Came in for a trim for my hair to shoulder and it’s up to my chin?!? They clearly Tried to fix by taking volume off my sides but no but the damage is super done. I put on a hoodie and raced home to wash and style hoping it was just me not being used to the cut but this is a disaster. I’d been working really hard to grow my hair out and now I probably have to cut it all off after this!! Self esteem in the drain. Cancelling all my plans for the foreseeable future. I can’t even fit in a ponytail anymore and the ends are all uneven. I literally have to find someone to fix this. Will never be back as I spent over $80 on this

Promotion scam $42 . Be careful cutting hair and washed. They will let you get the deals and after that asking more moneys up to $75 is you needs to Dry up your hair. Barber here is joke. They just practice how to cut the hairs. Really really unprofessional. I not come back this place . But to let’s you guys know. ***Do not get trapped like me.*** this is not fair . My hair is look joke. 😏😏😏😒

I went to Dramatics Salon 34th street to fix the color of my hair I had gotten done two weeks earlier. Dita, who is the manager of the salon performed a miracle on my hair. My hair was dark brown and she changed into caramel color exactly like I wanted. Also, she is not only a great professional she is very sweet and cheerful. You know ladies our hairstylists are our “therapists” From now on she is the one for my hair. Next time I might even take a nap while she is working on my hair :) . Thank you Dita for making my day! I love my hair again.

I always have great experiences with all of the Dramatics locations. I feel confident that any stylist I get will be excellent. I recently went to this location after I was unhappy with a hair color from a different salon and Omega fixed it BEAUTIFULLY! Will definitely be going back to Omega for all future hair coloring. It’s not necessarily the most affordable (probably pretty standard for NYC) but you can feel confident that the results will be excellent.

One of the best hair salon experiences I have ever had. Omega was extremely helpful in guiding me through both the coloring & extension process- advising me on what services would be the best for my hair while achieving the look I was hoping for. He was very professional and personable and went above and beyond to ensure that I left the salon happy. His work is excellent and very high quality. Would HIGHLY recommend Omega and Dramatics to anyone who asked me for a salon in New York City.

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL receptionist (Asian woman) denied me a walk in wash and cut service today (advertised at $42) Waisted my time, and made me come back an hour later only to tell me that I need an appointment ($65) !? My time is priceless. Misleading practices are considered unlawful by the Consumer Protection Law, and consumers can seek compensation or punitive damages. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has a Division of Advertising Practices that enforces laws against deceptive advertising and will look into DRAMATICS @34 Street.

WOW! The experience from start to finish at this salon was incredible....If I could give this salon more than 5 stars I would!!! When I walked in I was greeted by the talented Omega who helped me create a vision of my dream hair. He started by highlighting my hair which was the best hair coloring I have ever gotten done.Then the extension process and blowout at the end was exceptional. I HIGHLY recommend Omega...book your appointment now!!

I got a really nice hair cut from Ruby, which is really satisfying. Her skills are exceptional and meet my picky requests. Her explanations of hair treatments and styling were very informative. I would recommend Ruby if you want to have a K-idol looking hair style. Definitely will visit again

First and last time at this location. I’ve been to the UWS location a handful of times and LOVE my cut and experience every time! Thought it would be the same at 34th but no… came in for a wash and cut to get my normal bob length back for summer. My hair is SUPER simple to cut - I don’t do layers, no bangs, no color — I legitimately ask for a straight across bob with the front a little longer/tapered. I’ve had a bob on and off for YEARS. My stylist gaslit me from the moment I sat down telling me she couldn’t cut my hair the way I wanted it … huh??? She was arguing with me on everything from length to preference of taper to where I part my hair, and when I tried to stand my ground she was very condescending and rude telling me she knows how to cut hair and that my current hair looked bad and she knows best. My hair didn’t look bad… it was simply many months grown out lol. The cut was meh and I had to trim some pieces that were uneven… and she was just so rude for no reason. Would not recommend!!!

I had to take a chance on a salon in NY because I missed my appointment in Florida, I was glad I got so lucky that I worked with a Pro -Omega Bullock, he knew so much about how to keep my hair healthy and how to bring in color with highlights that was very natural to look that, I would totally have my hair done at this place again, I had a cut color, full highlights and a keratin, he knew what he was doing

I just moved to nyc a few months ago and have been wanting to get my haircut, but was nervous to trust someone with my hair. I wanted a dramatic change which meant lots of layers and face framing bangs. A coworker recommended this place so I came and got paired with Ruby! She exceeded all of my expectations! The layers came out so beautifully! I paid $85 (not including tip) for the wash + blowout + haircut, and it was so worth it!

Just horrible experience! Got a walk in haircut service from randomly assigned very rude stylist name Ruby. Dramatics advertising it as $43 wash and cut service. Ruby spend about 5 minutes on my haircut, literally cut one side shorter then the other then rushed me out the chair to take the next customer. When I have asked to correct the haircut on one side she demanded that I wait till she finished next customer, then pay for a blow dry 40$ extra or that I leave the salon with wet dripping hair. I requested to use a blow dryer so I can lightly dry my hair myself as I not needed a professional blow dry that day, but she responded that it’s her tool and that I have to pay to use it or I can sit 20 minutes under a very old drier. Ruby’s rude attitude and bad customer service, made my experience visiting this salon just awful and wanting never to never come back. I visited this salon previously twice with different hairdressers for a keratin treatment and it was pleasant and professional. Please don’t let this person named Ruby ruin your hair. You can tell this lady does not care or put any effort to make you happy with your haircut, and only care with tips she gets. Please avoid!

Dramatics is the ONLY place I get my hair done in nyc. I’ve been to Capri, Dlite, ruby, scalper and matrix. All amazing professionals. I have recommended this salon to many of my friends and they love it too! Highly recommend for any hair service

I love dramatics- especially my hairstylist Ruby! She is so amazing and provides the best customer service! She is really knowledgeable and always takes her time with her clients. I wish they had more help as the one assistant is very busy with all the clients.

If I could give this 0 stars, i would. I had an appointment just yesterday at this salon and received the WORST haircut of my life. I showed a very clear inspiration picture and asked for only 2 inches off my length. She cut of 6 INCHES of my length and i have a bib now. I also asked for curtain bangs and told her to note that I have wavy hair. My stylist cut the bangs far too short and completely uneven. I am NEVER going back, I would never recommend someone to try here. Additionally, I asked for a refund for the service and did not receive one. Below is my inspiration:

It’s been a while since this happened, but I woke up this morning and figured it’s never too late to leave a review. I’m here to look out for y’all. I came here once to get my roots done because I was blond (blonde?) at the time. I was close to platinum. My usual stylist left NYC so I came here to find someone to continue my hair journey. I kid you not, the guy who was doing my roots left bleach directly on my scalp for OVER. AN. HOUR. But honestly I’m a huge “trust the process” type and thought he knew what he was doing. When he rinsed my hair out, ALL OF MY HAIR FELL OUT. ALL OF IT. I was absolutely destroyed, and of course I was sobbing. I literally cannot express the feeling of losing all of your hair. It was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in my entire life and I’m not being dramatic about it. To make it even better, while I was crying and disoriented THEY MADE ME SIGN A WAIVER SAYING I WON’T SUE THEM. I regret signing it so badly. I was so distraught, I wasn’t thinking straight and just wanted to get out of there. The audacity to make me sign a waiver after the fact while I was crying was crazy. I don’t want to name the stylist publicly because I don’t want to ruin his career, but I’ve never been to this salon or any of their other locations since then. My confidence was ruined for over a year and a half by this company while I was growing my hair back out. I wore hats and wigs every day. PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THESE STYLISTS WITH BLEACH. I literally just recovered from the trauma this company put me through and haven’t bleached my hair since. EDIT: I FORGOT TO ADD THAT THEY DIDN’T EVEN REFUND ME. THEY CHARGED ME OVER $200 TO LOSE MY HAIR 😭😭😭 EDIT 2: Okay I heard the stylist no longer works for this company so GOD BLESS but nothing was done to make this right 3 years ago nor was anything done to make it right currently so I’m leaving the review up lol

I’ve had decent experiences at this salon in the past but today I had some free time and decided to walk in for a wash & cut. The receptionist said someone could take me in about 30 minutes so I decided to wait. She left me sitting there for over 45 minutes, then came over and told me that the stylist who was going to take me was running late and her next client was there already, so she couldn’t take me, and there was no one else available either. So I wasted 45 minutes of my day sitting there. I get that things happen, but don’t advertise a “walk in special” if you don’t actually have the staff to support taking walk in clients.

Dita is an incredibly talented hair stylist. I have done multiple services with Dita in the last year, including precision cuts and full highlights. I have dark brown hair and Dita lifts it to bright blond while leaving my hair feeling soft and healthy. I have also done a keratin treatment, which made my normally frizzy hair effortlessly straight and shiny. Dita is so friendly and personable and I look forward to every appointment.

Everyone was friendly and helpful, however I was not expecting the final result. I think it was some miscommunication between me and the stylist, because when they were finished, it was not what I asked for, and the hair was a bit uneven. The cutting process was also quick. Again, it was a nice atmosphere and everyone was lovely, it was just not the cut I was expecting.

I loved my experience at Dramatics. They were all very accommodating! It was a very pleasant environment to be in and had very professional hair stylists. I had Mia as a hairstylist: she knows how to work with curly hair and I absolutely LOVE the haircuts she gives me. She always has the best suggestions and vision for my hairstyles. Very much recommend.

Stopped by the 34th st Dramatics location for a consultation and hair cut. My technician Mia really knows hair. I asked for a trim and she really delivered, making sure not to take too much off. Amazing hair cut. If you want someone who really listens to the customer and only trims a little off, then ask for Mia.
