Cnn hair team is by far the best salon for asian hair. I've been to a couple of salons and they just don't get it. However CNN hair team is efficient, detailed, kind, knowledgeable and professional. They take their time to listen and advice the best suitable hair styles for you. They provide drinks if u ask too. Eugene is so nice and he takes care of my hair carefully and beautifully. I've been going to him many times for Japanese straightening, coloring and hair cuts. Sue is also wonderful, she translate to every hair stylish and helps whenever she can. The salon is clean, music is good and smells good too. Overall 5 stars!

The owner and stylist, eugene, is the worst hairstylist I’ve ever had. Gave me a terrible haircut that was too short and had no layers and kept asking weird questions throughout the session.

Completely ignored the photos I showed for reference for cut and color. My hair was butchered! Only wanted 2” overall length removed for very long layers in hair that I had been growing out for over a year. Instead 6”+ chopped off with no blending so it looks like I have a modified mullet or two different curtain lengths of hair. Will never go back.

My hair is ruined from excess layers and hair thinning. It is all puffy and sticks out. I don’t recommend this hair salon if you have thick coarse hair.

Kelly k cut my Hair exactly how I wanted it. This is the best haircut I have had in a couple years. She made sure my bangs shape my face like I asked her to. Amazing Place!

My stylist Eunhee Kang helped me trimmed my long wavy hair. It turned out exactly what I wanted. My curls look bouncier and I feel lighter. Thank you Eunhee! Update: Had another hair cut with Min and also an amazing experience! Highly recommend CNN Hair Salin!

I have been coming to CNN hair salon every other years to get digital perm and it had always turned out amazing. I wanted to give a review this time because the salon was exceptionally great! After my perm, the hair returned back to straight after a couple of hours, when I called the salon, Eugene, my hairdresser, asked me to come back on Sunday even though they’re closed to get it fixed when I told them I was leaving Texas the following Monday. Even though I moved to Florida, i will always come back to CNN hair salon to get my perm because they are very accommodating and professional!

I saw Eugene. He was very precise, detailed, and otherwise great. But he cut my hair at least three inches shorter than I asked. My explanation was long, and his assistant's translations was rather short, so maybe she just didn't explain very well what I meant. But I was genuinely shocked with how much shorter it was than I asked for.

I got a Korean straight perm when I traveled to Seoul, and I love it so much that I want to do it again. Sadly I couldn't find a salon in San Antonio with enough knowledge in Korean or Japanese straight perm. After some research, I found the CNN Hair Team salon in Austin. Since I live in San Antonio, they were nice enough to conduct the consultation by having me send pictures of my hair. After that, I made an appointment. I was happy to learn that my hairstylist, Eunhee, is Korean and very familiar with the procedure. She and the rest of the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Even though it was a long drive from San Antonio, it was worth it. I definitely recommend CNN Hair Team salon.

We decided to give Min a try despite the negative review he received recently. Unfortunately, our experience mirrored the previous one. The haircut did not resemble the photo we provided at all. It took less than 20 minutes, and the back was not blended properly. Additionally, his hair was waxed, which was not in the picture, and there were hair clippings all over his face. I called the salon to get the stylist's name, and thankfully, the receptionist was very sweet. She sincerely apologized, asked how they could make it right, and even offered to refund our money. I want to at least thank CNN for having one of the best, most understanding receptionist!

Min saved my hair twice, he is the best! Last year, I asked my husband to cut my hair, which turned out to be a terrible idea. Made an appointment with Min, showed him a reference picture, he replicated it perfectly and even better. Recently, I had another disappointing experience with a different barber. Once again, Min came to my rescue, expertly fixing the cut. Managing my curly hair can be challenging, and I rarely feel satisfied with new haircuts, but Min consistently exceeds my expectations with his skill and attention to detail.

I used this place twice. I had FANTASTIC experience with Eugene Choe (I would give 5 stars for Eugene). The second time, I had Thuanly Ho. AVOID HER. Very grumpy and unprofessional. When I showed my own photograph of what I would like my hair to be trimmed. She bluntly said she cannot do that because the hair in the photo is straight (but I did not do any straight perm, I showed my own photo). When I asked her for hair coloring, she just did along my face. So I had to ask her to do the back. Then I was left alone for 2 hours. Finally she washed and trimmed my hair, without saying anything. Some splash went in my eyes, and she scratched my face while rubbing off the excessive hair color dyed my face.. She did not seem to even care whether her customer is treated with a dignity. No conversation, no nothing. It took almost 3 hours, and I had to ask her to stop hair drying/styling as I had to go. No "hi", "see you", or "thank you" or any decent greetings throughout. It was pain to pay $180 for this terrifying experience.

I'm very particular about how my hair is done, so it took very long before I finally found a salon that matched my expectations. My hair was done by Mr. Eugene Choe. He is an expert, and he did my Japanese hair straightening very well. Their equipments are up to date, which add to the pleasant experience. No painful tugging/pulling of the strands of my hair while being ironed and very minimal hair breakage throughout the process. The result is long lasting, provided that you also take care of it (organic/clean shampoo & conditioner, coconut oil, vitamin E, etc.). CNN w/ Mr. Eugene Choe is definitely recommended if you'd like to have your hair Japanese straightened. Photo taken by my husband from an event. He loved the result.

Decided to give this hair salon another try and with the one the got mentioned a lot - Min Kim. Finished my hair within 20 mins, burned my forehead when drying my hair and didn’t come out like the picture I showed him or look like what I expected at all (too short for 2 block, no texture or layers), and I felt like I got rushed. I don’t think this a good place if you want Korean hair style.

I’ve been in Austin for 4 years now and I’ve finally found someone who knows how to manage my hair! I was driving all the way back to Houston because all my cuts with highly recommended stylists in Austin (some $150 for cut alone) were terrible! I have Korean hair—thick, wavy, and can get heavy yet stringy at the same time. This is my second cut with Min and he’s phenomenal!! I always bring photos as a reference and he makes it look like the pics but better. He cuts my hair dry, which I love! I finally have hair that has volume at the top and movement and he respects how much I’m willing to cut off. Just noted, he is primarily Korean speaking but other staff is there to help translate at the start of the cut.
