Saw this place on Yelp nearby and had to walk in. My bf and I are from out of town, so we came without an appointment & we were pretty close/walking distance to some of the hotels nearby. Entrance/storefront is a little hard to find but not impossible (go through the lobby). I really appreciated the cold water and overall ambiance of the place. It's giving luxurious IG salon & reminds me of LA without the crazy price tags. Service: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Taylor helped me out with a cut and color, it turned out so cute. I especially loved the consultation and how thorough it was. Taylor was meticulous about figuring out what I want (bless her, I'm so indecisive) but also making sure my layers were blended/even. She just has such a wonderful energy/aura, I've decided we're besties now. Jokes aside, we're pleasantly surprised at what a gem of a salon we found, because they really do mean all hair types (we both have straight Asian hair). It's usually kind of hard to find a place that does both men & women's hair well but Cultural Hair Lounge really showed out! Not only are the staff friendly and accommodating, they really know what they're doing and have no problem showing off their artistries. Just wish they offered waxing/threading eyebrow services. Overall, we're excited to go home with new hair do's and appreciate having such a great first time experience in a new city. Thanks y'all :)

I was visiting Pittsburgh and went to this Barber shop. Brandon gave me a shape up on my beard. The fade I got is hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. He paid great attention to detail, ensuring everything was blended perfectly and the cut was super clean. Atmosphere in the shop was also really welcoming.

There are not enough good things to say about this place. The atmosphere is authentically welcoming and inclusive and it's wonderful to see how much all the stylists enjoy working together. Rachel is an incredibly talented stylist who not only understands ethnic/curly hair needs, but also the unique needs of her clients. She has an eye for ensuring her clients leave with a look that exceeds their expectations and a warm, caring persona. While I didn't have the opportunity to experience the other stylists, they were equally impressive, engaging, and talented and their clients loved working with them. Definitely go here!

Cultural Hair Lounge was able to take a last minute appointment the day before school and made my daughter very happy with her new look. She wanted a soft and wavy look and I had no clue what that was but Rachel at Cultural knew what she wanted and made her a very happy sixth grader. She said it's the best her hair has ever looked. I was able to snag a same day appointment with Rachel. The salon is clean, beautiful, and nicely tucked away. She was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. We did a little consultation before getting to the service, which I appreciated. Rachel is very talented with her craft, was extremely kind and funny, and I felt so comfortable and cared for the whole time. I will definitely be back!

I have been coming here for almost a year and I’m so happy. I’m Latina with mixed hair so the idea of a multicultural hair salon caught my attention immediately specially after having a hard time finding a hair stylist that understood my hair in Pittsburgh. This has been IT. Sanoma has made wonders with my hair make it every time more healthy. Can’t speak enough of how good they are. A lounge salon experience from people that truly understand hair from different cultures. A WIN!!!

Sanoma is AMAZING! Previous hair dressers could not get my hair to grow past my shoulders, and one actually caused me to lose hair! But she has nursed my hair back to health and is passionate about helping my hair get back to how healthy it used to be. I was so discouraged because no one was able to help my hair, but she is very knowledgeable and such a sweetheart!

Honestly one of the best places I’ve ever been. Sanoma and Brandon with their family of hair stylists are so amazing, they have a vibe there that you don’t get at other places and that’s what keeps me coming back for more! I see Sanoma for mostly highlights and custom blonde. She is one of the best out of all of the places I’ve been from Cleveland to Pittsburgh. She knows her stuff and I trust her expertise and opinions. Today she came in clutch for color correction and is always amazing at what she does. If you’re looking for a lifelong friend like atmosphere work amazing blonde customization, I would suggest Sanoma and Cultural Hair Lounge!!

She skillfully wove my grays into my natural, elbow-length hair, creating a stunning dark ash blonde balayage that beautifully matches my natural gray pattern. I’ve been coming here for around 4 years and I have never received a bad cut from Brandon. The staff are friendly and create an incredible vibe. Brandon listens to what I want and is willing to work with me so I leave looking great, just how I want. I highly recommend Cultural Hair Lounge. Best barber shop/salon in Pittsburgh!

Sanoma is awesome. Very personable and honest which I appreciate. She wants your hair to be the best(healthiest) it can be and gives advice based on your lifestyle to maintain it. She has done balayage treatment, deep conditioning, straightened, and styled my natural hair. Every time has been tailored to me and what I can manage at home. The result is always beautiful!
