I really like this place. They are very friendly , always can get in without an appointment and they do an excellent job with how I want my hair cut.

This place is THE WORST! I went in to get a blowout before a big wedding on Saturday and was told over the phone the cost would be $23. I should have known this place was sketch when I called over the phone to make an appt. and was originally told they couldn't fit me in till 12;30 then when I said I would just find another place was quickly told 10:30 would be no problem. When I came in the place looked like it hadn't been updated for 20 years and seemed slightly filthy. I am not too picky though since I just wanted a cheap place to get a nice do since I didn't pack a straight iron or curler. Hiroko the owner, initially seemed very nice, but then started making comments about my hair and how dry and bad it was and said it needed a trim. I am trying to grow my hair out but said sure why not just a half inch wouldn't hurt. She immediately begins chopping off my hair and I can tell already my bangs are waaay too short. Then when she is done (only about 5-10 min later, she was rushing it) she starts the blow dry and begins using a round brush to give a very old fashioned look to my hair. I still think she will use a straightener to make waves so I am not too bothered yet then she says she is finished and brings me up to pay. The next customer is already there and waiting at 10:55 so I don't want to cause a scene a demand she give me a better style so I ask for the bill and she says $40!! I have her repeat that and she states it again, because I got a "haircut", the price somehow doubles. I have gotten plenty of great haircuts for under $40, and I wouldn't have minded paying if she actually spent time on me giving me a proper cut and style but I pay anyway and immediately cry when I get in my car. I can already see uneven and choppy it is and way too blunt on the ends for my taste. When I get back to my friend's she lets me use her curling wand and straightener to try and fix it before the wedding but it is unsalvageable at this point. I call up to tell her that I just came in and am very unsatisfied and would like some refund since I only wanted a $23 blowout in the first place and she didn't spend enough time giving a cut to make it look presentable or justify the cost. She is angry but says I can get $10 back. When I return she refuses at first, then goes crazy on me in front of her customers and says I look homeless. The other hairstylist tells her to just give me the money and then she throws the $10 on the floor at me. I have never seen anything like this. I almost had to laugh at this point cause it is so ridiculous. I can't believe this place stays in business. If you are visiting or considering stepping foot in here..DON'T!
