The owner Is unprofessional and her salon conduction is classless and she does not handle her clients hair with care. She is rough and aggressive and careless to say the very least. I would not be going back to her nor will recommend her to anyone. I don't know how she is still open. My experience was absolutely traumatic and time was well wasted.

The experience I had today at Donetta's Personal Touch Salon on Montgomery Rd. was completely disheartening. THE WORST I’VE EVER ENCOUNTERED!!! The professionalism I deserve as a paying customer was severely lacking. On multiple occasions, I complimented how much I had been enjoying the ambiance, and taking this time to focus on my self care, but that quickly took a turn south. Despite confirming details in advance, my punctuality was met with an unacceptably long wait time (1.5hr to get to the shampoo bowl), with a queue of 7 other clients already in progress and a dismissive attitude from Donetta, compounded by her disparaging remarks and lack of professionalism. Her contradictory behavior, initially praising my natural hair while later criticizing my hair maintenance routine, showcases a lack of empathy and respect for her clients. Furthermore, her handling of my hair, particularly the aggressive and disrespectful manner in which she detangled it, and was talking to me through her teeth like I was a child is inexcusable. As she’s pulling and yanking my hair, she would say things like, “Keep your neck still, you’re moving around so much like a child” I kindly reminded her she was the one being rough and could benefit from starting the detangle process from end to root to avoid the struggle. She was too arrogant to take my feedback for what it was. She told me I shouldn't be so sensitive. She expressed her dissatisfaction with my DIY “natural” hair maintenance and split ends in a hushed, through her teeth kind of tone, ensuring that others in the salon couldn't overhear her words. It really got to be too much, I couldn’t believe she was being so rude after we started off great. Her insensitivity towards my time and concerns only added insult to injury. My attempt to address/remedy the situation with feedback was met with further disregard and dismissiveness FOR MY HAIR. Her conduct became so unprofessional, I literally had to stop her in her tracks. I simply refused to tolerate further mistreatment, let alone allow her to be the one to trim my ends when she was being so hostile toward me. I'll go elsewhere. I paid her the price she originally quoted me by phone since in all fairness she provided some services (hair mask, deep condition, wash blow dry), up until the verbal abuse began. Why would I dare pay a penny more for such appalling customer service. Her daughter is extremely talented, and from my observation seems to be very humble and professional in her service to clients. Wish I would've waited to use her, but I was looking to be serviced immediately for mothers day weekend. Some mothers day treat I got! Furthermore the salon should be a place of empowerment for women of all types to commune together, to share their experiences, aspirations and challenges in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. Just a side note: Donetta showed concerning bias and lack of support for fellow female entrepreneurs. She insisted on inserting herself, and shutting down collaborative, constructive conversations surrounding entrepreneurship, in an arrogant and narrow-minded way. She constantly chose to disenfranchise her patrons whenever the idea of networking and building wasn’t surrounding her beliefs (that women should live off men and be stay at home wives with dinner on the table and not use their degrees). This behavior undermines the spirit of collaboration and mutual empowerment that should thrive within business communities. And HELLO you are an entrepreneur yourself. It's just weird. My decision to share my experience with Donetta is not only a means of venting frustration but also an effort to empower others to make informed choices about where they invest their time and money. It's essential to hold businesses accountable for their actions and strive for environments of mutual respect and professionalism. There needs to be a positive change within the salon industry, one promoting inclusivity, respect, and genuine care for clients of all backgrounds, ages and hair types. #DoBetterDonetta

Como latina no la recomiendo me dejó sin cabello y me cobró 700 dólares solo para ponerme Bleach me dejó una hora con el Bleach y se me cayó el pelo nunca regresé porque se me cayó mi cabello quería un cambio de look y vaya que lo obtuve

My hair was also chemically burned at this salon causing bald spots. She left the relaxers on too long. Also, Donetta did not respect my hair growth goals and would cut my hair weekly stating my “ends are split” when they weren’t. Stopped going to this salon to save my hair and stop wasting my money…

Now Im speaking on the behalf of my wife who went to get her hair done at this hair salon back in March 2022.. Not to be rude or mean Im sure the hairstylist a nice lady but she have severely burned my wife scalp in 4 different places down to the root causing her to have bald spots from a cut and curl due that she charged over a 100 dollars for!! I didn't see the burns to good at first because she had the nerve to curl over the burns so that way it wont be noticeable till weeks later an them spots still haven't grown back. She deserves either a refund, a repair or both

Went today and got my hair done. She was so sweet, nice, and professional. I honestly haven't had this much confidence in a very long time. The hair style she did for me was amazing. She was also very informative when it came to my hair. I will definitely be recommending her to so many people.
