Damaged my hair, too expensive, and mean girl behavior. They heat damaged my hair. The cost is way too high for the services. They just don't have the best energy. I walked in and no one gave me a proper "hey how are you? what do you want today?" Just weird energy and not good customer services esp for the cost. Wouldn't go back

I truly expected more from a salon oft his caliber. I visited the salon about a month ago for a cut, color (first time ever doing so) & highlights by Leena, which costed about $700 in total. For 1, she was 45 minutes late to my consultation appointment. I understand that delays can happen, but I couldn’t help but feel frustrated, as I’m sure if I had been 45 minutes late, I would not have been accommodated and likely charged a fee. During the consultation, I sensed that the stylist wasn’t fully understanding my vision, but I chalked it up to first-dye appointment nerves and decided to trust her expertise. I also shared that this was my very first time having my hair professionally colored and highlighted, so I was relying on her guidance to ensure the best outcome. On the day of the appointment, I was hoping for a more communicative approach to the process, especially since this was new to me. However, I noticed the focus seemed to be more on the stylist’s preferences than on what I had requested. While at the wash bowl, I overheard the stylist and another team member complaining about the workload, even making remarks about turning down certain client requests. As someone paying a premium rate for professional services, this felt dismissive and unprofessional. When my highlights were revealed, they were not the color I requested. I immediately pointed this out to the stylist, but instead of addressing my concern with understanding, she laughed. This continued multiple times during the appointment, and it made me feel uncomfortable and dismissed. I showed her the reference photo again and reiterated my request. She continued to laugh, even after acknowledging that the highlights weren’t what I had asked for. Although she attempted to correct the color, the adjustments further washed-out parts of my hair, leaving the base color inconsistent. At this point, I felt defeated. Despite spending nearly $700, the final result didn’t reflect what I asked for, nor did the experience feel personalized or professional. I reached out to the salon a month ago with this review and heard nothing back. Deeply disappointed.

I had such a fun time with Kenya! She thoroughly explained the products she was using and my cut! What a cut and press! My bob is still flowing and I love it. Definitely willing to make the trip to see her again.

I have been going to Leena for almost a year for all of my hair maintenance needs (and styles when I want to add a lil razzle dazzle!) Leena always makes my visit feel like I'm catching up with an old friend! The salon atmosphere overall is that of a safe space to chat and relax while getting pampered! I’ve been coming here for years for a silk press, trim, and highlights. I typically see Leena who does amazing silk presses and color treatments. However, this week she was booked and I saw a new stylist to the salon named Kenya. She was amazing. My hair was so silky and soft and I truly loved it! It just shows that Julie, the owner, makes sure that all of her stylists are highly skilled and that you will be in good hands with whoever services you. Kenya thanks for getting me together for the new year!

I had a lovely experience at Citryne Rose on Thursday 11/14/2024 First of all, the shop is lovely, and all the staff were professional and nice Vogue was professional friendly and very skilled. She gave me the gentlest blow dry I ever had. And I love how my hair came out. I had a wash and go and trim. Very nice. Thank you very much Vogue. I will see you again soon.

I loved everything about my experience at Citryne Rose from the moment I walked in up until I left. The ambiance was very relaxing but also open and inviting. Being that it was my first real silk press experience in a hair salon Laura did really well with communicating and walking me through the entire process! Overall, I loved the energy and you could tell the stylists have created a beautiful and positive environment not just for them but for their clients. It’s definitely a place I will return to. Julie did a phenomenal job! This was the first time I colored my natural hair and I knew I was in good hands. Julie is extremely knowledgeable and prioritizes the health of your hair first. The final result exceeded my expectations and vision during our hair consultation. She understood what I was looking for while also suggesting a color that complimented my skin tone. Julie also explained maintenance and upkeep for future appointments so my look can last. I’ve gotten so many compliments already and I’m so happy I came to Julie for this new look. I highly recommend!

I called this salon in a panic when my original wedding hairdresser canceled, and I can honestly say it was the best decision I could have made. The owner, Julie, took my last-minute consultation, and from the start, she was calming, kind, and CONFIDENT (total perfectionist))—even though the style I wanted (human hair mini twists) was something she doesn’t typically offer. When I arrived for my appointment, the salon was buzzing with energy in the best way possible. Julie introduced me to Chanel, a specialist on her staff who focuses on protective styles, and together, they crafted the perfect approach for my mini twists. They executed the style flawlessly and even styled them exactly the way I had envisioned! This experience is, hands down, my best salon visit—whether you’re a natural hair girlie or any girl looking for an unforgettable experience. Julie and her team (special shout-out to Chanel!) are true disrupters in the hair game. I wish I could, give them 10 stars! ✨ Highly recommend! P.S. I have been coming to Citryne Rose for years now and I can without fail say that coming here and seeing Vogue, specifically, has changed the status of my hair. After years of perming and heat damage I decided to go natural and get consistent silk presses and trims here at Citryne Rose. My hair was getting thin and losing shine but after years of coming here I can honestly say that my hair is in the best shape it’s ever been in my adult life. I am always complimented by people in the streets and always sharing this salon with folks. If you are struggling with your hair and need a place that’s welcoming, punctual, and kind—this is the spot. I suffered for years of frustrated tears from stylists being late, rude, and inconsistent and now I can say confidently that I’ve found a place I can go to for years to come. I was disappointed with my experience at this salon due to the pricing, which felt unfair. When I booked the weave removal, I assumed it included a wash and blow dry—after all, paying $150 just for cutting thread and removing braids seemed excessive. At other salons, this service typically includes those additional treatments at the same price. On the day of my appointment, I received a call asking if I wanted to add any services. The caller mentioned that "typically people add an additional service," so I added a trim, still under the assumption that the wash and blow dry were included. However, midway through the process, the stylist received a call from her manager. I was then put on the phone with the manager, who clarified that the weave removal did not include a wash and blow dry, and that I would need to pay extra for that service. Reluctantly, I agreed to add the wash and blow dry because I couldn’t leave without it. While the stylist was wonderful and the ambiance was nice, I found the pricing structure frustrating. It ended up costing me more to remove the weave than to install it, which was surprising. To give additional context the total for the weave removal + wash & blow dry trim was $318. It cost me $220 to install my weave. As a first-time customer, this experience left a negative impression, and I really wanted to enjoy my time here.

I’ve been coming to this salon for a few years now to get my hair trimmed and always enjoy the service. My hair would not be the length it is now if I wasn’t coming here consistently. Everyone is super nice and I know they take pride in their work. Highly recommend :)

Our experience at the salon was truly five-star. We were promptly attended to as soon as we arrived for our appointment. Vogue, our stylist, was incredibly attentive, taking the time to understand exactly what style my daughter envisioned for her special occasion. My daughter was particularly impressed with the shampoo treatment, describing it as the best she's ever had, and she loved the delightful fragrance of the products used. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Vogue and this fantastic salon to others, and we're already eagerly anticipating our next visit.

Was super excited to try out this salon since summer 2023 - my normal salon was booked out a month in advance! I booked a service special with a student that was supposed to be under the watchful eye of the salon owner. I walked in and it seemed as though the owner was visibly upset and stated that the student was busy with another client so she would have to wash my hair. Which she did not, I got my hair washed, deep conditioned, conditioned and combed by 2 different people. Only after did I meet the student who said she would be finishing off my silk press. She was super nice, made me comfortable but then stated that she had never worked with someone with my kind of hair! Confused as I HAD thick 4A/4B hair. As she began to blow dry, I asked if she could use more heat protectant and she stated “they applied it at the wash bowl”. I didn’t say anything as I thought maybe it was in on of the products they put in my hair BUT I noticed so much smoke being released from the blow dryer alone! Then the owner came over and instructed her how to do a better blow out… when it came to the flat ironing process, both the owner and I were confused at how the student flat ironed my hair! She SQUEEZED the iron so tight that you could see the veins popping out of her arms! I knew when everything was completed that I had a major amount of heat damage that I had spent years trying to avoid! And I left with my hair smelling really weird My hair is visibly thinner, does not fluff out when I blow dry it like normal, and I am dreading doing my natural styles out of fear it might not turn out right anymore! I will not be going back!

I’ve been coming here for about 1 ½ years and the service is always excellent. My normal stylist is Leena who does a great job with my hair no matter which style I choose. Coming here has helped me keep my natural hair healthy. I consistently come for regular trims and my hair has flourished.

I absolutely love this salon. I started going here in 2021 and trust me when i say there's no need to go anywhere else . I normally get my hair done by leena but this time i booked with Kendra (due to my last minute planing for my birthday ) and i have no regrets . Not only did Kendra do a beautiful job & address the concerns i had about my hair but she also has a really good vibe to her . I will definitely be rebooking with both stylist in the future

I visited a couple of weeks back and didn't want to write this review until I accessed the workability of my hair at home(IYKYK).I am particular about my hair. I'm also a hair health girlie, so I wanted and needed a trim BAD. I also know the collective trust issues most of us have with salons/ stylists we see on social media . So I get it! However , I've never gotten a better trim in my life. Best investment I've made this year. Now my stylist was running a little bit behind schedule, but I waited maybe 15 min tops, and it was totally worth it. Vogue ( I'd wanna know the stylist too😉) did my hair, but honestly, I watched both the other ladies style other clients, and I think you'd be good with whomever ( in my humble opinion). Beautiful salon, professional treatment. Worth. IT.

Got an excellent silk press and trim by Kenndra. She walked me through the whole process and was very gentle with my hair. It's still looking fresh almost a week later on hair that likes to revert immediately. There was also the cutest dog ever at the salon. Definitely coming back!

Started off rocky, end up soft and full. Okay, so I made this appointment 3 days before a trip. I've been following citrine rose for a few years after a friend of mine got a top tier color, cut and overall experience. I booked with the owner, Julie, because if I'm going to do it best believe I'm going to do it w the best! Her hands are blessed, and one thing I will never do is downplay someone's gift. OK! Now, getting the appointment was one of the first pebbles I tripped on. When I tell you it took way too much time and inquisitions, and this was from the receptionist who was supposed to be the one helping me. Needless to say, mess! But I was determined and planned on landing en la Isla del Encanto (aka Puerto Rico) with a full mane and a fresh cut. So, I pushed through and made me booking! Also, the times available were weird, because apparently the stylist are only in if they know they have a client. Weird but ok. Finally, the day a baddie (me) was waiting for, my appointment with the grand dame of this natural hair game (iykyk), Julie! Admittedly I arrived about 10 minutes late. They saw me right away, but the receptionist booked me for a different service than what we agreed on (another pebblestone). I was taken to the sink for my wash however, miss grand dame did not wash my hair. It was an apprentice who was clearly new. Fine, even though I booked Julie (which was the most costly stylist; I believe around $250) as I know that can be a norm. The wash was nice, but was on the long side. So much so, Julie aka the grand dame, intervened to discuss how long each section of the wash and condition should take. Alas, we finished and moved to the blow dry chair where next to me sat another client who Julie was working on. Miss mamas was older and her mane was no doubt a product of her experience and consistency. It was gloriously, unlike, my persistent wait. We know how hair works, you can't let it dry out too long after washing it. Additionally, we were heading close to the amount of time they stated it would take and still no Julie whose time I paid for. So, you guessed it, the newbie blow dried my hair and my temper was getting as hot as that heat. By the time the blow dry was done, I was fuming. However, I was raised not to act like I got some sense, so I didn't show out but the feelings were written all over my face. After the shampoo, condition, AND blow dry, Julie finally comes over to attend me, and asks what was wrong. As I began to speak, the words and tears flew out as if they were one. I told her how frustrated I was but not receiving the service I paid for. I didn't even think to mentioned time, but I missed this candle making class I paid to attend with a friend because the service took so long. She began crying and was very transparent about how hard it's been to find good help which I could empathize with. As we were talking she had to tell a stylist to get off her phone to help a client and then returned back to me with eyes of disbelief. I will say, getting it out and hearing one another definitely healed me through it. I also reveled one of the reasons I booked with her was because of my alopecia and prior experiences with salons. She gave me an amazing cut and the most serene and pain free braid down I have ever experienced IN MY LIFE. For those reasons alone, I am giving 5 stars. I really left at peace, despite the start of the service. This appointment was made at the end of august, so I'm hoping the former has been improved. I haven't gone back, but my hair has been THRIVING since my visit and I will be making another appointment in a few weeks. I will update you all about my experience.
