Crystal cut my hair waaaaay to short, after explaining what I wanted, showing her with my hands, and showing multiple pictures. She didn’t use any heat protectant before blowdrying and styling with a flat iron and curling iron, and she styled me like a Karen. I would not recommend her to anyone.

My first experience at Damia was a consultation with Courtney a week ago. I explained that I hated my hair color which had a light brown base with blonde highlights which had turned an unflattering yellow. Moreover, I was thinking about transitioning to gray hair—more in step with my age. Courtney made some suggestions and recommendations but unfortunately she was booked for the next month. After I explained that I couldn’t wait a month, she suggested that I make an appointment for a week thence with Rajah, “who is very good”, she said. Today was my big day and with some trepidation, after 12 years with the same hairdresser who had lately decided to do as he pleased regardless of my concerns, I went to see Rajah. While he had been briefed by Courtney, Rajah performed a miracle pulling out my grey into silver with a complimentary darker base on my neck. My hair is beautiful. He trimmed the back of it without cutting too much of my hair which is a much more flattering style. Thank you, Rajah. And thank you Courtney for referring me to him.

I got a haircut at this salon last week and unfortunately it’s the worst haircut I’ve ever gotten :( I wanted the standard layers and side bang, also showed a picture and specifically asked to keep the length. But the end result was nothing like the pic and to make it worse the stylist cut off 4-5 inches. I paid $125 for a hairstyle that has zero style and just looks like a blob of hair. She cut off most of my hair volume too. I was so looking forward to a fresh new look for an upcoming trip and now I’m having to hide my hair in a bun. Extremely disappointed :(

Stephanie took all the time to understand what I really want to do with my hair. She was kind, patient and very nice the whole time. The Salon is gorgeous, the vibe super relax and great that I really enjoy my time there. Stephanie changed my look 100% and yet I feel super happy with the final new version of me. It's not expensive at all and the location it's great. Church st. In Noe Valley.

Courtney is awesome. So glad I found someone who can cut my hair well and teach me how to handle it. My hair is wavy bordering on curly and it can get super frizzy. With Courtney’s tutoring that problem can go away and it does not involve using a blowdryer which I will never take the time to do unless I am freezing.

Love this place. Joy has been cutting my hair for over a year now. I always get compliments on my hair, she’s super fun and easy to talk to, everyone in the salon is happy and having a good time in general. It’s a fun place to spend a few hours.
