She truly gets it—whether it’s the haircut, color, or product recommendations, she just knows what works for me. My hair looks incredible, and I couldn’t be happier. Desi’s customer service is unmatched. She’s so warm, kind, and welcoming, and she really makes you feel comfortable throughout the entire experience. Always a great experience at Colt Counter. The location is convenient, great stylists, and almost everyone I have seen has done a great job! Meghan woo used regularly is very personable and knowledgeable with making recommendations what would look good!!

I registered for a root touch-up and cut ($135) Loni assumed I wanted highlights too….I didn’t stop her and should have as the cost was $175.00 which I found out when checking out. Additionally, when she shampooed me she did a toner for $48 without asking…the front desk removed the toner but stood firm on the highlights…which did not work…no highlights, just light brown root touch-up. I learned an expensive lesson…don’t fall victim to the Color Counter up-sell like I did.

I’ve been going to Ally for YEARS and she always does a great job. She’s patient and helpful when trying to figure out what would be best for me in terms of cut/ color especially because my hair can go both curly and straight. She is knowledgeable, kind and personable.. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her!

I have been coming to Color Counter for the last 4 to 5 year's. I had the worst experience yesterday. When I got there, I was told that Liz, who had my appointment with was running very very behind due to her client adding on additional services. I had one lady come and rush to put the color on my hair and I never saw her again. Then a different lady that washed my first of all, you could tell she was totally irritated that she had to come and wash my hair because I wasn’t her client. First she burned my head with the water burning hot. Then once I told her the water was too hot. She had such a bad attitude afterwards that’s when she was finished washing my hair. I asked her for a brush and told her that I will brush my own hair out and put my own products on. I love Culla Counter and enjoy all my experiences there but honestly, I have never experienced anything like yesterday.

It was a wonderful experience. I was skeptical at first because I had never been to a salon before, but one of the employees Taryn was so sweet enough to recommend me to Del Mar Height's Color Counter, and Brenda was the one that worked on my hair. We had a nice chat and she was very gentle with my scalp. I highly recommend this location to anybody looking for a great experience. Staff was wonderful and pricing was reasonable. I will definitely return if I need their services again.

The stylist was super nice and did ok with my color But when she did the blow out she was pulling so hard on my hair it not only gave me a headache but pulled my side extensions down. She didn’t seem familiar with blow outs with extensions I did say something finally but it was too late I had a head ache and the extensions were pulled . I don’t know if I’ll come back.

I was recommended by a close friend to get a haircut at Color Counter after they had a great experience, but my experience was awful to say the least. I told the stylist exactly what I wanted, and she ended up cutting my hair way shorter than I originally asked in the front, essentially giving me bangs which I did not want at all. She barely touched the back after I told her I wanted a couple of inches off the bottom and some layers, I think she cut off half an inch and added quite literally no layers. I knew it was going to be a bad experience after she washed my hair and put no product in it. Correct me if I’m wrong, but with every other salon I have been to, they at least put leave in conditioner or something after they wash your hair. The stylist put absolutely nothing and I could tell my hair was really dry and stripped from the shampoo she used. Lastly, I was not at all happy with my haircut and the way it looked, obviously because it was not at all how I asked it to be. I called the salon the next day and spoke with a receptionist who told me a manager would be in contact with me to discuss the experience. I didn’t hear from anyone for 4 days, so I ended up calling again. The same receptionist told me a supervisor would be in touch the same day. A few hours later, I get a call and explain what happened, and I was promised a refund by the end of the week. Another few days went by when I had to call again, and I asked to speak with the general manager. Again, the same receptionist answered, and told me Ally, the owner, was not there but she could give me a call. Not even a minute later I overhear through the phone a customer say she is there to get her hair done with Ally. By this point I was absolutely fed up and just wanted my money back. It doesn’t end there, but the fact that I had to speak to three different people about this situation which wasn’t even that major is purely ridiculous. I had to go out of my way multiple times to get a response and refund when it should have been them reaching out to me. After almost 2 weeks, multiple calls and conversations, and a haircut that looks horrible, I finally got a full refund. I don’t ever write reviews but this experience was beyond unacceptable and horrible. For $80, I don’t recommend risking getting your hair done here and having an experience like I did.

NEVER go to Color Counter , they are a mess !!! Had made my apt 30 days before my trip, They called to change the time I accommodated them by coming early, I confirmed the appointment on the text the day before And when I got there at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, they said they had NO ONE TO DO MY HAIR !!! They didn’t even call to tell…. 😭😤 They have over charge my credit card before, Complete MESS none of the stylists stay cant get any stylist to stay ☹️ You people need some help

I have been coming to this place for a couple of years, and I was very disappointed with my last visit. After getting my root touch-up with a stylist who seemed to be in a hurry that day, I noticed she had missed some of my gray hairs. Since I was out of town, I called them a week later to explain the issue and asked if they could fix what was missed. They welcomed me and scheduled a redo without mentioning any additional charges. At my appointment, I reminded the stylist that this was to fix the areas she had missed last time and asked her to confirm with the staff if there would be any charges. Unfortunately, she failed to ask. She only touched up a few small sections at the front and then charged me almost the full price for the service. If I had known they would charge me nearly full price, I would have waited a few weeks and asked for a complete touch-up. This experience felt very unprofessional and was a clear example of poor service.

Sadly Color Counter STYLIST (D.) and CUSTOMER SERVICE has been HORRIBLE. Started with my daughter waiting in the lobby for 50 minutes prior to greeting her (because she was running late). Our appointment was at 1pm, and at 1pm the salon called telling me stylist running 20- minutes late. It was already too late as my daughter walked in at 1pm.. Then when I mentioned to stylist that wow, you are almost an hour late to greet a new client... She made a condescending comment to me. Horrible! I would of walked out but I knew my daughter really wanted her hair done prior to her senior photos. My daughter went in for a Balayage, and left with just basic highlights. Then when I reached out to OWNER- ALLY, she has not returned any of my calls to rectify the situation. My daughter has been so sad that her hair is not what she asked for. We've had to move her senior photoshoot... Yes she had picture of what she wanted. We certainly didn't pay over $450 for basic highlights when we originally asked for Balayage. Extremely disappointed. I've left SEVERAL messages from 5/1 to 5/8 (spoke with Annette & Annalise- supposedly they were going to reach out to owner and get back to me. Still no answer as of today. BEWARE. This place is not worth it. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! TERRIBLE SERVICE!

I walked out of the salon with drenched hair and color staining my shirt! I can’t believe they didn’t even do a soft blow dry because I didn’t wanna pay for a blow dry I do not recommend this place at all

Quick and easy to book online. Lots of great hair dressers to choose from. Typical wait is 10-15 minutes but the service is usually fast.
