Kayla is AMAZING! She is sweet and funny and made me feel welcome from the first visit. The vibe there is so nice and welcoming. Kayla transformed my hair from dead to gorgeous! I can't thank her enough for making me feel better in my own skin again. Definitely will continue seeing her and recommend her to anyone. Thanks girl for everything. You are the best! Do not waste your time on this place. My teenage daughter had a 5pm appointment to get her hair done for a special event. They called at 4:30 and asked to move it to 5:30, which is fine. But then we arrive, there's only one person in the salon and she's working on someone else and doesn't even acknowledge us. We sit and wait until 5:45 but she's still working on the other lady's hair, so I ask her how much longer it will be and she says she will be done in another 15 mins. My daughter's event is at 7, which I told the stylist on the phone earlier, and she still has to do makeup and get dressed once we get home. Starting at 6 would never leave us enough time, so we told her that wouldn't work and left with my daughter in tears. No apology or anything from the stylist who barely even looked up.

Faith was so wonderful! Booked my appointment on a whim and thankful she was able to accommodate my last minute appointment. She did an amazing job! My hair looks and feels so great. It’s been a while since I last went to a salon, but she made me feel comfortable and was a pleasure to be around. Having curly hair has made me sometimes fearful of salons and I had cut my own hair a couple of months ago ( it was terrible). Faith fixed and elevated my hair; I feel beautiful. Her attention to detail and checking in with me set this haircut apart from any others I’ve had. Thankful I went in, looking forward to working with her in the future.

Coloring, blonding, toning and style… WOW blowouts and epic curls. She’s always top notch. I’ve also had the pleasure of sitting for hair services with Hailey Tucker who is EXCEPTIONAL and pure joy to chat with. The ladies at Desert Beauty are incredible and I am grateful for them. They’ve helped me learn how to care for my hair and provide excellent feedback to my questions. Absolutely love this salon it has such a good atmosphere. The stylists are always so friendly and sweet! I always see Hailey and have actually been seeing her since she was in cosmetology school and she has always done an amazing job. I always leave her chair in love with my hair and feeling so confident! I always look forward to my appointments with her because I know I’m going to leave with my hair looking so good and we get to have some girl talk too which I love!

I have been seeing Hailey at Desert Beauty for over a year and my hair has never been healthier or more beautiful! The color always comes out perfect despite the fact that I have difficult/brassy natural hair. She is truly amazing and always takes the upmost care to ensure we achieve my hair goals and keep my hair healthy and long! I've started seeing Whitney since I moved to Reno and she's been taking great care of my hair! She spent hours on my hair to get it the inspo pic I showed her and offered suggestions to make me feel more confident! Lacking professionalism and scandalous. Whitney seemed distracted in conversing with other stylists vs. focusing on excellent services. In the end, she attempted to charge me almost double vs. what she quoted originally for simple touch-ups with a low quality product line. The salon called to ask what happened and not one apology was offered. Very unprofessional and would avoid at all costs.

Whitney Hendrix is awesome. She helped me achieve the color I wanted while other people wouldn’t take me, but she did and it wasn’t a disappointment. I have had previous color on my hair and she made my dreams come true by giving the color I showed. She listened to me clearly, had a deep consultation and felt like she really took what I said and love the results! The environment is so pretty, the other stylists are hype women also and very friendly. She was very personal and very professional at the same time. 10/10 recommend whitney for a hairstylist, will be returning to her forever ☺️

Whitney is a talented and creative artist. I do a lot with my hair, different colors and designs. She kills it with how my hair turns out. Our consultations are thorough, she is very realistic with what to expect from the service. I have never been disappointed. The Salon along with their stylists are THE best in Reno. **** edit**** This place is decorated very nicely but the stylists are not friendly. I had gone here prior to Linda working here and the stylist who I will not name, left me hair looking like my mom placed a bowl on my head and cut. So I had quit coming here and met Linda at desert strands. I would not recommend this business. They all do the same cut, same color and it's very boring. Now that Linda no longer works here, a 2 was my original review. A 2 simply because the aesthetic is nice. *******Linda is great. After going to multiple other salons in town, she finally got my shape and style back. Highly recommend! I will follow her everywhere.

I have worn hair extensions for 20 years. After relocation here 5 years ago it took me a little while to find Jamy 😍 She has been doing mine the last 4 years giving me options that are just right. I have shoulder+ length hair that just needs a little more volume so I wear 2 wefts.

I originally met Jamy about 5 years ago when I had extensions which I loved! My hair has since grown back and I no longer wear extensions, but love the service, the staff. They do such a great job on my hair! Environment is fun with a great vibe! Jamy is a master at color and working with my curly hair!

I saw stylist Hailey and she was awesome! The consultation was very in depth and she really took her time and listened to what look I was going for and made it happen! My hair turned out perfect and I will definitely be a returning client. The salon is also super cute and comfortable. 10/10 recommend. Stylist Whitney Hendrix was amazing! I showed her an inspo picture and after an in depth consultation I knew exactly what I wanted and what I would be getting. She took the time to educate me on how we could achieve my goal in a healthy and timely way. After the coloring process was complete she styled it and while doing so, explained how and why she was doing it that way so I could replicate it on my own and truly showcase my new style. I will always be a loyal client to Whitney now!
