We rented the backroom for my wedding, and our experience was exceptional. The staff were fun and generous, we played music and danced. It was comfortable for all of us to hang out. Our makeup was flawless and they really made the day special for me!

I got married earlier this month and used the Corner Room at the Carlyle salon with Ja'Nice and Yannely as the stylists and had the best experience getting ready. The room itself is not only beautiful with great lighting (perfect for pictures), but also very spacious and comfortable. We had 7 people and everyone had a tons of space to sit, spread out, relax, and get ready. The salon provided tea, coffee, juice, champagne, and breakfast and the salon staff consistently checked on us to clean up and provide refills. They also had an audio system that was easy to connect to via bluetooth for setting the perfect ambiance. Ja'Nice and Yannely worked quickly and efficiently, often ahead of schedule while also creating beautiful looks for everyone. This is much better than getting a hotel and hiring hair/makeup artists to come on site. Highly recommend if you're getting married in Santa Barbara!

I have been searching for a new stylist for months and am so happy I found Carlyle Salon and Carrie! Carrie is so kind and understands what I want to do to my hair even when I can’t explain it. The salon is clean and everyone is very welcoming! I would highly recommend this salon and Carrie! PLUS the services are half the price (than Montecito salons) and BETTER WORK.

I had them do my hair for the wedding, and it turned out more beautiful than I could’ve imagined. Lisa was my stylist. I did a trial in their back room, which is super cute and newly done. I had my wedding at a venue, and they came to do our hair there on site. Lisa did such an amazing job on my hair, and she even helped me change my hair for the reception. Her assistant helped all my bridesmaids with touchups. The assistant was so willing to help with any style they wanted, as well as just curling or helping put flowers in their hair. I wouldn’t have had anyone else do our hair for our special day. I highly highly recommend!!!

Extremely bad management. Does not prioritize brides on their wedding day. I paid over $3k for hair and makeup for my bridal party and myself. I was on the last of the list and given less time than was understood based on the trial, upon flagging this I was told it didn’t matter and I was late to my ceremony and had to finish my makeup myself and my bangs were looking horrible. I had 5 minutes to put my dress on and run out the door. They also threw out my dress bag when they said they would keep it there overnight. Upon privately messaging them and telling them how I was disappointed and requested a refund of my deposit I was given a long list of excuses and the opportunity for $50 of refunds. An absolute joke. I paid over $300 for the trial alone and nearly $4k for everything. Extremely unprofessional and greedy. I also requested all my bridal party had the same look and one of the makeup artists did not follow that instruction and some of my girls did not look consistent. Extremely incompetent and ridiculous experience.

The Corner Room at Carlyle Salon was the perfect spot for my bridal party and me to get ready before my wedding! Carlyle has fantastic hair & makeup teams, but I was able to bring in my own hair & makeup gals, which worked perfectly. The reservation process was easy, communication was thorough, and the day-of experience was a dream! The Carlyle team had the room ready for us when we arrived and it was gorgeous! They placed fresh flower arrangements inside and provided us with water, champagne, and beautiful drink ware. We were also able to bring in some of our own snacks & refreshments. The space has perfect natural light for photos and ample seating in addition to the vanity stations with salon chairs. The room is also equipped with a sound system and you can connect with your phone to play your own music. It was comfortable but felt special at the same time. If you are looking for a great place to get ready for a wedding or other special event, look no further. The Corner Room was an absolute dream!

I recently visited Reilly for a cut. I absolutely love the cut. Reilly did what I believe is called a 'French cut' where the back of the hair is cut while the client is standing. I love the cut, and the experience of being there was great as well. I would highly recommend the salon based on the cut I received. It is priced on the higher-end for a cut, but well worth it. I plan to continue there for any future services.

I was in SB for a wedding and wanted a partial updo. I had an appt with Chandler and she made so happy! In 45 minutes, she transformed my slightly frizzy hair (bad hair day from the cool SB ocean air) into exactly what I wanted for the day. The vibe of the shop is lovely and Chandler was a doll. I highly recommend this place. Wish I lived closer!

Do yourself a favor and go to a different salon. This salon has caused me more headaches and strife. I asked for a simple service and they ended up botching the job completely. In the end the owner tried to make it right but ended up only refunding a portion of what I paid. I have been to salons all over the world and I have to say this is one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had.

I’m in town for a bit and was in desperate need of a haircut. I managed to schedule with Dean and am glad I did! I walked out with a cut I really like, which is rare on a first visit to a new stylist. The salon atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, and they were taking all appropriate COVID safety measures so I did not have any concerns on that front either. If a visit to Santa Barbara matches timing for a haircut again, I will definitely be back to Carlyle’s and have Dean cut my hair again.

Thank you so much for a wonderful experience! Rachel was very responsive and so easy to work with when coordinating my on location wedding services. For my wedding on 7/22, Corinne (hair) and Shanie (makeup) showed up on time and ready to support on location. Both stylists had the best energy and were engaging, while simultaneously providing a calm environment to get ready for the big day. Both stylists had reached out to me the day before my wedding to ask some questions and receive some inspirational images of what I imagined. I was unable to schedule a trial but realized very quickly that I was in the hands of professionals - Corinne and Shanie made me feel so comfortable on the day of my wedding! The stylists kept to our schedule without making anything feel rushed and made sure all four of us were finished on time. We were all very impressed with Shanie and Corinne's attention to what we all envisioned! Makeup: I really appreciated that Shanie took the time to explain each step of the process while applying makeup. I wanted a natural look because I don't wear much makeup, and my skin is super sensitive. Shanie definitely kept me natural looking, and I was so happy with the colors and products she chose. I haven't worn face makeup (like foundation) in years; however, the makeup not only lasted on my face all day, but the products left my skin looking dewy once removed in the evening. The next day, my skin was still super clear and didn't break out like it normally does after face makeup is applied - magic! I also want to note that I said I didn't want crazy lashes. Shanie brought individual lashes that worked out perfectly, creating a more enhanced look without going overboard with full sets. Hair: Corinne was so flexible, and I'm grateful! The day before the wedding, I told her I wanted waves and sent some pictures. The morning she arrived, I changed my mind and decided on curls. This was especially solidified after seeing Corinne curl my mom's hair beautifully. My hair is curly naturally, but I loved the more defined and elegant curls that Corinne gave me for the wedding. She also used products that kept my hair in place until evening, without getting greasy or frizzy. Thank you again!! Would highly recommend!
