I’ve had the same hairstyle for at least 12 or 13 years, and I gave Taylor creative control for this cut. This is probably the best cut I’ve ever had experienced! I got a step by step on how to wash and manage the style. Highly recommend this place as the staff are amazing and very talented.❤️

Moira is an excellent stylist. She gave me a great haircut and beautiful color, and was so patient, kind, and positive in response to my indecisiveness about my bangs. I was all over the map lol, and she was so gracious. Every one there was nice and attentive. Good vibes. Happy I've found this salon and Moira.

The staff is so sweet and Moira is such a great stylist. She cut my boyfriend’s long hair that he’s been so nervous about cutting and did such a great job of listening to both him and I and making sure he was comfortable. Plus they gave us cute tea bags as a holiday gift :) 10/10 would recommend to everyone!!

This is one of the gems in Portland amazing stylists and amazing people that work here not only is their coloring amazing with Jules but Moira saved me from a accident with scissors and kid and really made me feel confident effortlessly. They all take care of you so well, you feel safe. You can have coffee or tea. They just have a beautiful environment with all these plants and they’re just really warm good natured people, which is wonderful. Love you Cathedral park salon.

Moira cut my hair, and she did me RIGHT. I have school photos tomorrow and they'll probably be the best ones yet. The only downside was it took an hour and 15 minutes, but I guess that's to be expected at a salon. She also washed and conditioned my hair and feels the softest it's been in a while. While this salon's main clientele is women with curly hair, they are just as experienced cutting men with straight hair. Thank you Moira for an amazing experience!! (btw, they also offer local tea!)

Can't say enough about this place. You don't just get a cut - you get DIRECTION. Taylor took time to get to know me and what I was trying to do with my hair. One of, if not the most professional yet comfortable cuts I've had. The end result was amazing. I mean, it was good enough that I'm actually writing a review lol. For reference I have thick, semi-curly hair that was nearly shoulder length.

Thank you Taylor for the most amazing hair! I was feeling insecure about my damaged hair before coming in, but you gave me a cut I absolutely love and brought life and style back into my hair! The stylists here are also so friendly and helped make an enjoyable first time visit. I will definitely be back! My new local go to salon!!

This is probably my favorite hair salon in general over my 46 years of life. It is intimate, warm, and my sanctuary. My stylist, Jules, is my soulmate, seriously. She completely understands my hair, can transform a fine textured, raven-haired lady who's kinda in a rut into an ethereal but firey redhead with not only such ease, but with such gentle consideration for the health of my hair. Her vast brain trust of knowledge and experience make her simply the best. My hair at present is literally giving me life, it's like I'm glowing out from the inside because of it. Jules has also done major cuts for me, fashion colors, event styling, and extensions. She is a consummate professional with the warmest personality ever. She has quickly become one my favorite humans. She gives the best head massage I have ever had. She's also cool as hell. Taylor, the owner, is also just the sweetest and really evokes a welcoming and fun environment. It's a joy going to the salon in general and Jules in particular. If you want your hair to reflect the rock star, goddess, gorgeous woman you are on the inside, go to Jules. She is, like Tina Turner said, simply the best

Took my daughter there today late and last minute. The service was very nice and relaxing. My daughter loved her haircut. I would have paid just for the glow and smile my daughter had for the rest of the day she loved her haircut. TY Amazing Hairstist lady.

I came to Cathedral Park salon to get something new because I was simply bored of my pink hair. Jules really made me feel like a whole new person. The transformation that she did on my hair is incredible. If you are looking for somebody to color your hair, I definitely recommend going to Jules. She will listen and educate you through the process to get you closer to your dream hair. The salon is clean, Friendly, and very welcoming.

I got my hair colored like rainbow candy by Jules and I am obsessed with it! The salon itself is super adorable and cozy as well. She did such an amazing job and works with such care, I would absolutely recommend going to Jules for color!

I recently visited the Cathedral Park Salon and visited with Jules. Jules has been doing my hair on and off for 12+ years. I was so beyond excited to go to this breathtakingly beautiful salon. The warm and welcoming atmosphere when you walk through the door is just an awesome feeling. Jules is the most knowledgeable hairdresser, she 1000% knows her stuff and is happy to teach along the way. Jules is the only person that I trust with my hair, and I never have to worry when I am in her chair. Jules gave me tips and tricks to help with my hair concerns and the best way to style my new hair style. I appreciate Jules and the extremely knowledgeable team at Cathedral Park Salon. Ren was amazing. My hair had grown out to be this awkward step mullet and my curls lost their definition. I gave Ren vague idea of what I wanted, more so of what I didnt like about my hair. The texture that she added revitalized my curls and I am back to feeling confident in my hair during this grow out process. I will definitely be returning. The customer service offering tea, water or coffee was above and beyond. I am usually anxious when it comes getting my hair done. I was made so comfortable, that my anxiety melted away.

I had such high hopes. I have very curly hair and was in desperate need of a good haircut and color job. I knew what I wanted and told him as such. He cut off all my hair that has taken me years to grow. I specifically told him to keep my length. There was someone interviewing and he didn't ask if I was okay with her working on my hair. She got hair color all over my face and neither cleaned it off and my face was stained for the rest of the day. She also washed my hair but got my back all wet and didn't give me the head massage that comes with a wash. I didn't drive an hour each way, spend two hundred dollars, my husband took the day off work to be with the kids, wait two months for an appointment to have some kid who admitted during the appointment she didn't even know what a fade was to do my hair and still be charged the full amount. I really don't like my hair cut, the shape is a mess and I still can't believe he cut all my hair off. The color looks pretty good but it looks like a box job. Not impressed

Jules is a real gem and I feel so lucky she's in St. Johns! Years of teaching and styling experience, a true professional, also so kind and fun to talk to. I always feel good when I leave this salon. Highly recommend!

Update: 10/26/ 2023 Went in for a second cut with Taylor. I discussed getting a Rezo cut which is a very intricate cut involving lifting and cutting on angles and carefully blending each layer. It would definitely take a lot of time to partition each section. I specifically told him I wanted my hair long enough to tie back into a ponytail so not shorter than that. He chit chatted for about 20-30 minutes and then proceeded to cut my hair dry and was done in under 10 minutes. I hated the way it turned out and went back a couple weeks later and now it's even worse. It will take a solid year to grow out the chopped off hair on top. I'm so disappointed! 4/2023 I finally got the curly hair cut and style that I've been wanting! The salon is casual and comfortable! So glad I found them!

Exceptional service! Taylor got to know me personally and took time to make a plan for my haircut that would meet my goals. I took a risk with a cool new haircut and it totally paid off! What do I even say about Taylor? It's hard not to feel like I've hit the jackpot. Beyond Taylor's curly hair expertise, he is kind and lovely and a pleasure to spend time with. Taylor's been cutting my hair for about 5 years - even after I moved away for sometime, I would be sure to schedule an appointment with him while visiting. Now back in Portland, I am so excited for more regular cuts. My hair is fine, curly in some parts, wavy in others and has been a challenge for previous salons. And then, Cathedral Park Salon opened in my neighborhood and I've never looked back. I just cannot recommend Taylor enough.

I received a hair cut and color from Taylor, and he did a fantastic job. He was very friendly and gave me the best head massage of my life when he was washing my hair. The highlights he gave me look gorgeous, and he even taught me how to style my curly hair. I will be coming back. Worth every penny.

Taylor's passion for making his clients look their absolute best and his attention to detail, in my opinion make him the only stylist in the entire Portland metro area anyone should let touch their hair. In the 8 years he has never given me a cut that was not great.

This was one of the coolest, coziest salons I've ever been to. Such a comfortable vibe. Taylor did an amazing job giving my daughter, who has curly hair, bangs. He sat and talked with her to make sure he thoroughly knew what she wanted and gave her so many tips. We were also entertained by his adorable little doggies!
