I’ve had haircut done by Nicky twice now, and I absolutely loved the experience both times! He always makes me feel so comfortable, and his attention to detail is amazing. He listens carefully to what I want and always makes my hair look so so pretty🥺 I’ve received so many compliments after getting hair done here!! Even though I live in Boston so it is a bit inconvenient for me to come to nyc but the results are always worth it !! I’ll definitely come back when I need my haircut again 😁 Highly recommend!!

Honestly have been coming here for years for haircuts, the stylists here are incredibly good that other hair stylists ask me where I get my hair cut I trust Nicky so much that most times I just go in and go please do whatever you think is best and somehow I’m never disappointed The first time I brought a picture and he spent a good 5 minutes studying it and asking me questions to confirm details he noticed in the photo is what I want, it was an incredible attention to detail that I don’t often encounter The hairstylists also wash your hair themselves and he gives a fantastic head massage I’ve recommended all my friends to him Overall price is very fair, and the salon has a very calming and relaxing vibe

I got a hair gloss treatment and haircut done with Perry, and I loved it! He's very talented and my appt was extremely efficient. I love my haircut and how he styled it, will try to replicate it myself everytime I style my hair now. My gloss has also lasted much longer than expected, and has started to faded quite beautifully

I've been coming to Cutting Edge for years now but I think they might've had a change in ownership or management recently as a lot of the stylists no longer seem to be there. I used to always go to Anthony and he gave me great layers and would always remember me even though I didn't get my hair cut that often, but he was inconsistent with my bangs so I've tried a few other stylists there since then. This review is more about my most recent experiences with Perry. He's very opinionated and will not hesitate in telling you what he thinks you should do. I recently found out I have cancer and since starting chemo, have started losing a lot of hair. The last time I washed my hair, it became extremely tangled and matted because of all the loose hairs and I was unable to detangle the mat, and the only thing to be done was to cut it all off, which was extremely distressing for me as I've had long hair all my life. And since I've been coming here for years, I decided to come here to just shave my hair off since I'm losing so much anyway. My friends came with me to support me and even though the salon was empty when we came in, Perry had them sit in the corner and wouldn't let them talk to me during the cut, even though I didn't move my head when talking (he said he didn't want me to talk because he needs my head to stay in one position). I explained to him what happened with the matted hair and with chemo and he didn't seem to believe me and told me that I needed to take better care to not let that happen again. As if I wasn't focusing all my energy on just trying to survive. In the end, Perry gave me a pixie cut because he said I haven't gotten to the point where I need to shave it all. He said if I needed to shave it, I could just buy a shaver and do it myself at home. I explained to him that I didn't trust myself to do so evenly and wanted to come somewhere I trusted and he very pointedly explained to me that the salon has a policy of giving stylish cuts. That you only go there if you want to look nice. And that if I just wanted something easy, I don't need to go there. Basically I spent $80 plus tip at somewhere that I used to trust and go to regularly, only to be to get lectured at, have my cancer diagnosis ignored, and for my friends to be treated rudely. I will not be coming back.

I’ve been going to Nicky at this salon for years now for balayage and cuts. He’s definitely the best and most consistent stylist I’ve ever had, and I fully trust his judgement / recommendations when it comes to my hair. You can tell he loves the craft, and is very meticulous whether it’s with cut or color. The result is always fantastic with tons of compliments from my partner and friends! Highly recommend Nicky and this salon.

I’ve been seeing Perry at Cutting Edge Salon for over 5 years now, and I can honestly say he’s the best stylist I’ve ever had. He’s super detail-oriented and always makes sure my haircut is on point every time. Honestly, I can't trust anyone else with my haircuts. I’d rather leave my hair long and wait until I’m back from traveling just to have him cut it! I can’t recommend him enough if you’re looking for a talented, reliable stylist who always goes the extra mile to make sure you leave happy!

I’ve been seeing Perry at Cutting Edge Salon for a while now, and I can confidently say he’s the best stylist I’ve ever had. Perry has an incredible attention to detail and always takes the time to ensure my haircut is perfect every single time. Whether I want to stick with my usual style which is a lot layers that can only be achieved with scissors only or try something new, he listens carefully and offers great suggestions. If you’re looking for a skilled stylist who goes above and beyond, I highly recommend Perry. You won’t be disappointed!

Nicky is the best!!! You won't find a more skilled, consistent, creative stylist even if you pay double what he charges (which many stylists in this city do!) Super clean and relaxing atmosphere as well. I love my haircut and highlights so much!

I was referred to Nicky by my sister, he is careful and meticulous when cutting my hair. He cut my hair exactly how I wanted after showing him an inspiration picture. The salon is very clean and spacious and staffs are friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a new hair style.

Super friendly staff and great attention to detail. The stylists will work with you to achieve the look that you want and teach you how to style it at home. I’ve been coming to see Nicky for over 4 years and the hair colors he’s done are all super amazing. He will give you his professional opinion on what’s possible to keep your hair in a good, healthy condition while achieving all the different colors I’ve requested over the years.

This is my go-to salon in NYC 😊 I’ve been going to Nicky for 6 years now and he never misses on hair coloring / balayage. Every single time he has gotten the color I request exactly right and somehow manages to make it even more beautiful than I imagined. His attention to detail is amazing and he doesn’t rush. I have pretty thick hair, which has been challenging for other salons, but he pays attention to every little section and is so precise with blending. Thank you Nicky for always doing an incredible job!

I came here recently for a haircut and was surprised how big the place is. They have a small waiting area in the front with the receptionist. The hair washing stations are more comfortable than the ones I’ve tried before. Getting a rinse after the cut and before styling is a plus to wash out any loose hairs. Will continue coming back here!

I followed Carson over from his old salon- I’ve been seeing him for 2+ years now and have always left so amazingly happy with my hair color and cut. I have a complicated hair history (switching between lots of different “fashion colors”; growing out undercuts; lots of layering etc) and he has always worked magic to get me to a hair color and cut I absolutely love and I always receive the biggest compliments after my visits. He’ll also give you his professional opinion on what’s possible to keep your hair in a good, healthy condition, which has helped me plan longer term for the colors I switch to and allowed me to keep dying my hair fun colors like blue, purple and red. The salon is a lovely, super clean space and the staff are welcoming. Would highly recommend to anyone who’s looking for a true professional!

You will receive a stellar haircut from him at any length--I've personally had my hair taken care of by him anywhere from above shoulders to waist length. Carson is a master at taking you from the darkest blacks to platinums, vivids, and everything in between. This year I decided to continue my tradition of donating my hair to children in need. With some fear of going for a bob cut for the first time, I was definitely nervous. But, my man, Carson, is just the best of the best! I showed him a few pictures of what I thought would be nice for me and my face shape. He knew what I wanted! He was super detailed with my haircut and took the time to make sure it was perfect. My head feels 10x lighter, I look fabulous and rocking this bob cut. Thank you so much, Carson!!
