I had such a wonderful experience at this salon! I came to Raquel as a new client yesterday and from the moment I stepped in she was warm and welcoming. During my appointment she made sure I was comfortable with the entire process by checking in with me every step of the way and working together as a team. Amazing experience since the moment you step in the place. Education about my type of curls and every doubt I had was clarified, very knowledgeable and professional. I had detailed guidance on how to take care of my hair which is something I had issues with. She is a cute and lovely person. Despite having curly hair my whole life, I didn't know how to take care of it, so I always straightened it. During COVID, I stopped doing that, and embraced a curly hair journey. I realized I needed something different when at a haircut last year I was teaching my stylist how to style my curly hair, then paying her for it. So I started looking for someone in Charlotte to dry cut my curly hair and to educate me. By the time I saw Raquel for the first time, I had been 3 years straightener free, but was still doing damage to my hair with the blow dryer. Still, I was feeling good about my curls- i had come a long way! When I finally pulled the trigger to see her, Raquel was so warm, inviting, and supportive! She praised the work I was already doing on my journey, educated me on why I had heat damage, asked about the quality and type of water so she could use the right products, and taught me the importance of styling with sopping wet hair. Plus, she taught me the magic of using a buff and bonnet to sleep at night. I have been in love with my hair ever since! I appreciate how good Raquel made me feel so much, that I even started bringing my 11 year old daughter. If I didn't know how to take care of my curly hair in my 30s, she definitely didn't know how to take care of it in her pre-teens. We were always fighting about how knotted and nappy it was. But Raquel did what she always does: she complimented my daughter on what she's currently doing, built up her confidence with education, and armed her with the tools and resources she needs to be successful. She even let her try out the styling method while in the chair, sort of like hands on tutorials. If you're searching for a curly hair expert, Raquel is your (wing) woman. She'll make you look and feel great. Even better, you'll get the tips and advice you need to replicate the results on your own at home. Spend the money, it's worth it!

I just moved to Charlotte and had my first haircut with Raquel last night. It's the best curly cut and style I've ever had! Before getting started with the cut she really wanted to make sure she understood my vision for my hair and we looked through photos of previous cuts that I've liked (and didn't like) and inspiration photos. I've been exclusively wearing my hair curly for the past 9 years and thought I knew all there was to know about styling, but I learned so many tips and tricks from Raquel about what my specific hair type needs to get the volume and definition that I want. You can tell she cares deeply about all of her clients and wants everyone to leave her chair feeling like their best self! I can't wait for my next haircut!

I’ve never had a hair stylist who knew how to style my naturally curly hair. I knew there had to be someone out there who could do it so I started researching and found Raquel. She came with positive reviews and comments and so I made an appointment! I can verify that all the positives you find on her are the 100% accurate. I couldn’t be happier. I’m attaching pictures and nothing was done to my hair other than products and using a diffuser. No curling iron!!!

Super in love with this studio! Before coming in, I was losing hope to how I could keep my hair tamed and healthy again. Raquel has given me really good tips on buying the right product, how I could style it, and even tell me about my hair porosity! I would say it's worth going to her since she helps guide on your journey to have a healthy hair.

Amazing experience! Could not recommend enough! I have never gotten a haircut by someone who actually knows how to cut and style wavy/curly hair. Truly a wonderful experience! It's the first time I've EVER felt happy with a haircut in my entire life. I feel so empowered to be able to wear my hair with its natural curls and waves. Rocol was so kind and patient with all of my questions. I felt very cared for. 1000% worth the cost!

I have been going to Raquel for over three year now and I absolutely love what she is able to do with my hair every time! Finally…I have found someone who really understands curly hair!! I am a fairly new client with Raquel. My experience thus far has been exceptional. She not only knows the right way to cut, shampoo, condition, massage, apply proper products, and style curly hair—she is also an educator. She teaches me things about my hair strands and scalp that I never knew. She shows me how to use products and techniques so that I can get the same results at home that she does in the salon. Raquel has to be the best curly hairstylist I’ve ever met. Finding someone to cut curly hair is extremely difficult and someone who is actually good at it. Raquel is extremely efficient and talented at cutting curly hair. I’ve feel extremely comfortable with her cutting and styling my hair which is new for me. She is definitely worth scheduling with!

Raquel is a gold mine here in Charlotte. I'm from New York where it's quite easy to find a great curly hairstylist that cuts curls while they're dry, as you should, but could not find a reliable option when I moved down to Charlotte several years back. I was lucky enough to find Raquel's Salon eventually. She takes her time and executes with great attention to detail to every curl. Definitely recommend to all the curly heads in the area!!!

She is truly an absolute blessing to anyone with curly hair. I have never had my hair professionally cut till I went to her because no one I went to knew how to cut curly hair and my hair cuts always ended in tears. I was so nervous because I didn’t want my hair messed up but she has made my hair the healthiest and prettiest it has ever been in years. She educates you on how to manage and take care of it as well as styling for every kind of person. I am super active and have a newborn and I needed a routine that fits my life. She gave me my curls back and a custom routine that’s easy to follow. She is well worth every single penny. I will never go to anyone else for my curly hair.

I am so delighted to have found this place. Raquel is an amazing stylist and takes such care; from asking what you are looking for, what you are struggling with and to working with you to troubleshoot and find solutions. Each step of the way she confirms what you just told her before proceeding. My curls are happier than ever and I’m super happy with my color as well, covering up some gray. Me and my curls will keep coming back! A big shout out also for the excellent way she handles the whole customer experience. I have been searching for someone who understands my curls for what feels like a very long time, and through that process I have not had the best outcomes- Raquel is not one of those times! Immediately when I arrived she sat with me and we spent time discussing expectations, comfortability and concern. She was so incredibly patient and professional with me, and through that she reassured me that I was in good hands. I learned about my curls through our time together, she helped put so many questions I had into place! She brought life to my curls, I didn’t want to leave and risk screwing up her masterpiece! What a miracle worker! She prepared me with everything I would need to maintain my curls and checked in with me days after to ensure I was satisfied or had any questions. I am looking forward to seeing her again and learning more through her as I go on this what seemed like a hopeless journey understanding my hair.
