I walked in a couple of weeks ago to get an idea of how much my hair appointment would be. I had a quick consultation with one of the hair stylist and I was told my appointment would be around $250 for the color that I wanted. When I came in for my appointment and showed my hair stylist the picture of what I wanted, he never mentioned the price would change. Usually at other hair salons, if the price is going to change, they are courteous enough to let the client know. I understand prices change from one place to another but when I went to check out my total was almost twice as much as I was quoted. My appointment had run over almost 1.5 hours and I had to rush out the door to pick up my child. There was no time for me to review the receipt until I got home and was shocked to see they charged me extra for things I didn't even know would be additional. We are not talking about $50-60 extra, we are talking about over $200 extra in charges that no one bothered to mention before my appointment started. I understand this place offers "complementary" tea but that does not justify overcharging for the services. It is a shame that a "family owned" business doesn't care about being honest and keeping their local customers for a long time.

First time getting my hair colored by Zaidee & I LOVE it!! Zaidee was super welcoming/down to earth & made me feel comfortable the entire time, honestly I enjoyed the conversation just as much as my final hair results, salons everywhere need more stylist like her! Also enjoyed DNA’s drink menu, they offer tasty iced or hot drinks that will leave you wanting more. Overall, I rate my experience a 10/10. DNA will be my go-to salon moving forward.

I normally never post reviews, but I feel I have to warn people to NOT go to this salon. They are very dishonest and added services without telling me they cost extra until I went to check out at the front desk. Not to mention my hair and highlights are barely noticeable and my hair hardly looks that different from when I came in. I feel totally swindled after paying a lot of money ($300+) to be unhappy with both how I was treated there upon check-out and with how my hair looks. They were dishonest in 2 different ways outlined here. First of all, when I checked out at the end of my appointment, the price was higher than the consultation and when I questioned it, they said the consultation was "an estimate," which I told them isn't true since the whole point of the consultation was to get a specific price for the services. The quote wasn't the same since the stylist added a toner, which I never asked for by the way, so my bill was $55 more. I didn't even know what a toner was and never had one before. I never asked the stylist if it cost extra because the stylist just told me we're doing a toner now (without asking or telling me this service cost more), so I just assumed it was part of the full highlight treatment I was getting. Ironically, though, the stylist did tell me if I wanted a curly blow-out that it cost $10 more, which I declined. Why she told me that, but failed to mention the higher $55 charge for the toner, mystifies me. What really bothers me though is that the salon refused to remove the toner charge after I told them no-one informed me it cost more and they could clearly tell I was a very unhappy customer. Second of all, they lied to me about their flexibility with their cancelation policy and informed me they'd waive their cancelation policy if you're sick at the last minute. I would never have booked at the salon had I know their policy wouldn't accept last minute cancelations due to sickness. I had to go to my appt sick with a cold since, when I called in the morning to cancel since I didn't want to get other people sick, they told me I'd have to pay the full price of my service. I told them I was informed the policy would be waived due to sickness, and they told me whoever told me that was wrong. I therefore forced myself to go to the salon even though I was sick with a cold. Had just the lying about the cancelation policy happened, I wouldn't be posting here, but the fact that I was lied to TWICE (about the cancelation policy and the extra cost of the toner), this is simply not acceptable. I want to save another person from coming here and spending so much money only to feel horrible afterwards. I really can't believe the lack of customer service and can't understand how they couldn't remove the toner charge from the bill when the customer was never informed of the price. I also find it shocking that an organic hair salon would want clientele to come in when sick and spread their illness when many people choose organic hair salons due to having medical conditions. For instance, the reason I would have never booked at a salon that doesn't accept last minute cancelations due to illness is because I tend to get sick often from a weakened immune system. That's purposely why I called the salon immediately after my consultation since I was concerned about the cancelation policy, and the person I spoke with on the phone reassured me they're totally understanding if you need to cancel at the last minute due to sickness. This is the first time I've tried an organic hair salon since I've been nervous getting my hair highlighted ever since I was diagnosed with a medical condition a year ago, which causes my immune system to be weakened. I just couldn't believe their complete disregard for the other clientele at the salon as well. You'd think we would've learned something from the pandemic, but it seems that this salon would rather you come there sick and spread your germs than have you reschedule your appt.

Elise is so good. I am 43 years old and got the best haircut of my life. I had given myself a haircut so she was also repairing a mess. It looks so good! And, she was fast! I am so excited to go back and try color.

After i have cancer treatment I was looking for organic place and my friend told me about this organic salon and recommended Melissa i decided to try i love it very professional, gentle and the best no hard químicos i never thought of places like this one i just love it 😍

Their online site advertises the ability for me to order gift certificates online for various occasions. I ordered a large gift certificate to be emailed to my niece on her birthday 5 days in advance. She did not receive it. When I called the salon, I was told the credit was there, there was a “system problem” and I should have come in in person to get the certificate. I live in Boston, MA. Not practical or possible. She said my niece could come in and use the credit anytime. I said but what about the surprise of the gift. She offered to send a note to my niece today, possibly, if the salon gets less busy. I asked her to do that, but it’s all disappointing. Definitely not the same.

I don't normally post reviews especially not negative ones but I'm feeling the need to do this. My rating is 1 because the amount of time and money I dropped on the service was not equivalence to the results. Now don't get me wrong it looks good but I don't think that my daughters hair was a drastic enough process for either one of those things. It would have been achieved for a lesser price and lesser time elsewhere. This wasn't the first time my daughter or I has had color done. We’ve been customers at this salon for a while She's had color done at the same place just a different stylist 2 years ago for less time and less money. my daughter's hair is brown and she is 14 she asked for a balayage we showed pics and everything. We got there at 10am and left at 4:15pm so we spent six hours and 15 minutes there. Just his foiling process took 2 hours. her hair was highlighted not balayage so she had highlights all the way to her roots was not really a faded look like the picture she showed the stylist. For some reason he colored her natural brown roots brown and then he washed her and toned her hair twice to get it to the right color. (in the process of washing and toning washing and toning, the back of my daughters T-shirt ended up soaked). Before he was done with my daughters hair, he moved onto two other clients and left the two receptionist to shampoo, tone, dry and style My daughters hair. I paid $396!! $200 for coloring, $75 for Toning, $100 for a haircut when he only took off half an inch and $20 to style some curls in her hair. When I complained about how expensive it was, and wasn't notified prior to that, they told me that I should've had a color consult prior with pricing involved, which never happened. We did not discuss the price of it prior to him starting anything. It was just very disappointing and too much of a sticker shock for me. Needless to say, I canceled my appointment with him. I am in desperate need for a root touchup and a toner myself, but There's no way I can do that all over again.

I had a haircut by Ash. I asked her for a specific haircut which senior stylists in other salons could not do. She examined my hair and assured me she could do it. Sure enough she gave me the exact hair cut i asked for! She is meticulous, gentle, lovely, professional and makes the whole experience very enjoyable!

I normally do not write bad reviews but unfortunately I did not have a good experience with DNA lab. I called in for a hair color and cut for Nov 10th. The front desk person (Maddie) asked me to contact Elise (the hair stylist) via email for a color consult, with my hair color pictures, which I promptly sent AND she had an appointment on the 10th. There were emails back and forth with Elise and I clearly asked if she is available on the 10th for an appointments and on the 7th of November, she said she no longer has the appointment for Nov 10th. Elise responds to 1 email a day, and after repeated prompting asks for additional questions, but I am so confused, why could this not be done over the phone, when I asked this person to call she just said she is with clients all day with no explanation and absolutely no basic courtesy of any kind of followup! I then call the DNA front desk to follow-up and Maddie again claims that since the color consult was incomplete, the appointment was handed to someone else...again no options for a followup! I am disappointed to say the least! Terrible costumer service and if a costumer has to send an email everyday for 5 days for a simple color consult then there is a major issue! EDIT to add after the owner responded: "It takes a lot of our time to conduct these consultations." I understand if it was something really complicated. But I specifically added the photos and what I was looking for in the first email with pictures., so no it should not be complicated, it is absolute waste of time to string along someone for 5 days to ask what your color looks like!

Just had a haircut today with Zaidee, this was the best experience I’ve ever had at a salon. She really listened to what I wanted and worked with my hair as if it were her own. I felt so comfortable with her and had great conversation. Definitely recommend for all your hair needs!

Not recommended for curly girls. Review is LONG overdue. I went here for a “new” hair style with the front hair strips being a different color than the rest of the hair. For background info, I have dark brown, curly hair and have colored it multiple times in the past. Despite my hair stylist having curly hair as well, the bleaching process was incredibly damaging to the front hair of my head. At the end of the day, my hair felt like plastic noodles. I tipped well and paid a high amount for this (approx. $200 total). On the bright side, the deep conditioning steam treatment and free cappuccino were cool!

I had a wonderful first visit at DNa. The space is so cool and chill, the whole staff is so personable and sweet, and my haircut with Ana Maria was amazing. She listened to my concerns with products since I have some sensitivities. She was very understanding and suggested I look at the ingredients before she put anything in my hair. Brandy was also very friendly and informative!! The drink list is awesome! The French Press coffee was delish!! Thank you so much!! I love my hair!! 💗💗💗

I had my first appointment with DNa a few weeks ago. Previously I went to salons that used Kevin Murphy, and I thought I would never find a line I loved more. But DNA’s hair color left my hair shiny and more manageable than it’s ever been. Previously I had been losing a lot of hair for about 6 months post COVID. Literally after combing my hair I would have 2 handfuls of hair. Now I get maybe 3 strands after combing. I went to Spencer who did an amazing job. Recently I wanted to get in before a trip but there was no availability. They put me on the waitlist and called yesterday to let me know there was a cancellation and I’m getting in before my trip!

My curls and I have been through some pretty terrifying hair appointments in the past but DNa has changed the game for me. I trust Anna Maria inexplicably with my curls. Not only is Anna incredibly talented but unbelievably kind. As someone who wears the Muslim head-covering, Anna and the team always go out of their way to accommodate me. Their thoughtfulness during my latest visit almost brought me to tears. If you are looking for an inclusive, good-vibes-only space brimming with talent, give them a call— you will be in great hands from start to finish.

Beautiful salon and personable staff. Sarah was wonderful and skilled(even with clippers). I'm picky and haven't been this pleased with a cut in a long time. If you have dry scalp I highly recommend the scalp treatment! Will be returning soon for my shape up and to schedule another scalp treatment. Thanks again Sarah!

First visit this week for a haircut. Space is chill and covered in plants 💕. Staff was welcoming and service was top notch. Hair wash was very relaxing, and I appreciate very much not having to put my neck on the hard sink, as that always gives me a headache. Very happy with my haircut and will be back!
