I got my hair cut and colored at a different salon and it was nothing like I asked for and overall terrible. I came to Cutler one week later to get it fixed and they did an amazing job! Elisha was my colorist and knew exactly what to do to and talked me through everything. My hair looks soo much better. I also mentioned I did not like my hair cut and Elisha referred me to Hayley to help me even though I was not scheduled with her. She saw the problem immediately and was able to make some adjustments. 10/10 recommend this salon, and especially Elisha for color and Hayley for hair cut!

OVERVIEW Attentive staff, they provide you with water, coat room, changing rooms in the back, spacious salon and are so attentive! The salon is conveniently located at a great shopping area in case you’re looking to revamp your entire look that day and around the block to the famous NYC sample sales. RECOMMEND David cut and styled my hair. He’s got magical hands especially in long layers, like the popular butterfly haircut… and look at his styling on me! 🤩 I attached the photo right after he styled bc just WOW. Loved it. You’re welcome. Xx

I’ve been getting my hair cut and colored at Cutler for years. Gina is an amazing colorist who gives me a strawberry blonde color no one thinks isn’t my own hair. Hayde is the only one I trust to cut my hair especially a short cut. They are the dynamic duo!

Darrin is the absolute best. Left my hair feeling so healthy and kept the exact length I wanted. He is also super sweet and made sure to ask me about all of my hair preferences and styling habits for the perfect cut. Will absolutely be returning to Cutler from here on out.

Elijah Ashurov will get you past the Paris checkpoint. You absolutely must splurge on a very scrupulous and tasteful pretty haircut by Elijah. There will be nothing else that can prepare your American self for a stopover in Paris. No makeup, no designer handbag can do more for you than a haircut by Elijah. It doesn't matter if you plan on going in ll bean fleece or "quiet luxury," you need a genuinely creative and kind eye to kick you up a level and a pricey handbag just means you spent a lot of money and not that you have great taste. Elijah has amazing taste and has an affable spirit that will put you at ease. I got the graduated bob. Asians are always looking for someone to give them body and volume and hair that swings. Elijah put in so much work to make that happen for me. The best haircut I have ever received and my mom said she could tell it is a great haircut.

I had the worst haircut experience ever. Despite clearly requesting no wash and just a tiny trim (as I was in a rush to get to the airport), I waited 35 minutes to receive an unrequested, impersonal wash with a cheap-smelling product, where I need it to ask to wash off twice having bubbles all over my hair . The cut, which I wanted spiky, messy and slightly longer on top, turned out exactly the opposite: settled” old secretary style” unprofessional. People commented at the airport about how different it looked from the night before! For a rushed, 15-minute disaster, I was charged $145. Honestly, I should have cut my hair. Stay clear of this place—I've never had anything like it! Used to be OK salon before! Is this spiky messy haircut looks like and the worse the back to it’s too short - OMG - I think I shave this now

I saw the hair stylist Anthony Hernandez. He was very dismissive, snarky and rude. At the beginning, I told him I wanted a low maintence hair cut without a lot of layers that I could air dry because as a Mom, I didn’t have a lot of extra time to blow dry or curl my hair. He mentioned me saying this multiple times throughout the appointment with an attitude of disdain. He brought it again out of nowhere mocking, “That’s like saying you want to look like a Supermodel but don’t want to wear makeup.” I have had many “lived in” hair cuts before where this is not an insane ask. I really wanted curtain bangs and was showing him multiple photos of what I wanted, he barely looked at them and was just overall dismissive in his responses. I ended crying half way through because he was clearly so agitated and I was so uncomfortable in his chair feeling like I was inconveniencing him when I explained what I wanted. I told him, “I feel like you’re really agitated with me and it’s making me uncomfortable. He didn’t say much in response. Someone acting annoyed with you while they have scissors in their hand cutting your hair is NOT a fun experience. I spent the second half of the haircut wiping away tears because I felt so dismissed and upset that what was supposed to be a fun afternoon was spent with a hairstylist that couldn’t be bothered. I still tipped him 20% because I’m classy but I was not pleased tipping that amount for such a bad experience. In the end, very subpar haircut and I was super disappointed with how it turned out. Do not recommend.

Amanda Roberts aka ColorMeMandie is hands down the best colorist in the game. Goes above and beyond for her clients. Meticulous, professional, patient, kind, warm, funny, visionary. There’s a reason she had a roster of loyal clients. If you can get in to see her, you’re beyond lucky.

I had a very disappointing experience at this salon. The haircut I received was basic and not up to standard—worse than what I would expect from a budget chain like Super Cuts. Additionally, the receptionist was quite rude, making me feel unwelcome when all I wanted was to pay for the service. It’s unfortunate because I came in hoping for a positive experience. I hope they can improve both their styling and customer service in the future

I had my first session at cutler soho with Tiffany today for a double color treatment.I went from brassy blonde to dark brown and cherry red balayage. She did an amazing job and I definitely recommend her for color work.

Appalling customer service. Booked an appt on THEIR WEBSITE and upon arrival they said they can’t see it. I showed them a screenshot of my approval with the actual words “your order is approved” and was explained the system denied it as they had no way to reach me. I pointed to the fact that I had visited the salon before and they have my profile but they simply said it wasn’t connected to the reservation. The word sorry was not uttered and it didn’t cross anyone’s mind to check if there might be an availability to accept me or compensate me for my wasted time. Nothing. Just - the system denied you appt. I will never return to this place and I hope this review saves others the time and fury.

Had the most bizarre experience at Cutler a few weeks ago. The woman I've been seeing for my color for the past 3 years was unavailable for weeks so I booked with someone else there instead. Despite giving my original woman a heads up that I'd be seeing someone else, when I saw her at the salon she proceeded to ignore me every time she walked by me or stood next to me. When the woman doing my color was done, she asked if I was happy and said "your original hair girl wouldn't give me the formula she uses on you so I had to guess myself." Will not be returning ✌🏼

I started getting my hair cut by Ting 2 years ago after my hair stylist at IGK increased her rate and my friend recommended Ting at Cutler. Her price ended up being a bit higher than my IGK girl, but she did such an amazing job I haven’t looked back! The way she shapes my hair and creates layers has truly transformed my hair and I see myself continuing to go to her for years!

It was such an amazing and relaxing experience!!! I went in for a full highlight. I have natural, fine, dark hair, and I wanted to do something different and go blonde. I had my appointment with Amanda, and she is AMAZING!!! She is so kind, positive, and very professional. She made my blonde dream come true. I'm genuinely so happy with my results. She also gave me recommendations and tips on how to take care of my hair until my next appointment with her. I honestly feel like my hair is in great hands, and I can't wait for my next visit!!!

Ryan is incredible! I needed a haircut and up do for a wedding and he absolutely nailed both! I highly recommend this place, especially if you are staying in the area! We had a wedding at Tribeca Rooftop and stayed at the Arlo - the salon is affiliated with rhe Arlo SoHo and next door to the property, so the entire experience was excellent!

I always book Mike Martinez at the Soho or Brooklyn location, but since he was out of town, I got an absolutely fantastic cut from Anthony Joseph Hernandez. He clearly knows men's hair. Thrilled with the results.

I am extremely unhappy with the appt I had last night. My colorist Elisha was 30 minutes late to the appointment. When she did the first single process and glaze and we went to blow dry, there was a line where the gray touch up had happened because the color used was significantly lighter than the rest of my hair. She did another single process and glaze and my hair turned out an ashy black color with tints of blue. When I tried to express that I was unhappy with the color or worried that it looked black and blue she completely dismissed me and said she wasn't going to argue with me and that she was done and walked away. I was at the salon for 3 hours for what should have been a simple treatment. I am deeply disappointed with the color and I'm concerned that it will not be able to be fixed because it's so dark. When calling the salon for the manager whoever answered would not put the manager on. I am incredibly disappointed in this service and as a first time customer I'm disappointed in the salon as a whole.

Was a recent hair correction model there (april 25, 2024) for Julio. I went in with a reddish (produced by two home bleaching and some pink color deposit shampoo) with bands of color from DIY’ing my hair at home. I didn’t mind the bands or brassy orange, but was curious to take Julio up on his offer to address my roots. Julio and his guiding instructor took one look at my hair and were a bit horrified 😆🤦‍♀️ and came up with a plan to address my bands and color correction. I spent a generous 4.5 hours in the chair as they sought to correct the bands by lifting my color in places and then adding low lights and accepting my challenging request to add green in as well on my orange color. I felt a high level of care there. Julio was a calming, relaxing accepting presence in contrast to his instructor who was firm with me re: what not to do in the future if I DIY. It was a nice team effort, and it was kind of them to call in a 3rd hair stylist to consult. They are true scientists attempting to help clueless, reckless hair colorers like myself. Vibe: I appreciate their allowing me to get work done on my computer. The place was buzzy and busy - certainly a beloved spot in NYC. Initial receptionist at 8:45a was awfully icy and confused as to why I was there, but I’d like to think she was in training and her demeanor will warm and improve over time. I’d certainly go back, as that was a minor issue. Also they offer a coat check, which was nice. Bring cash tip ($5) for the coat check and your stylist (or Venmo them!) And tip generously. You may be a model for them, but they are putting a lot of work in with little pay as a trainee. 🎉

We made an appt for a single process only for the stylist to be 15 months late then cancel our appt since they didn’t book enough time for the color. Been coming here for 15 years so super disappointing.
