Ok. I've hesitated to write this review because I really, REALLY wanted a good experience here. I had my hair (3b/c) blown out with a woman named Carina (or Corina). Despite having brought my own products for my hair from Brasil (in tiny travel sized bottles from Pantene) she would NOT listen to what I was telling her about my hair + the products. She insisted that Pantene was not for my hair + instead of using what I brought or LISTENING to what I told her about having put my own products in the packaging, she used what she wanted from the salon. I have very fine hair + she wasn't being mindful at all about the level of heat used with the blow-dryer + passed the flatiron over my strands THREE times before I told her, enough + that I had to go. She kept saying there was such high humidity + I looked at her + said, well yes, then passing the prancha (flat iron) over it again wont help, will it? On top of having not listened to what my needs were or using the products that were brought for my hair, she tried to get me to let her trim my hair. No way in HELL. I paid, smiled at Dolores the owner + thanked them for the service they provided + vowed NEVER to go back UNLESS Dolores herself actually did my hair, because everyone seems to have had a good experience with her. Now, will I really go back? not likely. was this an unfortunate incident? perhaps. but when a stylist repeatedly doesn't listen, it's worth questioning if it's smart to return + spend your money on a blowout where you'll only wear a ponytail for a day or 2 afterward + likely suffer a ton of heat damage.

La señora Luz me cepilló el cabello muy bien la primera vez que fui. Decidí volver porque tenia un evento y reservé con tiempo. Llamé temprano para decir que si podia llegar a las 5:30 en vez de las 5:00pm. Me dijerón que tal vez iban a cerrar porque estaba lento y que llamara a las 4. Si yo no llamo cierran el salón y no me avisan para yo buscar una segunda opción con tiempo. Llamé a las 4 y ya nadie me contestó. El tiempo de las personas es importante y la comunicación con los clientes demuestra respeto hacia ellos. Es entendible si deben cerrar pero cancelen las citas para que no queden mal con las personas que cuentan con la cita y más en una fecha especial.

This is the second time I've gone to this salon and my hair has wreaked of relaxer without my consent. I'm terribly upset. This is so unprofessional and unethical. I would not recommend coming here due to their dishonest practices. En espanol: Esta es la segunda vez que voy a este salón y mi cabello huele a alisador sin mi consentimiento. Estoy muy molesta. Esto es muy poco profesional y poco ético. No recomendaría venir aquí debido a sus prácticas deshonestas.

Worth the wait if you can’t get an appointment, but they have been able to accommodate for same day appointments at times - amazing results and definitely recommend for a wash and set!

The ladies are nice and do a decent job. I went in February with my mom and came back today to get the same exact service, yet was charged more today. I like places to have consistent set prices not change each time I go for a service.

Son muy irresponsables llamé para hacer una cita me dice la dueña que si que podía hacerla cual hora quería cojo la hora que quise llame antes de llegar dijo que estaba todo bien cuando llegue no estaba y la empleada que estaba era nueva no podía arreglarme porque no sabía arreglar pelo corto solo la dueña pero ella se había ido y la empleada noto temor para llamarle. Solo tenían dos horas de haber abierto un miércoles y hablé con la dueña y le expliqué que tenía el pelo corto antes de ir. Me tuve que ir no puso ningún interés en un cliente. Pero nada le doy gracias a Dios porque frente donde parquee mi carro me dieron un Gran servicio los recomiendo mucho Paulo Neto son Brazileños muy amable los muchachos

Ever since I moved to NY i struggled for so long to find a salon that is able to do a really good blowout on my curly hair and that won't charge me 76 bucks for a wash and blow dry and won't charge me extra for straightening my curly hair because they suck at blow drying. Do yourself the favor and come here and get your hair done with Carina(I think that's her name or Katrina), she is amazing!! I have gotten several Dominican blowouts in Jersey and my scalp felt fried. Not once did my scalp burn here at Dolores. Everyone there is so friendly and hilarious! Can't wait to go back! Also have amazing prices and they leave your hair beautiful with a long lasting blow out.

I take my youngest daughter here often to get her bangs cut and ends cut. The salon is super inviting, they are also bilingual and great with kids.

They did a great job with my hair. Luz is amazing, and so is Violeta. Luz did have a lot of customers, so it took a while before my rollers were taken off for a blow dry. Other than that, the service was great.

Don’t come here if you are black. They overcharge you for having natural hair and then tried to add an extra tip I didn’t authorize. Blowout also only lasted one day. Extremely disappointing experience.

Ever since I’ve moved to NYC I’ve been trying to find a hair salon that knows how to do my naturally curly hair without trying to damage it or it turns out frizzy and unfinished after a blowout. But ever since I found Dolores hair salon I’ve fell in love with every single blowout I’ve gotten done here. The pricing is so reasonable and my hair is constantly growing! I never get any heat damage and my blowout lasts for 2-3 weeks. Everyone here is so kind and welcoming. Only place in the city that I trust my hair with!

I started coming here to get my hair done finally found a hair salon close to where I live my second time coming I brought my daughter so she can feel special she really wanted to do her hair with me and feel beautiful how ever I wasn’t too happy with the pricing 45$ and all she got was a wash blow dry and flat iron she doesn’t even have that much hair as u can see the most I would usually pay for her is 25$ but this specific salon said 40$ at first than changed it to 45$ when she was done how ever this was an emergency so I didn’t have time to argue or anything or even time to go to another salon so I just took the lost! How ever I love coming here for myself and will continue to come just won’t be bringing my daughter hear no more because the pricing was outrageous for her I get my hair done by Yasmine and will continue too overall a good salon good service just wasn’t happy about the pricing for a child so if you looking for a salon this is your place look no where else

This place left me SHOOK! I got a wash, cut, layers, and dry with rollers. My hair looks and feels AMAZING! So silky and smooth! I would 100% recommend this salon! Luz is fantastic!

They initially upcharged me thirty dollars for having black hair and then lied about the total price AND added 15 to the total. If you’re a person of color find somewhere else. My edges are raw, too.

The salon atmosphere is very welcoming. All of the stylist know what they are doing. My favorite stylist is Luz. She is amazing and creative. I always look and feel incredible when I leave her chair.

When I called to make a appointment they was so nice. Get there ask for services 88 was a lot for just a perm then 2 dollars for pins very sloppy job and when you have a complaint no one speaks English but they can say "Mommy 92 Please" never again
