I have been going to Loni for a number of years and I have left the salon feeling like a million bucks everytime! I can not say enough nice things about her and all the ladies in the salon. She has helped me immensely with the health of my hair with guidance on organic hair products. My hair is so healthy and happy! 10/10 would recommend Loni everytime

I tried to contact Loni couple of times and try to make an appointment. She told me go to different place, I am too busy. It’s was super unpleasant experience. I chose this place and want to make appointment with here, but she did even tell me what day will work for here, she offered me to go to other local artists. Super customer oriented . Thanks a lot

I have been going to Loni for 8 years. She takes her time and is a perfectionist. Her consistency is what keeps me coming back! Along with her jokes and sweet personality. She always makes you feel welcome and doesn’t let you leave until you absolutely love your hair! She is a gem!

Loni is the ultimate pro!! She took my hair which had orange and yellow staining from past styling and chlorine and transformed me with K-tips extensions and incredible coloring to become my dream blond do. I gave her Khloe Kardashian pics as my inspo and she absolutely nailed it. She is the best of the best, and it’s so true: you get what you pay for. Don’t mess around when it comes to your hair and what can transform your entire appearance.

I found Winter after searching on Instagram for hair stylists that specialize is razor cut shag/mullets. After following a few pages I liked, as soon as I saw her page I knew she was the one and messaged her instantly. She had me send her photos of my current undercut grow out and made me feel comfortable that she would be able to give me what I wanted. I rarely (once every few years) get my hair professionally trimmed. My hair is thick and fluffy and I don’t think most hair stylists really know what to do with it. I felt like Winter’s communication through the whole process was very inclusive and I’m so happy with how the cut turned out! She gave me easy styling advice and recommended some products, explaining what they are for and how to use them. She has 20 years of experience and it shows! She was so easy to talk to and I enjoyed our conversations. I’m really so happy with my experience with Winter. It’s been a day since the cut and I’ve already had several people go out of their way to compliment the cut. Thank you Winter!

All i can say is WOW !!! First impressions… The studio is absolutely BEAUTIFUL . Both the ladies working were truly incredible. I saw Winter on Instagram and immediately reached out . She responded quickly & was very patient as well as kind. At my appointment she took the time to listen to exactly what i wanted. She made me feel comfortable and welcome. Very attentive! I can go on for days about how kind, caring, & fun she is. And my hair turned out FANTASTIC!!! I’m in love with it ! In all of my years going to a salon this has been the best/my favorite experience by far !!! I definitely recommend this hair studio to anyone looking to get their hair done.

Winter @winterzink_hairartist always does an outstanding job on my very thick, curly and very grey hair! In addition, the studio is inviting & relaxing and Winter is hospitable and very lovely to talk and laugh with. I wish I would have taken a photo right after I had my hair done but forgot. However, the photo attached was taken after sleeping on my curls for 2 days and they are still doing well. Took me about 50 years to find someone to truly teach me about my hair and I am so glad I found Winter! Highly recommended if you want to tame or bring out those curls ❤️

I’ve been a client with Loni for years and have never left without looking like a curly hair goddess! She is truly amazing at what she does and one of the kindest people I know! She truly cares about each and every client and I look forward to every appointment knowing my curls are in great hands! Although she doesn’t do wedding hair anymore she was kind enough to make an exception for my wedding this spring and it made the day that more special. I couldn’t imagine getting married without my curls looking amazing and she’s the only one I trust with them!

The first time I saw Loni it was great, and I would say worth the cost. As she got bigger on instagram and makes a ton of money she spends a lot less time on her clients, the last two times I went her assistant did most of the styling. I understand this is common for stylists but when the result is lackluster, it’s not fair to the client. My fine curly hair looked an absolute mess both times. If you have instagram hair she’ll spend a lot of time, take pictures, etc; my fine, medium length hair was not given the same efforts. It can be more finicky to style but I expected more from an expert. She also talked about listening to Joe Rogan regularly, so obviously I will never be going back.

I've been going to Loni for three going on four years now, and I can't explain how wonderful she is. Every time I see her for a cut it feels like another lesson how to style my hair. I never feel like she is rushing the cut and it is more like catching up with a friend. My hair journey has been astounding and I can't believe that the curls on my head are mine most days. She is somehow a stylist, hair coach, therapist, and a friend all in one. Loni is a true blessing.

If you are looking for a curly hair expert, Loni is the REAL DEAL! When you have been struggling as long as I had with my hair I went on a search for someone that could not only give me the education but had experience in many types of curly hair and then I found Loni on Instagram @desertcurlsstudio. When I reached out to her she was quickly responsive and was able to get me in the time that I needed. Keep in mind I was driving from Arizona to Sparks, NV, 13 HOURS DRIVING lol she was so nice and confirmed my appointment multiple time just so I knew I was good to go for my appointment. Once I got there is when the MAGIC happened! She was very detailed asking me so many curly hair questions doing a full diagnostic and making sure I understood my own hair haha but I'm so happy I decided to make the trip not just once but twice already to see her for my curly hair spa session <3 Thank you so much Loni !! :)

I've been seeing Loni at Desert Curls for a little over a year and I'll never go anywhere else in the Reno area. Having curly hair, I've had countless haircuts that I didn't like — but every one from Loni at Desert Curls has been awesome. Loni is kind, extremely talented and does a great job at educating you on how keep your hair healthy. If you're looking for an amazing cut, don't hesitate to give her a call, you won't be disappointed.

Loni knows curly hair well, but I’m disappointed in the professionalism and way I’ve been treated. When I first started going to her, she would really take the time to listen to me and come up with a haircut that would meet my needs. As time has gone on, it’s like she just wants us in and out and she keeps increasing her prices. Not to mention moving the salon all the way in Sparks SUPER far from where the original location was. She has assistants now that spend most of the time on your hair now while she is with another client. This bothers me. I spend a ton of money to get my hair done by her, not her assistants. To make matters worse, I messaged her this September telling her that my hair was in poor condition and I thought I needed another cut before my next appointment which was a cut/color. She said she couldn’t get me in before November 2 (my next scheduled appointment) and suggest I try someone else. I never canceled my appointment with her. I just waited the two months of agony. The day before I texted her to confirm since I didn’t get her text to confirm. She told me I had canceled. I NEVER canceled my appointment. I wanted to get a trim in between my appointment. She assumed I canceled and filled my appointment. She didn’t offer any solution. When I told her how upset I was at this and especially that she wasn’t trying to fix this problem, she said that it wasn’t fair to other clients to reschedule them when it wasn’t their fault. I never canceled my appointment either! This wasn’t my fault, it is hers for assuming that I canceled my appointment. I will not continue to go to her. She used to be caring and friendly, but her success has gotten the best of her and honestly the prices aren’t worth it. Save your money and go to a hairdresser that will actually be the one touching your hair and try to make it right when they make a mistake.
