I used to go there once a while for trimming the hair. Unfortunately, this week I hired a indelicate Russian hair stylish and I left there in shock. I showed her the picture that I would like she does on my hair. It was a beautiful hair style on the shoulder. She cut my hair under the ears!!!! Now, I can't look myself at the mirror. I feel horrible !!!! Also, this lady didn't feel me comfortable: She complained bcse I wanted to hold my phone and I wanted to have my purse on my side. I don't think I will come back. I hope this business can fix this problem and it doesnt happens with other clients.

I have been going to the C&M hair salon since 2011, which makes it a 13-year period. Claire has always been my hairstylist, and over time, she has also become a friend. We know quite a bit about each other already. Over the last 13 years, I have not had one bad experience with Claire or the salon. I highly recommend it. By the way, I have been living in Switzerland for the past two years, and every time I come to New York, I make sure to visit Claire. That should say a lot about this place.

Oh my gosh I cannot even tell you how wonderful this salon is. The amazing people there are kind and incredibly professional. I showed up with a true hair emergency — a young child whose long hair was so ensnarled in a wide tooth comb that there seemed no hope of ever getting it untangled. And yet-// they did! And the sobs turned to smiles and the fear changed to pride and now I want to tell the whole world about it. We didn’t have an appointment, I don’t even live here and they totally saved the day. I might have to come to New York myself just so Lana and Claire can cut and style my hair.

I had great experience having my hair cut and colored by Lana for the first time. She is a friendly and a precision hairstylist. I showed her a picture of the haircut I wanted and she cut it exactly like the picture. I am very happy with my haircut and color too. I will be coming back for Lana again. Thank you.

By far, the best salon on the Upper East Side.. Clare, Lana, Goldie, and the other girls, too, are the best in the business. The salon is very welcoming! Excellent with haircuts, color, and highlights. Very affordable, too!

I needed to find a new salon after my stylist of 30 years retired. C and M was recommended so I gave it a try and was very pleased with the result. Rebecca colored and cut my hair and did a great job-exactly what I asked for. The staff was professional and friendly and the price was good for the UES. Will definitely return.

Awful place. I’ll never return ever. Even if I’m desperate. Claire I’m extremely disappointed. I’m convinced none of you can cut or style hair. $90 for a cut, style and blow out was an overcharge in terms Of results. Basic style. Cheap products and barely even spent a half hour on the job. Entry level style. Ireney the Russian stylist is a complete fraud. And that nasty rude woman in the back is the reason why I took so long return in the first place. Over the year’s you ppl made a lot of money off me and today when I returned I was put on the spot with the price and because it was a gift for a friend I didn’t want to up and go. Next time I’ll go with my gut instinct and go somewhere else. Don’t bother responding because I’ll just respond back and continue leaving reviews on all platforms 🪓

The Greatest Hair Salon on the Upper East Side...I tried many salons on the UES..Some had no clue how to do color or give a decent hair cut!! Others were so over priced it was ridiculous... C & M has the best hairstylist and colorist in the Upper East Side. Their prices are very responsible too!

Went couple of weeks ago to get my hair dark brown. Lana recommend to go darker and she NEVER mentioned that she will put black and not dark brown. I don’t like it at all and came back to see how to fix it. She said this is dark brown then when we looked at the color it says natural black and the manger Claire said this is black and we can fix it but you have to pay $350. I felt that this is very unprofessional that you care to get more money and you don’t care to fix the problem you guys caused or to make the customer happy not to mention that I payed $195 for single process although it’s $117-119 at the salons next to them. Didn’t like how they didn’t take responsibility to fix the problem or even cared to make the customer happy.

Lana was very nice and welcoming for my first time here. I showed her one picture of a lob cut and she instantly knew how to cut and style my hair in a way that suits my face. Loved my new cut and full head color! The whole team including the manager Claire, was great. The dark wine red color was exactly I wanted for my hair, and my cut was nicely done from the stylist. Overall experience was great from everyone and definitely returning again in the next few months for my touch up. Thank you!

Avoid. None of the stylists ive seen have any clue how to blow dry curly (thin) hair. Ive come here a few Times wanting it to be good, but its not. The blow dry is consistently AWFUL (no matter who does it) and I get my hair blowdried about once a week. They must use cheap products and try to push other services on you. Will not be back again.

I’ve used Lana for years and have been very happy with her work but recently moved to Long Island and decided to try someone local just weeks before my wedding day (I know…dumb move!) I visited with Lana the week of my wedding desperate for her to fix the horrible color job I had received at the other salon. She and her team worked an absolute miracle turning me from a witch to a princess in time for my special day! I am truly grateful! Thank you Lana!

Loving my hair cute! I was referred here it is not a I would walk in to as it is away from me. But definitely had to come here. My friends bangs looked so good! I had been going to places that changed so much more and did not go half as good a job as Claire did. It’s nice to find a place that can deal with my hair. I have fine hair most people over dry my hair leaving it even smelling like it was burned. But this place I feel like my hair got a treatment but I did not. Feels so health! Thank you guys! Love love my hair again!

I came into this salon in an absolute panic because another establishment had messed up my hair. Vasso calmed me down, gave me good advice, and colored my hair. She was able to mask the bad color while doing minimal damage to my hair. Everyone was kind and professional, I will definitely be coming back!

I have been coming here for close to 20 years and been getting my hair done by the same stylist, Claire, for almost 10. The salon is clean, services are fairly priced, and the styling of hair - from cuts to color to styling, is amazingly beautiful! These people are all artists who truly love what they do. Since COVID they have been adhering to all COVID policies, social distancing, masks, and cleaning ALWAYS. I’ve always been delighted with the work they’ve done, the service they provide is stellar. I’m truly grateful they are in Yorkville. ❤️
