Ya’ll. I’m 35 and for the first time in my life got a haircut that suits me. My hair is tricky. Curly and fine yet heavy. Dev is a magician. His cut gave my hair volume and shape without being see through and my curls are juicier than ever. I can do a million different hair styles instead of my standard rotation of plain top knot or down. I feel like Me. A badass, witchy me. Can’t recommend Dev enough. He is an incredible talent and genuine soul. Look no further. Your hair dreamz will meet reality in his hands.

Dev is kind knowledgeable and experienced. It was very clear that Dev understands many types of curl patterns and how to cut them to bring out the best. Added bonus, Dev uses all natural non toxic hair products, so I did not have to worry about scent triggered migraines. Highly recommend!

Nirvana is the state you reach while seated in the Extraordinary Hairdresser Devin’s Authentic Barber’s Chair. From the second he evaluated my mane (we’ll get back to that) I felt safe and in confident hands, as I gazed into his well maintained native garden teeming with flowers, plants, a bubbling homemade fountain and the birds he feeds. This man IS OF NATURE AND HIS PROCESS SHOWS IT!!! He began with a luxurious scalp massage and shampoo like I’ve never experienced in his first class shampoo bowl (no kitchen sink here folks- don’t be fooled bc it’s a home salon— this is a professional set-up!) then on to my FAVORITE NEW HAIRCUT, which perfectly frames my face & honestly takes 5 yrs off of my look— he’s MAGIC, you guys!! *** *** *** After my fabulous Blow Out when I’m seriously looking like a million dollars, this kind and lovely man makes an incredible gesture and offers to allow me become a model for his newest technique: the COMBLINE— it’s like extensions but sooo much better!! Real hair delicately and individually applied into your own using a proprietary device… no icky, thick, visible nubs and it’s so chic I can hardly feel it, and my hair looks so much thicker and more beautiful now which makes me feel wonderful!!! I suffered an injury years ago that left me with a head wound where hair would not grow & Devin in his generosity & creativity transformed my appearance!! 🥰🥰🥰 Now back to The Mane… I was delighted to learn that DevsDoesHair is also my neighbor! It’s easy to find him bc his place is marked by the two Lions guarding either side of his entrance. Isn’t that just perfect?!! I highly recommend anyone looking for a new stylist, colorist or transformative hair experience to book a session with Devin (and his cutie-pie mascot pup Sabine) asap. You will NOT be disappointed!!!

Before I started going to Dev, I always feared haircuts because I’m so fussy about my hair and I never got the outcomes I wanted. Dev has made getting my hair done one of my favorite activities since I started going to him 2 years ago, as the outcomes always match my vision and I feel cared for throughout the entire experience. The keratin treatment I’ve been getting has made my hair soft, shiny, and so easy to manage.. and I get compliments all the time! My hair is so healthy and I’ve been able to keep it really long without damaged. Not to mention the salon space itself is a nurturing plant-filled oasis with access to a beautiful backyard garden sanctuary. I love this place and highly recommend it!!

My new favourite hairdresser!! Dev is kind, patient and extremely knowledgeable. He made sure to take the time to really figure out my hair goals and work with me on how to reach them. He answered all of my many questions with very knowledgeable answers. And the result!? I’ve never felt so confident and proud of how my hair looks. And to top it all off he uses vegan, cruelty free, low-toxic and low-waste products! Truly an amazing experience and an even more incredible result. Could not recommend him enough!

Can’t say enough good things about Devin!! I’ve been coming to him for 4 years for short/medium men’s cuts, he has an incredible sense of style and great intuition about what will make you look and feel good. He helped me experiment with things i wouldn’t normally try - we grew my hair out, cut it short again, and tried out a bunch of new styles in between and I can honestly say that they all looked great, grew out really well, and very much suited my personal sense of style. Devin is also just so great to talk to. We’ve gone deep on music, politics, emotions, psychology, queer issues, pretty much everything - I trust Devin so deeply and I was thrilled when he started offering Reiki as well. I’ve done a couple sessions as add-ons to a haircut and Devs was so attentive and intuitive, it really helped kick off an intense period of self-growth and actualization. Beyond grateful to have found him!

Here is the before and after of my hair. Before it was super long and dry and brushed out constantly since it would get tangled like crazy and impossible to manage. I have wavy/curly hair. I went to Dev for a curly cut to see how it would change my hair maintenance routine. He taught me how to manage my hair a bit more and just let it be. I started moisturizing a bit more and got a curly hair product that adds volume and hold and best of all I’m not brushing it out and trying to manage it all day. I think my hair will be a lot healthier now and it looks good too! I love that he recommends clean products that are really natural and eco friendly too. I have super sensitive skin so less chemicals the better. Thanks Dev!

5+++ stars to Dev! Dev has consistently transformed how I feel via his amazing skills each and every time these last *gasp 8 years! I always walk in, ask him to do whatever he felt was suited for me, and TADA! And, we are in for a mega treat! As an energy worker myself (of 20+ years, and am selective about who I receive energy work from), I am grateful to Dev’s offering (as of Dec ‘23) of energy work session as an add-on to the haircut! This is such a complementary offering pair and I can’t wait for my next one! <3

I’ve been seeing Devin for over 7/8 years and he’s the only person I trust with my hair. Whether we’re going chocolate brown or dirty blonde, my color is always flawless and he manages to make it look effortless. Between color processing and carefully curated products, he always prioritizes the health of your hair. excellent experience: a) it was so chill being in the loveliest garden-facing unsalon (+ pup!), b) to the point that it just felt like hanging out, with the extreme benefit of leaving with the *perfect* highlights, and c) this was the first blowout i've had in many years where i didn't have to run home to fix it. my friend recommended devin to me, and i recommend him to you!

And now especially for COVID-19, open to outside, private bathroom, face and shield masks and out door setting. Devin makes you look great, and makes you feel even better. The integrity he has in his craft is evident. He worked with me to understand my hair goals , making sure to not sacrifice the health of my hair in achieving the perfect blonde ! And as if that weren’t enough, last time I was in the chair I had a horrible headache. He then performed healing reiki on me and made me feel amazing! Devs is the real deal and an absolute gem. Had an incredible experience with Dev! He was able to capture exactly what I wanted from a color perspective and really did a beautiful job ensuring it would be as long lasting as possible. I was traveling to NY and needed a touch up. Dev squeezed me in!! I’m VERY picky about who touches my hair but I saw his work on Instagram and was impressed. The space is cozy, clean, and welcoming(plants are amazing v instrgammable). He helped me pick out a color that suited me best and was very thorough throughout the whole process. I appreciate how well educated on his craft he is. From start to finish the whole experience was pleasant. He’s also such a sweetheart so it was a pleasure to talk to him. The blowout lasted me days which usually doesn’t happen since I have such curly hair. Would definitely fly back to go back especially now that I see reiki is being offered. 🤌

I’m a guy with thick, curly, complicated hair and can be pretty picky about my cuts - Devin is the first person I’ve been to in many years who I feel fully confident will give me a haircut I’ll like. He’s also exceptionally easy to talk to, including about feedback on the cut if needed, and is just a super friendly, nice, and thoughtful person. Fully recommend him without any caveats, especially for guys who need a little more time and support than a typical barber can provide. Also, I hear he’s doing reiki and hope to try that with him soon!

I’ve been going here for years. Devs is incredibly talented, thoughtful and well priced, but on top of that it’s the energy that makes the experience. From the reiki and head/neck massage, aromatherapy to center you into the experience, to the indigenous garden and copious bird varieties that find sanctuary there, you really feel like Cinderella spending the afternoon with her fairy godmother <3

Never been happy with a haircut in my life and Devins knocked it out of the park twice now, despite the fact that both times I’ve come in with only vague ideas, bumbling and woefully unprepared. Devin makes it feel effortless! Very kind and gorgeous space as well.

Wish I could give more than 5 stars. Devin was kind enough to take me in for a last minute trim, it was the best decision. He knew exactly what I wanted and cut my hair to perfection. Not to mention, he is such a gem and was so much fun, and his home salon was so warm and welcoming. As someone who has never found a go-to stylist, I am so excited to finally have one. Can’t recommend Devin enough!!
