I have been getting my curls cut, colored, and styled by Onawa for a little over a year now, and it's by far the best hair experience I've ever had! I love being in the salon, my curls are healthy and layered/colored beautifully, and Onawa takes the time to teach me how to use products and take care of my hair at home. Would definitely recommend!

Went here for the first time with an appointment with Jessica. I got a half shave, cut, and bleach + dye, and I'm very happy with the result! Jessica was super helpful in explaining different color options and styles. I felt that she understood what I wanted, and the result was perfect. It was a very positive experience! :) Logistics-wise, booking was straightforward, the interior of the building was clean, and there's plenty of street parking in the area.

Been going here for years and Jess is amazing! As someone who struggles with dermatitis on my scalp she is always kind and I always leave feeling confident! Jess and Morgan are both very talented! Highly recommend 😊

Fast service on short notice with extremely welcoming and friendly staff. The interior is also a small cozy space. Will definitely be going here again when a haircuts needed again.

I had Carrie as a stylist and she was awesome! This was my first time at a curly hair specialist and was really nervous about getting my hair cut, but she did great and I learned a lot more than I was expecting while talking with her. I've got another appointment scheduled already and can't wait to go back!

I initially had a positive experience with Onawa of PhatBottomedCurls, but it went sharply downhill. Please do NOT get your hair colored by her. At most, get a cut and call it a day. I spent over $500 for HALF my hair to be haphazardly bleached and just *barely* colored -- I asked for vibrant color and it looked muddled and grey from the very first day. Every time I look in the mirror, I feel robbed, and so disappointed. This was a fortune for me, and I wish I had received results worth even half the amount I paid. She would not fix it without charging us even MORE money, and tried to insinuate that the dull colors were my fault, because of a small miscommunication that had NOTHING to do with the *vibrancy* of the color that was there. I was always clear on wanting vibrant color and I did NOT get it. I've had significantly better results letting a friend dye my hair for free! There is just no excuse for the quality of service I received. She is very unprofessional and publicly complained about me on TikTok when I'd done nothing wrong, talking about how I'd brought an "entourage" with me and how she doesn't usually like that, but that it worked out okay because my friends were helpful during the power outage at the salon, but to not make a habit of this...? So complaining, with a negative tone, yet glad they were there...? What was the point? I felt beyond humiliated. I have severe social anxiety from a traumatic upbringing, and needed to be accompanied by my partner. We had a friend with us, who needed to be there to drive us home due to the severe weather, and additional emotional support as this was very difficult for me. I don't think we did anything that warranted us being publicly mocked. I was crying for days after all of this. I was told the salon was a safe space for neurodivergent people, but I don't feel that it was. We spent way, WAY too much to not only receive poor service, but public humiliation, and I wish there was a way to get my money back. It feels like one of the biggest mistakes of my life, and I keep beating myself up over all the money I wasted.

I unfortunately had to switch hairdressers, so I went to Louise Frost since it said she was very experienced with curly hair….. I asked for a cut right above my shoulders, and she cut it to my chin!!! I will now have to spend extra to get extensions so I do not look ridiculous on my interview. Three stars because she was nice, but it was not worth the almost $200.

10/10 . I always have a great experience with Justin. Justin is very talented and very nice. I always get so many compliments after seeing him. Scheduling is easy and the salon is clean. My hair feels amazing and I feel amazing.

Beautiful space with great haircuts. No parking lot but you can always find a spot. I've been seeing Nichole for years! Never a bad haircut and everyone is nice and says hello.
