleasant walk away, feeling I was deceived or duped...!
