Do not get your hair done here. Mike is very nice but this is the worst highlights and cut I’ve ever had. Way too many highlights like almost single process look. I asked for very few with plenty of contrast to my real color. And highlights were nowhere near the root so it already looks rooty 2 days later. And there were odd long pieces left so I had to get the cut fixed. And it cost over $750.00.

I was recommended this place by a very trustworthy friend. I’ve been having trouble finding someone that understands how to work with my hair type but I was overdue for a haircut so I decided it was time. Mike was amazing. He is very knowledgeable and communicative about anything to do with hairstyles, textures, and hair care. I think I found my new stylist. Thank you so much, I will definitely be back!

Mike is nothing short of an artist! I do not trust anyone else with my hair. He goes above and beyond every time. I've never had this much volume / movement in my hair before seeing Mike. My hair is naturally quite dark, but the balayage he did has so many incredible tones of cool blonde, it feels more like an art piece than a hairstyle. It has also never been so healthy with color despite getting a full balayage, as Mike keeps hair health in mind when I return for touch ups. People are always asking me where I get my hair done! If you're looking for someone to give your hair new life, Mike is the person to go to.

It’s taken me 3 years to find a good colourist in the city and Mike was seriously amazing! He got me to the colour I wanted and loved which was something others told me they weren’t able to do! He is a blonde master and very talented at doing hair! Great experience.

I cannot say enough good things about Mike! He really has magic hands and this is the first time I have left a hair salon in my life where I was delighted and impressed by the outcomes (yes I am picky). He listens and understands exactly what you need, he uses the highest quality materials to maintain hair health and is such a pleasure to spend time with! His studio is such a unique experience- everything done lovingly by hand (by him!) using natural and recycled materials, and he provides one on one attention to his clients (he does not use support staff!) which he really gets to know. All I can say is - you owe it to yourself to have Mike care for your hair.

I went in for a basic blonde highlight, touch up. Mike insisted that my hair was too damaged to highlight (which I've never been told before), so he applied a single-process, root touch-up that turned my hair orange! He also insisted on cutting my hair, which I repeatedly told him I didn't want- when I finally gave in I ended up with a shapeless, super-blunt cut that was way too short for my curly hair! He was incredibility rude when I called to express my frustration and told me he had me on video (which is just shady). This guy has no clue what he's doing - the stylist I saw to have it fixed was equally as confused as to why he would put a single process on my roots as my hair wasn't damaged at all. And the best part, he had the nerve to charge me $665 for this single process and a bad cut! He claimed he did all sorts of very difficult coloring and correcting -but it was literally slapping one color on my roots. Total scam.

Mike truly loves working with hair, and it shows in his attention to detail and his interest in his clients as partners in curating beautiful hair. He worked with me to understand my goals, build a plan around them and to make sure that I understood clearly how to maintain my hair. The experience was pleasant and comfortable, and Mike himself was a pleasure to spend time chatting with. Mike changed my hair from dark brown to medium blonde through a double-process, and skillfully guided the specific choice of base color based on what would complement my natural skin tones. He also applied a keratin treatment and trimmed it. I trust him to manage my hair and am looking forward to continuing to work together with him.

This is the best hair color experience in New York, and I've been to many of the best salons. Mike is known as the "hair whisperer" and he completely lives up to that. He is a true master with hair color, and he cares so much. He makes you feel like his most valued client, not like other impersonal salons that churn you in and out. The result was amazing - he corrected my brunette color which wasn't working with my skin color, and now I finally feel I found the color that works best for me.
