I had by far the best experience at ColorLab! I booked a root to tip color with Monique, and it was genuinely the first time I have ever actually liked (in this case, loved) the color I got! Monique was perfect - she asked questions to determine what I wanted + didn't want, gave great advice, and gave me exactly what I wanted! Christian also helped with finishing touches after Monique finished my color, and was so lovely. Everyone there was so incredibly friendly, and I could not recommend ColorLab more -- I am now a happy + loyal customer!

The first time i came here i had a great experience! convinced me to stop doing my hair at home because they were so nice and it came out great! I came back again and everyone was so nice again- but when i got home i realized i was charged with a $40 hair treatment i didn’t know i got and didn’t ask for. I’d love to come back again but id probably go back to the first person i went to for more transparency on what i’d be paying.

Samantha has colored my teen daughter’s hair three times now, and whether it’s balayage or highlights, she’s done a great job! We are so happy we found this salon and her!

AMAZING! I’ve always been anxious about coloring my hair and have gone to the same stylist my whole life. Moving to Chicago, I had no clue where to go and thank god I found Color Lab!!! Christian was so kind and stayed past closing time (in negative degree weather) despite me booking the wrong kind of appointment/time slot for what I needed done. He colored my hair beautifully and blended my natural shades wonderfully. The amount of compliments I got at work this morning is off the charts and I truly feel like myself again! Cannot thank or recommend the Color Lab enough!! Plus he has the cutest dog ever.

This place is AMAZING. I went in about a year ago for color correction and have never looked back. I see Christian and not only is he delightful, he gets my color perfect. It is shockingly affordable as well.

Was NOT satisfied with the outcome of the color….color definitely did not match the color in my hair, no where near the color. I felt that a professional hair colorist should have been able to match the color I had and I only needed the new growth touched up. I was in NYC several months previous and decided to get a color touch up and the stylist was able to match my color 100%. She did a fantastic job!

Where do I begin. They texted me to let me know that I was in a too short time slot that wouldn’t allow my hair to be blow dried. They informed me I would have to do it myself. Unable to avoid a cancellation charge, I showed up and decided to go darker than I originally planned due to their slot mistake caused by the online appointment process. I was rushed through the coloring process still and my hair wasn’t lifted enough. The hair colorist poured toner that dripped into my ear thus later on, giving me an ear infection. The shampooist decided to blow dry my hair with minimal product and burned it. I walked home only 10 minutes, and in natural light, the hair was brassy and frizzy. It was the ugliest hair I have ever had! I looked better coming into the salon then leaving it. I’m deeply disappointed that after my complaint, I wasn’t even offered a refund. Disgusting and unethical policies. I went to a different salon 2 weeks later and got the color I wanted after a color correction although some of the original ugly color the Color Lab gave me is still there because it was hard to lift. An all over terrible experience here! They deserve negative 5 stars!

Christian was very attentive while picking out which shade of red I wanted and the color came out perfectly! I appreciated him making sure he knew exactly what I wanted. All of the staff are super friendly, they serve coffee and tea, and they don't try to sell you a bunch of products you don't need, which I always prefer since I'm set on my care routine. Definitely recommend this place, they have speedy service yet take their time when deciding what to do with your hair.

Clinton hooked my 4c hair up!!! He did better than most natural hairstylists I’ve been to and that is the honest to God truth. My hair is a tapered cut, and so many people with hair like mine were highly impressed with the results.

From start to finish, the experience was amazing. Monique and Christian were welcoming, knowledgeable, and very forthcoming. Monique did an excellent job fixing another stylists error and the end result was better than we could have imagined. Thank you, and we will 100% be using this salon moving forward exclusively.

I just have to say that Clinten is a hair color wizard 💖 He made my unicorn mermaid hair dreams come true after a subpar balayage that I had gotten from a beauty school. It wasn’t the worst, but Clinten fixed it up and went above and beyond. My ends were damaged from heat styling & bleach, but I really wanted to keep my length, so Clinten just dusted the ends and cleaned them up. THANK YOU for not being scissor happy and chopping it all off like a beauty student had a few cuts ago! I love that this salon keeps Olaplex and K18 in stock. No one pressured me to buy anything, but I super appreciated the recommendations when I asked for them. When it’s time, I’m definitely coming back. The vibes are great. I had to go out of town almost immediately after having my hair colored, so I don’t have great pictures of my hair freshly done, but I LOVE how my hair has faded. PS I would die for Charlie, the adorable Yorkie keeping everyone company while we were getting our hair done :)

This photo does not do justice to the amazing work Samantha did. I came in with a vague, unique concept of the colors of an oil streak with an iridescent effect and she went above and beyond to create a beautiful design. Sam and the staff in general were all super friendly and this experience was a dream.

From the ratings that I saw before going to the location seemed very promising and the stylists seem very talented at the work they do, but this is only an assumption considering I wasn't even able to access the facility. Their website nor the person that answered the phone when I called ahead notified me that you will need to call yourself in and that parking is very limited for people that will be driving to their shop. This at first was fine beforehand as I tried to get all of that on my own. However despite preparation on where to park, sadly public parking there only had a max of 2 hours, so if you have multiple appointments that will take longer, expect to get a parking ticket. (At that rate even with that I was accepting that consequence). When I got to the glass doors, I pulled and pushed both doors on the left and right and noticed they were locked. I followed the door sign instructions to call for the shop and I got no response plus one voicemail on the speaker. About 4 to 5 stylists were seen through the windows and doors working on their clients and seemed too busy to notice me trying to get in. (Understandable but still frustrating when you're trying to get in for more than 5 to 10 minutes and you're seen outside struggling). After I gave up and left, about 30 minutes later driving back I received an email and a missed call from them stating they assumed I left because I "didn't notice the door to my left" to come in as if it was unlocked and showed a picture. I tried opening both doors including the one they showed me to get in and they were still both locked at that time. They politely said they would like to reschedule my consult but due to the stress of trying to get to the location and inside the shop, I politely decline the offer. I'm leaving this review just a heads up for anyone commuting by their own car to instead do public transport to avoid parking hassle, and to possibly expect locked doors unless the employees start leaving their doors unlocked during operation hours after this.

I made an appointment for a haircut four days in advance. Got a call 50 mins before the appointment saying they don’t have time to blowout my hair because they are running behind. What kind of service is this and why would be ok to do my service halfway?????

Monique was so kind and very talented. My roots were grown out way too long, and she not only fixed it but made it way better than I've ever had my hair done in the past. I highly recommend her!
