I gave gotten my haircut by Angelina for a few months now and love it every time. She fixed my hair when I got a bad haircut at a different salon. Now I don’t go anywhere else but here, hair feels healthy and I love how it looks. ❤️

I have gone to Angelina Valdez a couple of times and I am pleased with the results every time. She has great customer service and she makes sure that you leave happy. I got a Balayage and color treatment with her. Definitely recommend!

I’ve been going to Alex for over a year and happy to follow her to her new space at Desert Roots Salon. The salon’s boutique style creates such a personal and relaxing experience. Alex always takes her time to make sure I’m happy with her work and stays completely focused while cutting my hair. I appreciate her attention to detail and the care she puts into every appointment. Choosing Desert Roots Salon has been the best choice I could have made for the health of my hair and my hair goals. Janessa is my stylist and she has out done her self she’s was upfront and honest with me when I chose to go from black box dye to lightening my hair. My main goal was the health and integrity of my hair and she blew me out the water with her skill set!! She definitely had me as a forever client ❤️

I found Joey through Instagram and the amazing reviews of Desert Roots online, and I am so grateful I did! Joey is amazing and really invested in what I wanted to accomplish with my hair goals. She is a specialist in all hair types, especially Blonde, which can be hard to find in Albuquerque. I also bring my teenage daughter to see Joey, with curly hair, and she is able to cut, color and style it perfectly as well. Joey does a phenomenal job, listens intently, and executes flawlessly. I couldn’t be more happy and excited about my experience and am so happy I FINALLY found my forever salon and stylist!

I went to Dianna for color correction. I had dyed my hair blue black for 20 years with box dye. I asked her if she could make me a blonde, and we took me on the most wonderful hair journey. She was patient and kind with helping me understanding the process and the risks. After several months of work, she was able to get me to the blonde that I was dreaming of! All of the staff were so pleasant, I loved the atmosphere and the vibe of the salon. All of the girls were great, even if they weren’t my stylist. Alex at the front desk was such a doll and very helpful too! Go visit his salon! You won’t be disappointed!

I’m so thankful that I found Joey at Desert Roots Salon. She is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. She was able to listen to me and collaborate a plan for my color and hair health needs. Even after 6 weeks of the color application done by Joey, it still looked fresh and vibrant. I have thinning hair with a great amount of loss at the temples. Joey was able to do a custom cut specifically suited for my pattern of hair loss. Her expertise and conscientiousness for the needs of her clients is extraordinary. I have great confidence in referring Joey to friends and family!

My stylist Alex was such a blessing! She helped me out with my hair for my senior homecoming, and I absolutely loved it! I went in unsure of how to describe what I wanted, but after showing her some inspiration, she worked her magic and made me look PERFECT! Such amazing service and such an amazing stylist! This place is the best salon in town! I've been seeing Diana for a long time and she knows her stuff! I have very thick, coarse hair and not very many stylists can do my hair right or the way I like. If you're looking for a new salon, this is the place to go. All the women are knowledgeable and very friendly, they also do amazing colors. Won't go anywhere else in town!

Alex did good I love how my hair turned out ! I got a gloss and haircut by her. (My hair is longer- past my shoulders for reference) She did what I wanted and my hair looks so pretty! I also think she is super affordable which is a plus for me!! Thank you again!

Angelina was amazing! She was warm and personable. I told her what I was hoping to achieve and with her professional input the results were better than I had hoped for. Erin and Diana are THE BEST not only Hairstylists but Owners I absolutely ADORE THEM! I’ve followed them for years from another Salon until they finally got their own. My whole family (grandma,mom,cousin, niece etc). 🫶🏻 As well as Alex , Joey etc the whole staff honestly you can not go wrong with anyone there and I LOVE THEIR Kevin Murphy products. I have been coming here since they opened (and Erin always did a fantastic job on my hair prior to that, so when she and Diana co-founded Desert Roots it became my new salon!) and always leave very happy with my hair, get lots of compliments, and recommend them to others. My schedule can be a bit chaotic so I have seen Erin, Sylvia, Yvonne, and Abbey and all have been stellar! Most recently, Sylvia masterfully gave me the exact cut and colors I wanted for a pretty big change, far better than I could even articulate or envision, even with some tricky emerald green color placement! Sylvia and all the stylists are also very kind and welcoming, not to mention patient and extremely skilled with bringing my sometimes elaborate-yet-not-super-well-described color ideas/example pics on different hair types to life in the way that works best for my hair and lifestyle/maintenance, and the vibes are calming and great all around. I also love the cruelty-free Kevin Murphy products they use! Highly recommend Desert Roots and will be sending my mom y’all’s way now that she has moved to ABQ as well!

This salon has such a warm, homey vibe that I couldn’t find anywhere else. From the moment you walk in, it’s clear that the owners knew exactly what they were doing when they opened this place—they had a vision, and they succeeded beyond expectations. I also love their online presence! Their shoots showcasing their hair talent are so impressive, and they’re always engaging with clients in such a genuine way. As for my stylist, Angelina, she’s an absolute gem. She has a natural-born talent for doing hair, and I can’t praise her enough. I’ve struggled in the past to find someone who doesn’t just focus on color but can actually cut hair well. Unfortunately, I’ve had my share of botched cuts at other places, but with Angelina, I’ve never been more confident.
