Wayne is the absolute best. No one cuts hair like him. A true talent in his field. He cut my hair for years in NYC. I blessed to visit him in Sarasota on a vacation and finally got an exquisite haircut again. I've been searching for someone since he left. But alas as I said No one cuts like WAYNE. There is a reason his mantle is filled with Emmys. He will never boast so I'll do it for him. He comes from Television, movies and Theater. So if you want to look like a movie star. Wayne is your guy. Derekthesalon is lucky to have him. wish he was still in NY. My loss your gain.

What a great experience! From the moment I entered the salon, I was welcomed by a warm and friendly staff. They were truly amazing. Wayne styled my hair that day. He listened, he suggested and together we came up with a plan. He was honest about the condition of my hair and worked hard to get it in shape. You can sense he has a passion for what he does. Since coming to Florida, I’ve been searching for a stylist for four long years. I finally found him! Wayne is all that and more. What an amazing, talented person and stylist.

In love with how my hair turned out thanks to Elena! If you go get your hair done here for sure check Elena out she will not disappoint she is super nice and caring and will do exactly what you want with your hair. Everyone was super nice and it was a very nice experience.

Derek is just amazing. It‘s really hard to find someone who knows how to cut men‘s long hair. Derek is the best. I‘m 1000% happy with my cut. Alexia washed my hair and also was fantastic. Great atmosphere and outstanding customer service. Thank you so much ❤️

I am a platinum blonde, I've worn this color for over 20 years and know how hard it is to get it right. I had my color done by Elena and she knocked it out of the park! Not only did she get it right she gave the best scalp massage! I do not mind spending a little extra for a luxury experience. The salon is stunning and everyone was so nice you can tell that Derek has created an exceptional team. Will be back!!

I was walked in customer at noon on Friday 12/13th. I asked if you can do my roots. Nice lady at the front desk asked me to wait, she'll find out. I was waiting 30 minutes and I came to the counter and asked again if somebody is available now. Yes, young stylist came and took me to the back. I asked her how much is it, she said $100. I said, how about blow drying. She said up to $100 extra. Based on thier website info it should be $100 total. Mr Derek you lost client and good reputation.

Derek is the best salon that I've ever been. I've been in Sarasota for 11 years. A friend referred me and told me that Ashley was the best for everything. Toner, highlights, glaze, haircut, blow-dry. I have curly hair. They give you water, coffee and make you feel very comfortable. I'm thankful that I found a salon that is the best for me.

After a bad experience at another salon, I finally just started to give this salon a try. I was surprise to find not only was it a beautiful welcoming salon but the people were upbeat and happy. Derek was a down-to-earth extremely talented stylist And promptly fix my hair. It is taking me many years to find a good stylist in the area and I will definitely be continuing to go to this salon I definitely would give it 5 stars

After moving from up North, finding a hairstylist who is a true professional and knows how to work with blondes has been a challenge. So I was so happy to have found Derek the Salon. The staff and Derek (owner) are unparalleled professionals at their craft, equal to what you would find at the top NY and LA salons. I couldn’t be more happier with my hair and will be a loyal client for life. Great job guys !!!!

An okay men's hair cut.The website states mens cuts $45 but they charged $65 and said it depends on the stylist? As a new client they didn't communicate that at all. It's was a decent experience but definitely cost more than it was worth.

Hrvoje did an amazing miracle on my hair today!! I was absolutely amazed with my hair color, highlights and my haircut! It has been several years of trying new salons and not being “wowed” with my hair….until now with Hrvoje!! Show him a picture and he will give you exactly what you want!! I would HIGHLY recommend!! Julia, his assistant was awesome as well!

I arrived early to my appointment, when I walked in the lady at the front desk asked me to pay for my services before I even sat down. This was my first time at Derek's so I said no. After waiting 45 minutes I left. I sat there while Derek did 2 other peoples hair, and he expected me to wait till he was ready. They could have called and said they were running late but they didn't. This was a complete waste of time and they could care less about the customer.

I waited about 2 months for an appointment with Derek. I arrived on time. Derek never acknowledged me although I was sitting nearby waiting. I waited 20 minutes and left. His assistant called shortly afterwards to do damage control. Offered free services if I rescheduled. He made her call even though he now had down time from the canceled appointment to call himself. No thanks. I’ve learned all I needed to know.

Julia went above and beyond. Came to Florida for 2 weeks, looked up the best spot to get a hair cut in my area. Luckily I got Julia. Service, friendliness, and fun!! 10/10 I’d recommend Julia to everyone! Happy new year

Derek and Gabby are amazing and incredibly talented. I go to Derek for color and Gabby blows out my hair twice a week. She is very talented, sweet and dependable - and I have very difficult hair. I would highly recommend them both to anyone.

Extremely happy!!! I went here for the first time today and had an amazing color and haircut/blowout. Derek met with me and listened to my concerns (dry, unruly hair that I sometimes want to wear curly and sometimes straight). He made excellent suggestions and did an amazing job on my hair. Lindsay was also excellent in the color application. They were all so nice starting the minute I walked in the door. So glad that I found this salon!

Thrilled to have found this salon and Gaby, who is nothing short of a magician. She listened to what I wanted, made suggestions based on my skin-tone, and my color and cut is perfect! The salon was super clean and organized, too. Just an excellent experience!
