Excellent men's haircut; however, the chemical smell is overpowering and is a concern especially if the fumes could be carcinogenic. Please add ventilation and air purifiers.

I BEG DON'T GO HERE! I've never written a review in my life and never CRIED on my way home after a haircut. I asked for a sort of bob cut with layers and did get anything like I wanted. Ive never felt so insecure because of a haircut. My hair is now two completely different sections, extremely choppy, and thin now even though I've always had thick hair. THEY SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED

THIS place is amazing. I have been going to Denise who is the owner for many years and everytime I get my haircut and blowout it is perfect 👍. All her staff is amazing and when I go here I feel like family. This place is reasonably priced and always convenient and great hours. I visited this place in September just before my sisters birthday. The hair stylists Lisa was knowledgeable and quite helpful. I had long hair and I asked her to cut it short but I should be able to tie my hair. She did exactly what I asked for and I am in love with my hair now.

I don’t typically give reviews, but unfortunately I have to give 1 star. I was not satisfied (on the verge of tears) and was refused when I asked to get it fixed. I liked this place but I will not be returning. There are great places nearby. Save your money and go somewhere that knows what they are doing and what you ask. Hope this helps Update: Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, I was not offered a gift card and was refused to get it fixed unless I paid for additional services. I did find somewhere else to go, as I needed it to be fixed as soon as possible, and he went above and beyond to give me what I asked for. As I stated in the review, I did like this place, but after the service and the way I was treated following my most recent visit, I can not be returning to this location.

I have used Carteret Family Hair Care for many years. All the hairdressers are friendly and knowledgeable. I always come out with a great haircut and style. Recently, my mom has started getting her hair done there as well. They are always respectful of her. It's a GREAT place!

My Mom & I have been going to Family Hair Care for years. I am a customer of, Kelli's and my Mom goes to Mary, however Denise and her entire staff treats us both like "Family". Denise and the girls are extremely professional and very caring especially when they all assist with my Mom. I am so thankful and extremely grateful for their kindness. I look forward to my Saturday mornings seeing all the girls when I bring my Mom in for her appointments. Love ya All!!!! Janice B.

Normally the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, unfortunately can't say the same for today's visit. Whole thing kind of felt rushed and strictly business oriented. Nevermind the fact that I am a return customer. Totally understand with the current pandemic that procedures change, but very disappointed with overall experience. Especially because it was my daughter's 12th birthday and when making the reservation I specifically asked for someone that was child friendly and compassionate. Just wanted my daughter who's been cooped up in the house to have a memorable 3rd haircut for her birthday party. The hair cut itself was great my daughter ❤ it. Though just didn't feel welcoming, let's just leave it at that...

This place is worth a zero rating. My sister went there to get her hair cut and the hairstylist messed up her hair badly to the point where she has to wear a hair wig for the next few weeks. My recommendation to the people that’s reading this and is considering getting their hair done at this place, please do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to get your hair done!
