THE BEST MY HAIR HAS EVER LOOKED!! David himself was incredibly kind, and Hassan, my hair stylist, gave me the best blowout I’ve ever had, my hair was soooo big and bouncy. I didn’t think my hair was capable of holding a curl or volume for more than five minutes, but somehow, he made it last for days. The result was effortless, bouncy, straight from my Pinterest board. The salon is beautiful, elegant, and the best location in the heart of Soho. The atmosphere alone makes you feel like you've stepped into a world of luxury located. If you’re looking for top-tier hair salon in NYC, David Mallett is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back when ever I am in NYC!

If you have blonde hair and are looking for highlights or color, do NOT come here—especially to Lionel. While the salon itself is beautiful and Lionel is very kind, he completely butchered my hair coloring. I specifically asked for something that would blend nicely and grow out well, but what I got was the streakiest, most careless coloring I’ve ever seen. The pictures I’m attaching were taken the day after the appointment, and you can clearly see there’s zero blending. There’s a harsh line where the color starts, making it look completely unnatural. I can’t even pull my hair back because on the sides near my ears, the coloring starts about half an inch from my scalp—it’s blatantly obvious and sloppy. Oh, and to top it off, this cost me $530 with tip. An outrageous amount for such a terrible, careless job. I’m now going to another salon to get it fixed, but I’m incredibly disappointed that I spent so much money here for such poor quality.

I just had the best haircut and blowout of my life with Hannan Siddique! His talent and artistry are unmatched; he has such an eye for detail and precision, and you can tell he approaches each cut with intention. Hannan took the time to understand my style and brought it to life in a way I didn’t even know was possible! The precision and care he puts into every snip made my hair feel so fresh and elevated. I walked out feeling more confident and put-together than ever. If you’re looking for someone who’s not only incredibly skilled but also genuinely invested in making you look and feel amazing, Hannan is the stylist you need! Highly recommend!

I chose this salon after seeing an influencer I follow recommend it. Immediately upon entering the very tight reception (it’s basically a hallway) a front desk attendant who clearly doesn’t care if I live or die takes my name, jacket and bag and puts me in a smock while acting like it’s the worst job in the world. The part of the salon where you get your cut, is just an open room where everyone is on top of each other, stylists bumping into one another packed in like sardines. Even New York standards, it’s small. At one point my stylist could not move because a woman was just standing and talking to, who I know now, was David Mallett himself. My stylist was fine. Although I felt slighted and insulted by him as well, at least he was kind of subtle about it. My hair cut is fine. But what was so disappointing was the overall experience. I was expecting something really great, and I left the space not only wishing I had packed a hat because my hair was styled so poorly, but I left that place feeling even worse about myself as a person than when I went in. I clearly did not fit in the space. I did not feel welcomed. Perhaps that’s the vibe David is trying to give off. Maybe that’s the French way? Maybe I should just feel lucky that I even got a haircut there at all. But even the next day, I still feel bad about this. I guess I learned my lesson, and I won’t believe everything I see on instagram.

The front of the place is very unassuming. There is a door man and once you enter you proceed to the elevator up to level 5. There you will find one of the best Salons in NYC. However... If you tell the doorman that you are there for the club. He will wink twice at you and take you to the basement, where you will join the club that shall not be named. If you look for it out front you will find the club you have been looking for.

This is literally the French hair gem in the city. We did the Tokio Inkarami hair treatment last week. My hair after one week still hydrated, look glossy and shiny. Also the atmosphere feels good, you will definitely feel calm and comfortable. Top notch interior design and a delight for the most discerning eye. I have already sent my husband for a haircut and will be back again myself next month. Also a good serving of Japanese tea, classic music on background (love it) and good home hair care products to go (try Mask n1 and use it for 1 hour for good hydrated).

I first went to David Mallett in Paris and loved the cut. When I heard he opened in nyc I was thrilled. I made an appointment and while David wasn’t there I could not be more thrilled with Stephan. Great cut and unlike my very pricey Chicago stylist he did not give me the 70 year old bubble. And Kaylee is an artist— a perfectionist. Love this place and am going back soon- it’s my place.
