Kevin at Deep Blue Hair Studio is amazing. He always give me the cleanest cuts, doesn't rush, and makes sure I'm completely satisfied before the cape comes off. I always leave feeling great. The rest of the staff at the salon are equally awesome- such a welcoming and professional atmosphere. Highly recommend!

EDIT: Owner Sylvia reached out to address my concerns very quickly. Excellent customer service. I received a haircut from Kali last week. The salon was lovely and the hairdresser was very nice, but the haircut was not. I didn't notice it in the salon, but when I went home I saw how uneven my undercut sides were. I had to shave it down with my own clippers. I understand that not all hairdressers may be skilled in all types of cuts, but please let your customers know if certain hairdressers cannot do certain types of cuts, so that we can choose the proper person for our needs.

I have been getting my haircut by Sylvia at Deep Blue for years now and I refuse to go anywhere else. My hair has never looked better. She is super friendly and I cannot recommend Sylvia and Deep Blue Hair Studio enough.

Having moved to Boston in July, I hadn't had luck getting a decent haircut in my area UNTIL I found Deep Blue!!! I have been twice now and Sylvia has hit it out of the ballpark!!!! It has been years since I've had such a fabulous AND consistent haircut! I will be a client for life. This is the place to be!

We wanted to use an LGBTQ-friendly business to do hair for our wedding, and we LOVED working with Christiana and Candice from Deep Blue. My wife has been going to them for hair cuts & color for a long time, so they were our #1 choice for our wedding. They were so perfect. So so perfect. Our hair came out looking beyond perfect, everything that we'd hoped for (I had a braid with decorative pieces along it, the pieces weren't the easiest to work with but Candice found a way to work them into the braid and make it look amazing) and my wife wanted a modern take on a vintage look. These girls nailed both styles, and both styles held up through the whole night of dancing! And Christiana, I can't thank you enough for making my mom feel so comfortable with you. She's had bad experiences in the past with other stylists and was feeling really anxious about her hair, but you gained her trust. You made her hair look good, and more importantly you made her FEEL good. That means everything to us <3

*Editing my review to add a STRONG recommendation for Kevin. Switched my son to Deep Blue's barber shop 6 mos ago and he could not be happier with his cuts from Kevin. Kevin is talented and listens - really listens - and nails it every time. Won't go elsewhere. Sylvia, Candace and Christiana are all talented stylists. I love everything about this gem of a salon.

I found this salon online with good reviews. Made appointment for next day, as on a phone was told me ‘someone just might cancel one’. Candice made me a haircut; she listened what I asked, but I didn’t really like the haircut she made for me. She even didn’t show me the back of my head at the end, it was way too strange to me. I paid her $70 ( as she told) and few $$ tips. Came home, looked at myself in a mirror, took scissors and totally fixed this haircut. I decided go back to salon and show what a poor job I got for such money. On a way to salon I met my neighbor. She right the way told me: “ what a lovely haircut”. When Candice did see me, to my surprise, she was openly laughing and at the same time told me that yes, definitely my haircut now is very good. And during my appointment, and when I came there second time - there were no customers. Definitely, will not recommend this salon

I have been getting my hair cut at Deep Blue for ten years now and cannot imagine going anywhere else. Kevin joined their team as the in-house barber this year and is excellent. He is a kind soul and quickly adapts his style to each person. I would recommend Kevin and Deep Blue time and again.

I've been going through the always-challenging experience of growing out my gray hair after 15 years of dying it. I had no idea what it would look like or really how to best go about the process but I knew I was done with that time-consuming, expensive, unpleasant, and unhealthy process. Christiana at Deep Blue has been AMAZING!!! I had not worked with her before and had only been to DB once or twice, but I decided to trust her. We cut it relatively short (it had been below my shoulders, now it is a couple inches above), Christiana added toner a couple of times on the ends to reduce the grow-out line and brassiness, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the result!!! It's been 8 months with 4-5 visits and I couldn't be happier. Yay for Christiana and Deep Blue!! Go there--you won't be sorry.

Chloe gave me the best haircut I've ever recieved. You would pay at least double for this quality at any other shop. She was kind and easygoing while I felt directionless as I hadn't got a cut in so long. I've already recieved so many compliments from everyone at work. It feels so great to have such a great haircut. If you are looking at reviews you clearly need a new haircut and just save time and go here. As long as I'm living in Boston I won't go anywhere else. Anyone who gives this place less than 5 stars is insane or has horrible taste. A+ 5 stars

Honestly so heartbroken. I feel like I wasn’t listened to at all and I’m glad I stopped the cut and left when I did. I asked for a shoulder length straight cut and bangs and my hair is so short I can’t do anything at all with it. The bangs are unwieldy and blocky rather than a shaped curtain bang. I feel like as a plus size person I was given the haircut that we are so often relegated to: one that makes us look 20 years older and 20 years dated.

Paul is the best barber I’ve gone to, I’ve since moved and struggle to find the same attention to detail he is able to provide with every cut. He is also extremely nice and a great guy to have a conversation with. Highly recommend Deep Blue & Paul specifically. I’ve had haircuts from the other barbers here as well and they’re also really good so if you can’t find a time with Paul don’t fret.

Sylvia has been cutting and coloring my hair for a year and a half now, and I’ve never had a bad experience. Deep Blue is super professional and friendly and serves all kinds of customers and hair types. I don’t know the first thing about hair so I just ask Sylvia to make me look cool, and she delivers!
