Wonderful salon. Valerie is a true professional. I have coming to see Val for 2 years and she has never disappointed. Every time I leave I love my hair, from the camouflage to my cut. She explains everything I need to do to keep my hair in the healthiest condition. I have gone a couple months without a cut and my hair will look great!! I highly recommend this salon.

There's Grey blending then there is Dandelions in Sarasota. The color was perfect and no more brassiness and hiding roots when hair grows out. It blends fabulously! No more bad hair days. No more hair worries...check Second visit wanted a color with very little maintenance and she BLEACHED my whole head even though 20% isn't even Grey. The end results was damaged white hair, and aware I was wanting a salon to do a Japanese Hair Straightener in about a month or two. Disappointed after I returned home and tried to call her for remedies to no avail. She doesn't stand behind her claims and won't be back

I’ve been a customer sparingly at Dandelion for 3 years due to being a snowbird. My hair is very thick and trending grayer. Val has done gray camouflage each year as well as an occasional smoothing treatment and excellent cuts. I’m hooked. Her products keep my hair manageable and easy to style. Healthy hair after years of traditional treatment. Highly recommend this salon.

Back to Val for a different look adding more depth and texture. Not sure if it's my age, but my hair has gotten very thin. I did get a cut in New York by a stylist that debulked it and did her version of an "inverted bob." Well, it came out horrible, I almost wanted to cry. I have been taking biotin vitamins to try to get some of the thickness back and length. I saw Val a week ago to cover my grays, add a little darker of a color (for Winter up in NY, it's just a nice warm tone), and as she was doing my color, she noticed the cut in the back and how haphazard it was. There were so many inconsistencies, gaping hols, the stylist used a razor (which my hair does not take to very well). Val was honest and took very good care of me. She fixed the cut without sacrificing length. The color also came out great. It is pricey, but the product speaks for the cost. I have never had better products for my hair and my hair hasn't looked this healthy ever. I won't buy retail products or any products on the shelf at a salon ever. Val formulates the product according to each person's hair, it's texture, color, and the botanicals smell amazing and make my hair glow. I left again feeling beautiful. I never thought that I would look and feel younger at 46! I am from New York and I came across Dandelion through a search while at my 2nd home in February as I was in dire need to cover my stubborn grays. I heard about the camoflauge technique that Val invented and came in for a consultation. She explained how she tailors color according to the individual's skin tone, eye brow color, current hair color, and highlights. So, I said YES! Let's do it! I cannot explain here how great my hair looked and how I felt. I have receive compliments galore from so many. The color highlights YOU and doesn't drown you out from the croud. It is worth the time and money. Val doesn't just do your hair, she trains you on the proper washing techniques (tepid water), how to condition your hair, when to wash it, how to dry it, and suggests tools and techniquest that will help keep your hair at it's peak for longer so that you can expand the time between appointments. I love this place and love Val!

I highly recommend the Botox for Hair. It is just what I needed with this Florida humidity. I received this service 2 months ago. It has kept my hair smooth...no more frizz! My hair also looks thicker. I love that they use organic products as I am working toward having healthier looking hair. The Botox has NO keratin in it so it is much better for your hair. Ladies, if you want no frizz and no harsh chemicals on your hair, try the Botox for Hair. Tell them it was because of this review you decided to make an appointment with them!

I have been going to Val at Dandelion Salon for several months now and my hair has never looked better or been so healthy. The Hair Botox has made my hair silky smooth and the organic shampoo, conditioner and custom mixed serum have made a huge difference. She takes her time giving a precision cut. The salon is quaint and being the sole customer during my service makes me feel quite special. I look forward to my next appointment with Val. You will not be disappointed.

well well well... Val, this so called stylist is Rinky-dink, claims she is a high- end stylist but has nothing to show for it. Sub-standard cut, so bad I had to beg my previous stylist to fix it asap...Two haircuts in a week for the price of ....two haircuts. One from Val, and one to fix what Val did. Talks a good game but doesn't deliver, Over Priced... Val acts as though she was under the influence ? Very disappointed and certainly not worth the money. Don't be lured by the organic and boutique talk...you're gonna be begging your previous stylist to fix what she does to your hair. Embarrassing 😳 Responding to the owner's response: Oh...Dear Owner Ian Collier...I most certainly have had my hair trimmed by Val. Ask her. I have texts, previous reviews, and screen shots to prove it. I can't believe she would forget me. Surely she remembers Fiona Grace giving her a fab review at her previous location... Really bummed that she refused to fix the mushroom head she gave me the last time she cut my hair and I had to go crawling back to my previous stylist begging him to fix it ASAP

Absolutely horrible experience. Unfortunately I liked Val but found her to be totally misleading. Spent more than I’ve ever spent in a salon by hundreds of dollars and that includes high end salons in Santa Monica and LA. She kept saying The next time you won’t have to pay as much.....totally misleading. It’s all to get you back to spend more money. If she’s charging those prices then the shop should not look like a rummage sale decor. It’s a total mess. Highway robbery is all I have to say. I spent close to $2000.00 dollars and my hair is a mess!

Just had the very best experience. I came into the salon, was very damaged and over treated hair. Not to mention the horrible color. It turned into over the years. Val helped me get back to my desired colors and kept my hair in healthy condition. That’s a lot to be said because my hair was breaking everywhere. She has a very peaceful salon that actually let me relax and enjoy. I left feeling exactly the way I wanted to look and feel. My journey through treatment of breast cancer over the last 3 years (mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation and medications), though successful, resulted in extensive damage to my hair. Hair loss, hair thinning, change in texture and overall health of my hair has been difficult for me to accept. Not wanting to add more 'chemicals' to my stressed condition, I searched for a hair salon that offered organic products, and found Dandelion. Anticipating only the option of organic hair care products, I was not prepared for the knowledge, understanding, professionalism, and most importantly the skill offered by this salon. Over this past 6 months Dandelion has cut, color, highlighted and provided me products that have transformed my hair. For the past few years I have dreaded looking in the mirror... remembering only the way my hair 'used to be'. Now I smile, and credit Dandelion for this transformation of again looking forward to 'facing' everyone! Over the years I have been to salons in San Francisco, Dallas and New York... all with stellar ratings... but, in my opinion, Dandelion is the 'best of the best' and recommend this salon to anyone looking for the finest possible hair care by the finest possible professionals.

Dandelion Salon in Gulfgate is awesome.My hair was very fragile and compromised . I scheduled a consultation with a stylist and knew immediately our goals were aligned. The stylists are fully vested in restoring my hair to its most healthy state. The organic products are uniquely formulated for my hair. They also provided recommendations for daily hair care tips and vitamin supplements that would help rebuild and restore my hair. Wonderful relaxing experience with personal attention. Scalp massage was so comforting. Products are superb! Went in first for a consultation and sample products and returned for just a trim and shape up. Will definitely be returning to try the camouflage technique!

Called for a color consultation and was intrigued about the camouflaging technique. I had become very unhappy with my hair color and my hair had become damaged. I did not opt for the camouflage technique; however, went with having the color stripped out and replaced with my natural color and highlights. The color removal was not done with any chemicals, all natural products were used. The color turned out amazing and my hair had not been so shiny in years. Val also cut my hair and the style has been so easy to keep up. I can wake up in the morning, might need to blow out a couple of areas but that is it. I purchased shampoo and conditioner as her products are natural with no added chemicals and I wanted to maintain my new hair color. Val uses glass containers for the products which you bring in to be refilled when empty, very environmentally friendly. If you are tired of cookie cutter hair color, chemical hair products and would like a cut that easy to maintain, I would definitely recommend you give Val a call. Susan P.

Dandelion Salon and Spa. I was looking for a new and Covid safe salon and saw the ad for Dandelion on here. I called and left a message and Val called me back later in the day. I told her what I was looking for and that I was intrigued with her camouflage process. We set up a consultation appointment and she went over everything about the process and what it would cost. I made an appointment and for a few days later the remembered I had another commitment. She was able to change the appointment, no problem. The salon is small, only one client at a time. Masked at all times, hand sanitizer when you arrive and she runs a uv wand over you when you arrive. The process took several hours but the results are amazing. Products are natural and hair feels soft and no harsh chemical smells. Love the cut, it is easy to manage. Val gives you six days to see if you are happy with your cut, after a couple of days I decided I really wanted it a little shorter. Called and she got me back in and trimmed it up for no charge. Val is terrific and worth every penny. When I left my stylist up north she warned me to avoid getting hair cuts here, I have had four other stylists here but Val is by far the best. Happy to have found her.
