Approximately a decade ago, I visited Dr. Lauren Chavez at ClearWaves (formerly located on Juan Tabo) for laser treatments to address mild acne. Unfortunately, this decision became the biggest regret of my life. After my first treatment I experienced severe breakouts. The clinic staff repeatedly assured me this was normal so I continued trusting their advice despite my worsening condition. With each session my skin became increasingly red and painful, developing large cystic acne. When I raised concerns again, Dr. Chavez decided to combine two different lasers into a single session. This drastically worsened my condition, leaving me with extreme pain and quarter-sized nodules that persisted for years. It was deeply humiliating and caused me significant emotional distress. I never came back for my final pre-paid session, and the clinic never followed up with me on my worsening condition. Now, a decade later, I still live with permanent skin damage, scarring, extreme sensitivity, and deep regret. While I understand that cosmetic treatments like these come with certain risks, I feel the doctor and staff misled me and continued harmful procedures even after I repeatedly voiced concerns. I spent a considerable amount of money only to have my skin irreparably damaged. I wouldn’t wish my experience on anyone.

I'm currently in the process of having a large tattoo removed. I've had two sessions so far and I've been really impressed with the results. Dr. Chavez and Hannah have been amazing throughout the process, providing exceptional care. The treatment does cause some discomfort, especially since it's on my hip, but the sessions are quick and I feel at ease with Hannah and Dr. C. In my opinion, the results are definitely worth the temporary pain. I'm looking forward to scheduling my next appointment.

I went for my 1st microneedling appointment with the Micropen Elite and it felt great. I've struggled with acne scars and wanted to try this treatment. Dr. Chavez and Hannah were really kind and welcoming. I also love how responsive they are when I have questions via text etc. I look forward to my next appointment. I would definitely recommend.

This is by far the best experience I've had after several lazer tattoo removal services at different places. It usually takes me about a year to work up the courage for the next session as it has been very painful at other places.The pain was very limited if any at all i was amazed that i barely felt anything at all. The Dr and her assistant made me feel very comfortable as I was feeling very uneasy and dreading the appointment because of past experiences. I have now found the place I will continue on the rest of my tattoo removing journey and look forward to my next appointment.

Went for my first tatto removal treatment today, and this was the best experience anyone can have, they make u feel very comfortable, and there office is super clean very professional. Wouldn't go anywhere else! Highly recommended so worth the money. First treatment took off 60% of my tattoo. Thank you guys so very much!

After reading other reviews I decided Clearwaves was the best tattoo removal option in the area and committed to driving a 3-hour round trip to get to them for each appointment. It was absolutely worth it and I would definitely recommend them for tattoo removal, I got my last treatment today and it was hard to see where to point the laser because it is almost completely gone. The staff and Dr. Chavez were always warm and welcoming and I could communicate via text which is amazing.

I’m having a tattoo removal. I’m on my second treatment. Arthur took care of my treatment. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. I arrived early to have numbing cream placed on the area. This helped a lot.. I’ve seen other places that charge for this. The office is very comfortable and clean. On every appointment Dr. Chavez has always talked to me before and after. Caring people. I highly recommend this location.

I highly recommend ClearWaves Medical Laser Group. Their staff is amazing! Professional, friendly and helpful. I have had about 4 sessions now on my tattoo removal process and I have been able to see drastic results. My tattoo is less than 2 inches in size so the treatment has been quick and painless. During this trying time in our lives, they have done everything in their power to making sure their clients feel safe and secure while getting treatment at their facility. Their scheduling is quick and easy and they have gone above and beyond to work with mine! Definitely check them out!! Dr. Chavez and her staff were fantastic! And for people who are not into reading long reviews, I will just say that it was a great experience, and my eyebrow tattoos are now virtually undetectable to the naked eye after 3 to 4 treatments. Last year I opted to get permanent eyebrow tattoos, which I felt was the best solution for my middle-aged thinning brows (it was not!). After a couple months of unsuccessfully trying to fix/remove them myself (which only made it worse!) I reached out to Dr. Chavez via email in desperation. She took the time to write me a personal email, which convinced me I should at least go in for a consultation. I was immediately struck by Dr. Chavez’s complete honesty and professionalism. She explained the process and the difficulty of removing cosmetic inks. She did not set unrealistic expectations and explained that this might not be a quick fix. She also explained potential side effects, like potential skin darkening. She started with a small test area to see how my skin would respond, and I believe I waited a couple weeks before beginning treatment. Any skin darkening I may have experienced was short-lived. The layers of cosmetic inks disappeared with each treatment, transitioning from brown to auburn to yellow and finally back to normal skin tones. I am so thankful I took a chance on ClearWaves! Yes, I recommend them!

Dr. Chavez is very engaged and wants to make sure her patients get the results they are looking for. Her staff are great! Hello, I've been going to ClearWaves Medical Laser Group for tattoo removal and I'm on my 3rd laser treatment and the results are great! My tattoo has faded so much! I'm excited to have the experience of ClearWaves. Their staff is professional every time! I'm greeted with smiles, excitement and the attitude to get things done. They answer all my questions and explain them to the fullest.They also make it clear that they are available 24/7 If I run into any problems with my treatment. Also I have some acne scars that I'm going to look into clearing up and I will definitely be going to Dr. Chavez and her amazing staff.

I can't comment on results yet as my first treatment was today, but I have to give Dr. Chavez and ClearWaves a 5 star review for their outstanding customer service. My skin, like many, is complicated, acne prone and extremely sensitive. I had A LOT of questions and concerns and Dr. Chavez and her staff took the time to answer me patiently and thoroughly. My treatment was very comfortable and everyone made me feel at home. I can't wait to see my progress!

I highly recommend Dr. Chavez and her staff. I just had my third session for removal of a small light blue tattoo and it's nearly gone :-)!!! The lasers this group uses are top notch. Everyone at ClearWaves is friendly, helpful, and patient to answer any all questions you may have (and I had a ton of questions, I was so nervous). The facility itself is inviting and clean. I am moving out of state and still working on removing another tattoo-- Dr. Chavez went above and beyond by researching a few places I could potentially go to there. I'm sad to no longer be under their care!

I like many others got a name tattoo. I regretted it, so I went online looking for tattoo removal. I somehow came across ClearWaves and read some reviews and decided to give them a shot. During my initial assessment I was told it would take about 6 sessions. The staff explained the process and to give it time. After 3 sessions the name is nearly gone. I’m over the moon with the results. All the staff is very nice. It was a wonderful experience and I’d highly recommend them. Thank You Clearwave Staff and Dr. Lauren!

I was referred to Clear Waves by another Med Spa to have the permanent makeup on my eyebrows lasered off, They were dark and uneven and has black and grey dark spots. We did a few test spots to see first and I came back a week later to get them completely done. I couldn't be happier, the results immediately were extremely noticeable. The staff and Dr. Lauren were very understanding and so amazing and made me feel hope in an almost hopeless situation. I highly recommend them, they make you feel like family and were as excited about the results as I am. My eyebrows will continue to fade more over the next 6 months, but I am able to go and get the permanent makeup done by someone else! They saved my face. I couldn't be happier

I went to Clearwaves and Dr Chavez to see what could be done to revise some scars on my face and head from an injury. After an initial consultation, Dr Chavez and the Clearwaves team jumped right in and began a Profractional Laser Treatment on the area. The results have exceeded my expectations and I'm delighted with the results. In my case, there was little to no pain. Dr Chavez and the Clearwaves staff clearly communicated the steps of what to expect during and after the procedure and what steps I had to take to care for the area after treatment. They have been very professional and always available to answer any questions I've had during treatment. Considering the quality of equipment and the specialized level of skill provided at Clearwaves the prices charged are extremely reasonable.

My girlfriend went last year for her 1st laser tattoo removal session. She was charged $215 after tax for a session, and the tattoo didn't look much different. Now she found another place and they only charge her $80 a session. The tattoo is the size of an index card. If you have money to blow this is your place. If you want the same results and want to save $100+ see your options!!

The whole experience was great! My first day consultation was done through text with pictures I sent. They immediately responded and gave me a decent quote. With that, I made an appointment. On my appointment day, I was welcomed with smiles 😊 The whole process of the tattoo removal was simple and I was made extremely comfortable. May I add, they have no judgement on what tattoo you have or make any remarks or comments about an embarrassing tatt. So...I made another appointment! The second time around, was even better. I was able to see before and after pics. Wow! What a difference.. it really does work. I am taking my life back all thanks to Clearwaves! I am truly regaining my self esteem and am a repeat customer!! (They also have great discounts)😉

Extremely disappointed. Minimal if any results to acne after spending nearly $2,000. Did not work. No follow up after treatments to discuss results. A waste of time & money.

Extremely happy with the services I received from Dr. Chavez and her staff. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I have to drive 180 miles to get to her office and it is worth it. I've compared prices in El Paso and Las Cruces and Dr. Chavez is the most reasonable. Would definitely recommend her services.

This is the greatest possible experience you can hope for to get a tattoo removed! I have a fairly large tattoo covering the entire portion from the bottom of my bicep to my shoulder and I have been getting treated with Dr. Chavez and her wonderful staff! The experience is relatively gentle (if you got a tattoo then you can handle this) and the results have been very profound and noticeable after the first treatment. Dr. Chavez’s expertise and experience speak for themselves and I could not recommend a better place to go for tattoo removal.
