In 2016 I asked a stranger at a bar how his hair looked so good, got the answer, and started going to Chop Tops. Nowadays I’m the handsome stranger getting stopped at bars! Big thanks to Stacy who’s done my last 100 haircuts.

I got 4 haircuts at this place since I moved to KC about a year ago. What I can say is the results are very uneven (pun intended, as per below) depending on who you get. My first time I believe was with Ashley, it was OK. The next two was with Felecia, who is actually really good. But when I was making this last appointment she didn't have any availability for over a month, so I selected "Any stylist" and got assigned to Stacy. I showed her a photo of a previous haircut as I always do with a new person, and simply asked her to do the same. I should note that I'm very particular about my hair style. Although it's nothing too eclectic, it needs to be a shear cut and I've learned the hard way regular barbershops can never get it right so I don't mind paying extra. Anyway, Stacy assured me that she could do what I showed her although towards the end it became clear that she couldn't. The entire time she was cutting, she wouldn't stop complaining about how long I let it grow (hello, that's why I need a haircut), and she also cut herself with the scissors. I'm 34 years old and never in my entire life have I witnessed a hairdresser cut themselves on the job. Anyway, with some additional guidance I thought we ended up with something at least serviceable. But while I didn't realize at first when I first left there, I noticed a few days later that towards the top, she actually left one side about a whole inch longer than the other, which I now have to go get corrected somewhere else. Not planning to go back.

Chop tops is great, I’ve gotten my hair cut here for 11 years between Westport and the brookside location and never had a bad cut

Traveling through for business and found them online with great reviews. Their previous clients did not lie! They fit me in their schedule on short notice and provided me with an A+ cut with a A+ customer service experience that started with a complementary beverage when I first walked in the door. Highly recommend!

What an amazing barbershop! Cindy and Jim, the owners, were super friendly and accommodating. Walked in with no appointment and they got me in ASAP! I was visiting from out of town and they took the time to find out about me and make me feel like I’ve been coming there for years. Micah, my barber did an outstanding job. She took the time to make sure we were on the same page for the haircut I wanted. She talked to me about local places and was very personable! Truly amazing place to get a haircut. Would highly recommend Chop Tops for your barber needs!!

Definitely one of the worst hair cuts I’ve ever got. The barber cut too much on my left side, there is a hole in my left side near the top of my head. I had to trim it back myself.

Recently moved to Westport and have been looking for a cool place to get my haircut at. Stacey was my stylist and she knew exactly what I wanted and made sure she gave me the haircut I wanted. It's a unique and interesting place with friendly staff members and a good selection of hair products to take home.

I've always struggled with finding a good haircut. Felicia at Chop Tops has been my go to for a few years now and I've yet to be disappointed. Every haircut I've gotten from her has been consistently better than any I've received in the past. I've seen other stylists there in the past who were also very good, from my experiences they appear to be very particular with who they hire. For years from old school barber shops to strip mall chains I was told that nothing could be done with a cowlick on the crown of my head other than keeping my hair longer than my preference and it consistently would stick up. That turned out not to be the case, a quality haircut and some direction from a skilled professional on how to comb/brush it and I can keep it short now, and with a seamless fade. I would (and have) highly recommend Chop Tops, and Felicia in particular to anyone I know. I don't even have to bring it up, for the first time ever I've received multiple compliments and people asking me where I get it cut.

Amazing 10/10 I love this place so much I would definitely go back again, and if you're looking for a great cut ask for Stacy no hair stylist is better than her. Every time I get my hair cut by her I walk a little bit taller just knowing I look good. 😊

I’ve visited Chop Tops twice now and Felecia did a great job both times! She is very attentive to what kind of cut you’re looking for but also provides some professional guidance when needed. She is also super fun to talk to so the time flies by. Now I need to book again!
