I’ve been going to DebonairNYC for at least 4 years…….its been that long already! Devon is absolutely amazing in the way she cuts my hair. In the past after I got a cut my hair, my hair would stick up on the side, since it was cut wrong. Devon is very meticulous, in the way she cuts my hair, and you will not be disappointed if you go to DebonairNYC, plus you can also get a beer on tap while you are getting your haircut. You must go to DebonairNYC if you want to look your best!!

I've never written a Google review before, but it is the least I can do for Devon. Thanks to her, I’ve had the best haircuts of my life—no exaggeration. I never expected to get compliments on a haircut until I started coming here. She knows exactly what works for me and nails it every time (after my 30 years of getting it wrong elsewhere). The entire experience is incredible. It’s always a pleasure being there, talking with Devon and the team, and knowing I’m in good hands. If you’re looking for a barber who actually cares, this is the place. Highly recommend.

I visited Denonair after reading extensive reviews on Google and Reddit. I wanted to try something new, and based on their recommendation, I decided to get a perm. I ended up paying $200 for a haircut and $300, including tips, for the perm. Unfortunately, it has been a total disappointment. It’s been less than a month, and my hair has already returned to its original straight state. Neither the haircut was exceptional nor did the perm seem to last. While the overall service was pleasant, I was not satisfied with the final outcome.

TL;DR wanted a middle part with side swept flow and walked out looking like Nikolai Tesla. Had a first-time cut with Cici today and she removed way more hair than was necessary for the style I asked for (the bottom left and right pictures in the attached image). I did arrive 15 mins late but the lengthiest part of "new client consultation" should be actually understanding what the client wants, not simply chopping off their hair. I never asked for the sides or back to be so drastically reduced (it's a borderline undercut) just that it should be "cleaned up" which I assumed conveyed that the messy parts would be shortened to be more even with the rest of the cut. For 105$ this was a complete rip off. If I wanted to look like Nikolai Tesla I would've cut my own hair. The experience is nice but you're paying for everything but the actual haircut. The staff certainly knows the techniques to cut hair, they just don't know how to use those techniques to actually give the customer what they want. Save your money, go to a cheaper place that actually listens to what you asked for. Edit: After letting the hair grow out a few weeks, it's gotten worse. The stark difference in length between the sides and the top has made my already long face shape seem even longer. Stunned that such an amateurish mistake was made after explicitly discussing that I wanted a hairstyle that balanced out my longer head.

This place is such a nice and pleasant experience to get a men’s haircut (besides the reviews lately ) . Devon is humble but very busy but does an amazing job and deserves opportunity to serve as many clients with her business booming and I saw her since the beginning 6 years ago . There are kinks to any business but she is young woman learning the ropes as well as I am a self employed business owner as well so I know how it works . You will won’t regret personable experience mixed with her strong personality with each client .

Been coming here occasionally over the past several years. At the start, when it was just Devon, it absolutely changed the way I looked at getting haircuts after years of hopping from barber to barber. It was beyond a 5 star experience. Every session was personalized where Devon made you truly felt welcomed and taken care of. It was like therapy. She made it fun to experiment with different styles and helped me understand how to take care and style my hair. You can tell she’s passionate about her craft, skilled and a genuinely good and down to earth person. Someone you can confide in. Unfortunately, ever since the expansion to a larger space with a bigger staff, it hasn’t been as easy booking appointments for multiple services, the price went up significantly, and the sessions didn’t feel as personal. I continued to book appointments because I wanted to support Devon, after watching this business grow over the years. Until my last appointment, where the assistant asked if I could change to a different stylist during the grace period. I declined, and was charged $162. I tried to explain any miscommunications in person but was met with an attitude from the assistant and was told that the charge was requested from Devon herself. It was hard for me to accept that this place that I was emotionally invested in has changed.

I’ve been going to Devon for over a year and she has helped me find the best hairstyle suited for me. She is very welcoming and provides ample information about hair care and styling. I’ve never been happier about the quality of my hair and I feel more confident about my hairstyle. She provides honest feedback about any changes you wanna do to your hair as she did when I got my hair colored. 100% recommended.

Simply put, BEST. HAIRCUT. EVER! I'm pretty OCD and Evelin did NOT disappoint. She took her time, high attention to detail and explained what she was doing at all times. I'm very impressed and this will be my go to place for haircuts in NYC anytime I come here. I've been looking for somewhere to get a professional men's haircut/beard trim. I'm very satisfied and highly recommend to everyone. I was only able to get the haircut the first time due to my schedule but had to come back to finish the beard. Totally worth the price and highly recommend this. I travel the world and this was 10 out of 10.

Devon is no joke… I had the most messy, unruly hair ever. It never shapes itself right unless I spend forever styling it. After the cut, (which she pretty much decided for me since I didn’t have any ideas), I came out looking amazing. No matter how hard I try to mess up my hair, it still looks amazing and styled without any product. I didn’t even know it was possible for hair to behave this well. Not even glazing just honest

Had a wonderful experience with CiCi who was kind enough to squeeze me in last minute. She easily gave me the best haircut i've gotten in NYC. She was meticulous and had a great eye for detail. I've also never had my hair washed during a haircut which was a great experience. I highly recommend going to Debonair

It's been almost 2 years since I started coming to this place. I had my first detailed consultation with Devon who invests a lot of time in evaluating the best possible haircut one can get. Her attention to detail is commendable and every time I come, I leave with a better version of myself. The best part is that Devon gives advice regarding hair care and is always available to guide. Everyone at the place is very hospitable and really care about delivering a good experience. Now it has become a routine to try to have a haircut from Debonair close to special events. And the steam facial is a must before getting the beard done, makes the process smooth and least painful.

I booked an appointment with Devon, the owner of Debonair Salon. I had an in-depth consultation with her regarding my hair, its natural position, and how I wanted it to grow. She exceeded my expectations, delicately balancing the hair layers and molding them together so that they flow seamlessly, unlike what others may achieve using cheap shear cutters and shortcuts. She has a great eye and understanding of men's hair. Additionally, she is quite objective regarding expectations, follow-ups, and hair products to use. This is coming from someone who has had a history of military buzz cuts and barber fades for many, many years. This was the first legitimate hair consultation I had in my life, besides some one-offs when I was younger. I'm happy to maintain a relationship and plan to follow up accordingly. I recommend any professional working man who intends to grow out their hair (as this is uncommon for me) to trust the process with Devon.

Horrible place!!! rudest hairstylist we have ever seen!! Crude and unsafe handling of your head while getting a hair cut, never experienced this in my whole life. One can get cervical spine injury with such handling of head/neck!

I have been getting my haircuts from Devon now for 4 months and each appointment my hair comes out looking nicer than ever. It’s been great working with Devon to create a style that not only looks nice but is easy to maintain. Definitely recommend her and the salon.

I just got my first haircut at Debonair with Cici. She was very nice. I've learned alot about my hair. The haircut was amazing too, I can't stop looking in the mirror now lol. Cici will be my new hairstylist so I'll be back.

My 15 year old son goes only to Devon to cut his hair. She is very professional and very nice. True artist when it comes to giving hair the right shape. We are very happy going there , after few attempt with other hair stylist , we found the right one.

What an amazing cut I received from Liz at Debonair Men's Grooming Lounge in NYC! So knowledgeable, friendly, honest and professional...explains EVERYTHING you need to know about your hair and how to care for it appropriately! You’re always in good hands with any of the stylists here - with my unpredictable schedule I often have needed to schedule last notice for availability and so far have only had amazing experiences with both Evelin and Cici! Incredibly kind and detail oriented, they take the time in the beginning to understand your hair type for the look you want as well as great and provide great suggestions to help with experimental ideas you may have. The salon is and space is beautiful inside and so is everyone’s energy. Best men’s salon experience I’ve had in the city!
