I was afraid they would make me the color I wanted but thank God everything went as I expected, the hair color is what I asked for, everyone is very kind and friendly. 100% . Alma attended me, very patient with me, but I feel that they are all trained to do wonders in the hair

I am a native New Yorker who resided on the UWS before I moved to Venice, Italy a few years ago. I visited my hometown this summer and one of the things on my things to do was to get pampered by finally getting a haircut before my return. I learned my former quite gifted hairstylist, Liliana, who has done my hair for 25 plus years when in NY, was now working at Class salon; which is located in my former neighborhood. The appoitment was made for a haircut and style. Let me start by saying that my hair has been thinning and breaking and has lost it's natural luster, which was one of the things I would get compliments on, the shine my hair had. Well, I came in for the first time to this beautifully quaint salon, and everyone from the manager to the hairstyles greeted me with a genuine smile before even knowing whether or not I had an appoitment. I gave her my name, and said I had an appoitment with Liliana (who by the way then came down from the second level afterwards). I had asked if I could have some privacy because of the condition of my hair (being thinner and brittle). I was thinking maybe the chair at the end. But instead, they were accomodating and Liliana did my hair in the upper level. Of course, she did an amazing job! My hair had developed multi-personalities, between 3 cowlicks on the front, frizzy on one side, thin on the other while thick on another side, it's challenging to manage and know what are the best hair products that can tackle this hair topography, can be overwhelming. Liliana completly had transformed my hair actually, she revived it. My hair was now super shiny (salon products), looked healthy, thicker due to the great layers she gave it even had bounce. I just wanted to walk around the city to show off my hair and newly improved new attitude bs of it while drinking a glass of Rosé. Thank you Class Hair Studio for giving a selective, and sometimes demanding and fastidious epicurean client, a wonderful experience at your salon. I look forward to being pampered, numerous times next year. A Class act salon! *****

This is my new favorite salon. Alma gave me a haircut and highlights. The prices are very good considering NYC prices. Girls let me tell you, my hair is healthier than before. I have dark hair and the ashy highlights just blend so nice with my natural color. Highly recommend it and I can’t wait for my next appointment.

$245 Balayage/haircut "special" is actually $387.49...because they want $60.00 to dry your hair...which is how one see's the outcome of color adjustments PLUS $55.00 for toner (really). Please do ask for an itemized cost before each and every step of the way...or ya might be surprised...I'm so annoyed I'm going to ask for return of tip. And, now also need to find a color corrector service in NYC *asap* as I do not want to walk around with platinum blonde hair!! Staff seems really nice though, so I'm disappointed to continue the hunt for a go-to hair place. sigh

Yolanda and the owner have both done my color and cut and it is always perfect. Not easy because I have red hair. They did exactly what I wanted. The studio is so sweet, stylish and cheerful.

The shampoo alone is worth the visit. They take their time washing your hair and massaging the scalp, it is so relaxing and therapeutic. I've seen several hairstylists and every one of them has done an excellent job. I get long layers and after they are done, my hair cascades naturally, they are the only salon that has been able to get it right. Their prices are also reasonable for NYC and less than most other salons. Highly recommend seeing any hairstylist here, especially if you have long hair. They do a beautiful job.

I went out on a limb and tried this studio since they had such a great deal going on (balayage & cut for $245). Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. I arrived, showed my stylist some inspiration photos and hoped for the best. I just wanted some blonde throughout my hair, and since they offered the balayage special, I assumed they knew what they were doing. The stylist rushed through my color and I was worried it was going to look like I had blonde tiger stripes in my hair (spoiler alert: it does). She put me in the shampoo chair to continue processing, and she started another clients color. Look, I am all for fitting in as many clients as you can during your work day, but when it starts to effect your other clients -- I think you've taken on too many. Because she wasn't finished coloring the client after me, I sat in the shampoo chair, getting my hair washed multiple times, or just sitting around for nearly 45 minutes. I got a random treatment, because she didn't know what to do with me since she wasn't finished. I spent two and half hours in the studio, for a service that took half that time. Once she was finally done with the other clients color, her and I switched spots and my haircut began. I knew I wanted a trim and to freshen up the layers. Halfway through my haircut, she leaves to go check on the other client, and when she comes back, she makes it seem like she doesn't know where she left off. Well, I now have uneven pieces of hair because of that. She blow dries my hair and once I get home I see the damage of the color. Uneven blend and stripe-like pieces throughout. The exact look I was not going for. Everyone was friendly, but I definitely would not recommend this place. Take your money, energy and time elsewhere. Don't be fooled by the specials.

Managed to book a last minute appointment for a blow dry here on a busy Saturday morning - super friendly and accommodating. I also requested a scalp massage from the hair-washer and she was great. Blow dry result was fantastic and just what I asked for - only had to remind for product/heat protection to be added. Would return!

I called and they picked up the phone right away! They answered all my questions, and I was able to make an appointment. The customer service was amazing, and everyone there was so nice! My haircut was just what I was hoping as well. When I came in they shampooed and conditioned my hair before the cut, It was nice and relaxing. She also understood everything I wanted and it turned out fantastic. The best part was that the entire service was only 40$ I would highly recommend to anyone.

I came for highlights and a haircut while traveling here for work. I showed a couple inspiration photos and my stylist did exactly what the photo had looked like. Which meant it doesn't actually work for ME. I like my stylists to understand that the photos are for inspiration--I consider stylists to be artists and to be skilled in their craft. I respect their opinions and would like them to be more confident when something might not work because I truthfully don't understand it as well as they do. So the highlights didn't come out the way I thought they would for how much I paid. And the haircut... You know how sometimes, a haircut is SO GOOD, it stays stylish even a few months after a cut? And every time you wash it, people ask if you've just gotten it cut but really, it's just because it was cut extremely well the first time? This is not that place. My stylist did not do that. Three weeks after my haircut here I feel I have to get another haircut to fix it. The staff were nice and friendly. They were amenable. The service was just a little disappointing. Perhaps there are more skilled stylists here but it's not the standard.

I went to Class Hair for a half head of highlights and a haircut. Alma did a wonderful job! The salon had a great atmosphere, was clean and everyone was very friendly. I'm not a fan of having to spend 6 hours in the salon, so I appreciated that the highlights, shampoo, hair mask, head massage (and a wonderful one at that!), cut and style only took about 3 hours. After a day or two, I did realize that I wished there were a few more highlights in a specific section. Alma got me back in the chair almost immediately and fixed the issues with swiftness and kindness! My only minor critique is that they up-charged me for a couple of things, but they didn't inform me until checkout. I understand some things are an extra "add on", but I just would've appreciated a heads up in the moment. But overall it was a wonderful experience! Alma was fantastic and Rose is a shampoo/head massage magician. Seriously, I'm probably going to stop getting massages, and just go to Class Hair for a shampoo and blowout.
